Definitely and underrated restaurant in town. Very inexpensive entrees. Quick service and delicious eggs Benedict.

Great food! Great prices! Wonderful service. More of a seniors hang out, but that’s no problem. Worth the trip everytime.

I was in town for the weekend, the food is good the service is ok. My lady friend and I both ordered the country breakfast not the best but not the worst. I’m not a fan of egg beaters instead of real eggs, the country potatoes were good except for the poor knife cuts. The bacon and biscuits though are pretty killer, gravy was alright. All and all not bad for a guy who’s been and worked in L.A. diners.

Chicken Fried Steak with Biscuits and Gravy. Amazing! 100% Satisfied! I highly recommend ! On the other hand. My husband had the Chili Verde. Awful. Don’t order it. No Bueno! It looks like dog food. Actually dog looks more appealing !

Good breakfast, friendly service. The weekday breakfast specials on the back of the menu where good to try. Close to the freeway exit so an easy stop if passing through Bakersfield and WAY better than a Denny’s. The prices are reasonable(comparable to Denny’s) the portions are large sized not greasy or over seasoned with a bunch of salt, comfy atmosphere, clean bathrooms. Yes I recommend.

Every time I eat here it’s always delicious! It’s hard to find little country cafes to have a good breakfast at.

When we first discovered it, we truly enjoyed going for breakfast. We tried it for dinner one time and it was terribly bland; didn’t enjoy it at all. It all went down hill when we realized that our credit card had been charged twice for one meal… I called the restaurant and the manager was not very helpful at all. I had my bank statement as proof but to be honest I didn’t feel like dealing with them at all. We have not been back since then; im not a fan of getting ripped off.

If I could give it zero stars I would! Old and hard potatoes, rude staff and equally rude owners! Never again! Go to 24the street café or anywhere else.

Good service but slow, bad food, overpriced, and small portions. Don’t see how this place has such high ratings. Won’t be back

I love breakfast. In fact I fix breakfast every morning. So maybe my bar is a bit high. My husband took me out today because we were going on a road trip to see the wild flowers. So I ordered a hearty breakfast. Country ham, eggs over medium. has browns and biscuit and gravy. My husband had scrambled eggs, 2 pancakes and bacon. First of all the coffee taste old. My potatoes were mushy, not crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I did put some salsa on them and it did make them better. The ham was tasty(you can’t mess ham up to easily) The eggs were right. The biscuit was big and fluffy but lacked flavor and texture. The gravy was very bland. I have yet to find good gravy in Bakersfield. My husband said his pancakes were very good, the bacon about medium good and the eggs(scrambled) good. Service was excellent(we sat at the counter). I will go back again and order something that may be more of a specialty such as their chili verde omlette and the country potatoes with onions and peppers.

Was disappointed. Coffee was terrible terrible. Small place not much room to get to table without bumping into other guests. I had the spinach omelet not much flavor. Potatoes good but not good enough to return. Again coffee terrible. Oh yeah food pricey.

Eat here occasionally. Service is always good ! Usually its the chicken fried steak and eggs which i think is one of the better in bakersfield. its normally clean, parking can be a bit of a hassle depending on when ya go. not a big fan of the owner/manager …all the staff are pleasant though!!!

This place is pretty tasty. Big American breakfast plates. I got the chicken fried steak, which was good but I have better memories of Knotty Pine. The biscuits and gravy were okay, but the gravy lacked salt. Hash browns were great, service was great on the early weekend I went. I’ll definitely give them another try.

Fantastic brunch! Best Eggs Benedict in town, and I’ve tried almost all of them. Great hash browns, and the ranch dressing was not that nasty out-of-the-bottle buttermilk thing. Pancakes were fluffy and just sweet enough to be absolutely delicious without overdoing it. Best of all, we were seated immediately, and the waitress was extremely considerate and friendly. When my eggs didn’t come out to my weird and unusual specifications the first time, she took them back immediately without my even asking and had the cook redo them perfectly. She gave my little sister some coloring materials, and made her pancake a Mickey Mouse face shape with grapes and melons and fresh applesauce. Amazing deal for the less than $ 3 price of her meal. As we were given out check, we were also given two free freshly-baked snickerdoodles cookies, warm and melt-in-your-mouth-ish. I’m very happy with my brunch here, and I’d definitely come again.

I was so excited to try this place for Breakfast after I heard good things about it. I was let down. The wait wasn’t bad considering it was the weekend. We were seated in a booth, which is fine by us. The place feels cramped? Like they try to fit in as much tables as they can in the«free space». When you have to walk sideways past tables to get to your booth because you’re worried about bumping into a patron eating? Not a good thing. Our waitress. She seems miffed and impatient we asked questions. We had never been there before, and she answered our questions as if we were stupid. No smile, no reaction to us at all. Yet, after seeing her react and respond to other tables, that was it for us. It’s one thing to have a bad attitude as a whole, but to «take it out» on a random group? Uncalled for. Our food was okay. The country potatoes were salty and burnt. The biscuit was good, the gravy was okay. I could make better at home. The bacon was super crisp, probably more of a preference for some, but not myself. I don’t think we’ll be going back.

This little place is a cute little country diner! The food was pretty tasty, their biscuits are nice and fluffy which I LOVE. The menu was not very descriptive though, and they were so busy, I felt bad taking the waitress’ time asking about the various omelets they had listed. So, i was a little disappointed when i ordered the«spanish omelet«and basically received eggs with salsa. But they substituted fruit for hash browns which was great! The price was pretty decent as well… We paid about $ 20 for breakfast for two, so not bad. They were pretty busy on the saturday morning we went, and hardly any tables available, but it’s a small place, so it doesn’t take much to fill it up. Overall, good experience, and I would go again.

I have eaten here several times in the last few years. They have a grilled veggie sandwich which I really enjoy that comes with avocado. I only sit at the counter because I am usually by myself. My former dentist office is in this area and I used to go in and eat soup after having dental work done. The girls here seem nervous and frightened and not happy at all. I think it is a sad situation considering the place could be a really happy place and a good place for tips. Maybe it is the mean manager/owner, whoever he is, that gives mean and hateful looks, not only to the girls, but the customers also. I won’t be going back again, it is too far out of my way anyway. Mean Manager Owner. .. . here is a «tip» for you. .. . get a life, quit being a jerk and go to Charm School and learn some manners. You are NOTNICE and your bad manners are not getting you anywhere.
