This is great beer. My favorite is the red cent. They make beer interesting by mixing beer in your glass to create even more flavor combinations. The tri tip sandwich on jalapeño focaccia bread is killer. Chicken strips are a solid 5 stars, watch out for the AV sauce! Fish and chips are excellent, so are fish tacos. For drinks try the Zeus first, it throws a hard punch.

I went here because my friends had booked us for a Paint Nite and it was here. I had never been here so we decided to go early and have dinner. It is grab a menu, have a seat then go up to the bar and order your food. OK, the menu looked really tempting and we all had small stomachs, so we all chose a appetizer and shared. Ha ha way too much food, which I should of gathered by the price. So once we decided on the food we wandered up to the bar and ordered and were handed a number on a little stand so they know where to find us. Gave us our cups and we self served our drinks and wandered back to our seats in anticipation of our overloaded calorie choices… I ordered the deep fried artichokes, one of my friends ordered the chicken strips and the other ordered the Mac n Cheese with chili and stinky fries, REALLY? I was really shocked how fast that food came, seriously it was like 5 minutes and we were like was that just sitting there ready, but no it was HOT! The artichokes were lightly battered and quartered artichokes deep fried and served with ranch dressing these were brought out first, with these little brown cardboard plates. We asked for real plates and the server was very accommodating to bring us each one. Then out cam the chicken strips and fries with ranch and BBQ sauce. The strips were lightly breaded and fried the fries were on the thinner side and nice and hot and crisp. BBQ sauce was tangy and good. Then comes out that plate of Mac n Cheese with chili and stinky fries with gorgonzola cheese… OMG we really didn’t need those other appetizers at all. This plate was a serious plate of piled up food and yummy to boot! Stringy, creamy, garlicky and the pasta was really lost in all that yummy goodness. This was a home run. Needless to say we took the artichokes and chicken strips home in a box and finished off the Mac n Cheese. Then off to the other side of the room to Paint Nite. Fun times if you can catch one of those here do its a fun time. Good food too.

I can’t let any place that charges 5 bucks a pint get away with serving flat beer. Maybe it was the lack of carbonation that made the beer seem out of balance with the hop content. Who doesn’t love hops. Well if you don’t love hoppy beer there is nothing for you here anyway except flat root beer. How can beer have gone flat on the trip across town? Who knows. This is a local place with much noteriety, however they’re simply not taking care of their product.

Second time here at lengthwise. First time was at the main one. First time was awesome second time was awesome. These people know how to run a Pub. Bartender was busy but a very good multitasker. Very friendly. Food(Fish Tacos) was awesome and hot. Bathrooms very clean.

Great food, great atmosphere. I don’t drink beer(I know, I know) so I can’t speak to that, but this is one of my favorite places for lunch. If you can get in before the rush, the wait isn’t bad. If you get in during the rush, the wait is worth it. This is food made to order, so bear that in mind. The staff is fun, friendly, and on the ball. The pastrami sandwich is to die for and the cheeseburger is, in my opinion, one of the(if not THEVERY) best in town.

I called in a large take out order for a family event. The server taking my order was very friendly and patient as I gave the details of what everyone wanted and I was able to place the order hours ahead of when I needed to pick up without issue. Upon arriving, the staff were very friendly and I was able to get the growlers from my order while the rest of my order was being finished(I was early). There was a little confusion on which counter I needed to go to to pick up the order, but the staff were helpful when approached. The server who put our order together as well as the cook were really helpful in making sure we had all the sauces and other items needed and even helped carry the order out to my car. The food, even after the drive home, was fresh, hot, and delicious! Their pricing is reasonable for what you get and quite delicious. We have visited the restaurant before and enjoyed eating in as well. But I will now add them to my list of awesome take-out places to go for dinner as well!

I really like the food here but the bartenders(beer tap operators since that’s all they serve) are a-holes. I have been ignored countless times while they chat with each other or the regulars at the bar and I’m not a fan of piss poor service. The service at the other locations is way better.

If you are new to Bakersfield, or just passing through and looking for a brewpub to visit, Lengthwise is the place go. Of the three locations in town, The Pub is my favorite, but all three are great. The bartenders are phenomenal, I get greeted by name, even when I haven’t visited in a few weeks. The beer is good, very good. They offer a wide variety of styles, and even some experimental brews that end up on tap. The chicken strips are my go to food item, with stinky fries(of course) along with the fish tacos.

A GREATBREWPUBINBAKERSFIELD, OFALLPLACES. Tried the IPA& Double IPA, and both were delicious!(I should add that they have at least two of each, and they have long convoluted names worthy of a Roman emperor. Plus, I assume their stock will change and rotate over time. The main point is that the brews I had were delicious, & I expect most of them are.) The food is also great, way above standard pub grub fare. My companion and I had the fried artichoke hearts, and they were light, nongreasy, and delicious! The french fries are also great, not greasy and with a fresh, natural potato taste. The burgers are imaginative and huge and very good. My friend had a bacon cheeseburger and pronounced it wonderful. I had a bacon burger with pulled pork on it, and it was also outstanding.(BUT, FORSOMEODDREASON, I COULDHARDLYWALKFROMTHEPREMISESAFTERWARDS.) Finally, the bartender and other staff are extremely warm and friendly and helpful in picking your drink. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

Service is always amazing and the food is incredible. The beers are the top reason to come here. It’s local, it’s quality and it’s worth every penny. Absolutely no bad thing to say about this place.

Our friends at Lengthwise have made an awesome pub. We have never been here before as we are from Honey Wagon Brewing in Tehachapi. But our fellow brewers are are killing it over here and we will be back. They had Paint Nite going on the place was packed with chicks painting. The food was great tried a bunch of different apps and salads. And of course we had a taster glass of every beer on the menu(except colors light although that may have been a joke for serving water like a couple other breweries do I didn’t ask) the 11 lengthwise beers I had were great I especially appreciate having 3 or 4 Double IPA’s on tap plus another couple hoppy varieties of pales, IPA’s, and reds and they had saint archer, ballast point etc. anyways just go there.

Came her with a friend the other day. The place was almost empty. Since it was almost noon, I ordered a craft beer with my lunch and had a seat. The bartender was very nice and fast. The food came out in decent time, but it was completely bland. I ordered the fish and chips. The beer was fantastic. The fish and chips were a complete disappointment. If they want to draw in more of a lunch crowd, I think the kitchen needs to step up their game. There are too many wonderful places in town for lunch, so I don’t think I’ll be back. The fish had no taste, the batter was the same and the fries were below average. The place is clean and very nice inside. The staff was nice too. I just didn’t think the food was much to write about. Very Meh. Good beer though for us day drinkers.

Great Bar Food and Awesome Service!!! My favorite pub!!! One of the really cool things with Lengthwise is the menu although hasn’t really changed much and the food is good, you can pretty much make any you want. This evening I decided to make up my version of killer fires. So the base was stinky fries, topped with mac-n-cheese, topped with the pulled pork with onions and bbq sauce. Turned out pretty dang good. We even had a visit from the chef to make sure he was preparing the order correctly. Jason has a great crew working at this location. The experimental beer on tap is one of my favorites that they carry.

This is a great hang-out spot. I’ve usually been for dinner, but I recently discovered it for lunch. We were in & out within the hour. I can’t comment on the beer because we.er. didn’t have any due to it being during work hours. We did, however, have an awesome lunch. My friend and I split the Chili Mac Burger. It’s a huge burger with bacon, mac-n-cheese, & chili. Holy cow! I couldn’t even finish my half! It was pretty good. Too much for one person, unless you have that kind of appetite. Do go hang out, have a drink and try a burger.

I feel like this review is long overdue. I have been a fan of Lengthwise from the first taste of Centennial at the brewery many years ago. Since they opened the Pub in Rosedale a few years ago it has worked its way into the normal rotation. On the latest trip I had Experimental as they were out of the Zeus on Wood. It was a bit lighter than I had in mind but delicious none the less. For dinner the chili size hit the spot. It is served with cheese, onions and a heathy portion of fries. It is a true chili without beans, has a good bit of heat that goes well with the burger and fries. Other great options are the club, hot ham and cheese(off the menu special) & pulled pork sandwich. We were not up for dessert but the deep fried twinkles are always a hit.

I would have to say for a Pub this place has some work to do. I hate that they serve all of their sandwiches on a faccacia bread which is not a bread for every type of sandwich. Their garlic fries are on point, which is always a plus. Their tacos are great which seems to be the only good lunch item that i have had recently. On to the drinks! When it comes to their in house made root beer it has a decent taste but it would be so much better if they served it in a chilled glass or it just always seems to be a rootbeer that lpst all of its carbonation. They do have a great selections of beer which is a must for a Pub, but sometimes you just want something refreshing or just a good soda. The atmosphere here is good with t.v.‘s everywhere with the sound on which means your not watching a baseball game with MMA commentary. They have three locations throughout Bakersfield and this one is the quietest one of the three. I hate giving bad reviews but I feel like 3 stars is decent because their food is so so, the aren’t really a restaurant because you have to order with the bar tender, they don’t have servers or waitresses, their beverage selections is good besides the warm root beer and the restaurant is clean and looks nice.

Lengthwise: The Pub seem to have finally broken the spell cast on this building. Titled Kilt went out in a blaze of police sirens and Bobby Jack’s went out with a whimper. Although Lengthwise Brewing has been a Bakersfield staple for almost twenty years, I can say that I wasn’t a big fan of theirs until recently. The brewmasters at Lengthwise jumped onto the IPA train and I bought a ticket. The Zeus Imperial Ale and the Ale Ya Double IPA quickly became my favorites. In addition to beer, Lengthwise roasts its own coffee. I like the Brazilian Blend, but the Guatemalan seems to be the more popular one since it’s rarely in stock. The restaurant itself is rarely ever packed unless there is a band playing, but business seems to be steady. The outdoor seating is great on a nice spring evening. The menu consists of typical pub fare, but I tend to stick to the chicken strips and stinky fries. The chicken strips have a nice flakey crust and are actual chunks of chicken, not the processed Tyson strips you tend to find at most pubs. The stinky fries have a nice, but not overwhelming coating of melted Gorgonzola cheese and chunks of garlic. I highly recommend them!
