My parents eat here quite abit but this was my first time. My wife and i split the cajun steak salad and the split portions were good size. My wife asked for the steak to be well done(i prefer med rare) and even tho the steak was well done it was still fairly tender. Everything was made as ordered and we had no complaints at our table of 9 guests. My kids all ordered something different. Grilled cheese for my son had many diff cheeses bur not too gourmet, my eldest daughter had the french dip which she loved and my younger daughter had one of the classic burgers which i indulged in also. Excellent. The staff was friendly and very informative. I only rate restaurants 5 stars if there is something super exceptional to brag about. In the case of the Crest, it was a solid experience

Great food and cool, laid back ambiance. Feels very local and welcoming. The bread and butter are great(I think it’s honey-butter). I’ve never ordered anything there that I wasn’t really happy with. The service is good, although last time it was pretty slow. I overheard the bartender saying they were short-staffed, so I think it was just a fluke. Prices are good and bar drinks are too!

Omg… we have been here at least 50 times and usually have Mary W or Shannon as servers… wow! The most awesome attentive service on a regular basis! And I should know… I spent 10 years in my career as a restaurant manager… Mary & Shannon have it all… both classy and excellent service! Food… as always is great… and I especially appreciate the occasional special items they add to the menu… some day we will try the desserts.. But the regular menu items are so great… and the calamari appetizers and the other sides we have never made it to dessert.. if you just want a great meal and service OR want an awesome RV park. come to the Crest… you won’t be disappointed..

WOW!!! Never in a millions years I have I walked into a place told to sit in the back and rudely told I’m by myself I can’t clean the 4 open tables in the front where the TV’s and the wait will be long. We promptly said we’d go somewhere else. As we were leaving customers were saying smart choice to leave!!! Wow unbelievable

Breakfast was good. Food portions are just right. Sat outside on the patio, in an RV park but you can barely see them.

I still remember when this place was the old drive-in when I was growing up so it brings back a lot of nostalgia for me but boy has the atmosphere & food changed from the hot dogs and cracked walls to yummy lettuce wraps, burgers & steaks in a comfortable but casually elegant ambience. Prices are relatively affordable and well worth the quality of food you get. I highly recommend this place!

Every month, some of my coworkers and I make it point to get together, have a great meal at a local restaurant and have a good time over great food, great drinks and have good time. This month, our travels took us to the Crest Bar & Grill. Not to sound too cliché but… The Crest Bar and Grill is a hidden gem in SW Bakersfield. For those of us who are local and are old enough remember the Crest Drive-In, you’re familiar with the location and if you’re a transplant or not old enough to remember the old drive in, the Crest Bar Bar & Grill is located on the grounds of the RV park on Wible and Pacheco. Knowing that my friends and I were dining at the Crest on a Friday night, we called ahead and made reservation.(Good thing we did!) As most of my party and I got the restaurant, we were greeted with a smile and seated. Our hostess left us and within seconds, our waitress greeted us with a smile and handed us menus. She let us know what the specials were for that evening, along with the drink specials.(Lucky for us, we made it during the happy hour drink specials. Who doesn’t like and 805… especially when it’s at a happy hour price.) During this particular meal, I ordered the French dip sandwich with a half-n-half mixture of regular fries and onion rings. The meat was seasoned nicely and the au jus was VERY flavorful. There are 3 places in town that offer a great French Dip and the Crest is one of them. The fries were salted less that what I normally like them… I love salty fries — don’t judge me! The onion rings were deep fried perfection. The beer batter crunched as you but into them and the onion was deliciously cooked. To quote Homer Simpson, «Arrrrggggg…Onion rings!» …and the 805, I ordered paired perfectly with my meal. The rest of my party loved their food. One person ordered the Chicken Picatta and loved it. According to him, it was one of the best chicken picatta’s he’s ever had. Another person enjoyed a steak she ordered and loved the way it was cooked. Needless to say, everyone in our party was happy with their meal — EVENTHEVEGETARIAN! If you want to dine at nice place off the beaten path, you need to visit The Crest Bar & Grill.

While waiting for my car to get done at Toyota I took the shuttle to crest bar n grill. Breakfast was on point! I had to wait a bit but service was really good. I’m grateful to the waitress who was very kind n patient as it took the chef longer to cook up the country fried steak. Steak & potatoes were perfectly cooked along with eggs over easy & sourdough toast. Thick cut of steak with very flavorful gravy on top. Add a splash of Tabasco & ketchup you’re good. I’m thankful to the waitress who was very kind & understanding. I’ll be back again.

Good food and has a sports bar. They have a good varied menu for most american cuisine, including steak and salads. The menu itself is fairly similar to Outback in terms of the dishes, but not the flavors. I prefer their BBQ chicken salad, bacon cheese fries, or filet mignon.

If you love a decent steak the Crest serves the best filet we have ever tried. Matched up with the garlic mashed potatoes and fresh steamed green beans all at a surprizingly affordable price. One of our most favorite places to have dinner. And i hear their breakfast is to die for as well.

Ok I’m updating my review because I have to share my experience for oh so many reasons. As in my previous review I said we came here because we were staying in the RV park for the weekend for our anniversary. Well now it’s a year later. I’m also planning my close girlfriend a 60th birthday party for the Sunday afternoon of this weekend we are staying for our anniversary weekend too at the restaurant so this is how it all played out. Saturday afternoon I went into the restaurant to confirm with Peter the manager to whom I’ve made the arrangements for a party of 30 for a 1:00 on Sunday luncheon. He’d made a special menu since all of our guests were going Dutch separate checks, and I needed to let them know that it was still a go and our RSVP’s were the number we thought. So then I asked if they took reservations for dinner since Saturday night was our anniversary and Friday night we tried to eat there and it was packed. He said he would absolutely make us a reservation and they had live entertainment did I want to be seated close to that or ?? I said something more intimate. So I made a 6:00 reservation. So at 6:00 we arrived and when we checked at the reception the young guy at the desk kind of seemed confused about us having a reservation but the gal standing there knew what was going on. She took us to the back of the restaurant to the back corner to a table with a candle and flowers. No one else had this on their table. Nice touch! We ordered their prime rib 8oz with baked potato and mixed veggies. The prime rib was represented as to be slow roasted and it was that for sure. It was tender and very nicely seasoned. Not a lot of fat very flavorful and cooked to each of our preferences. The potatoes and veggies were good too and the service was excellent. I also had one of their famous Bloody Mary’s and hubby had a glass of Merlot. Then we finished it off with a brownie sundae. I really think you can’t go wrong with their dinner here. Then the next day our large party of 30 was perfect. They handled us great. Set us up in the back. Did us up a great menu to make it easier for us and them. We just couldn’t be happier. Thank you to Peter and the wait staff you really pulled out all the stops.

The Crest is a bar and restaurant in an RV Resort, which I found to be oddly charming. The décor is warm, welcoming, and has an upscale air about it that you wouldn’t typically associate with an RV campground(perhaps this is where the word«resort» comes to play). You can order food and drinks right to the door of your RV, which I think is super cool. I went to The Crest for a business lunch, and noticed«Lobster Quesadilla» on the specials board as soon as I walked in. Lobster quesadilla? Sounds freakin’ awesome, am I right? Needless to say, when the waitress took our order, she said everyone had been raving about it all day. I took zero convincing — if you have a lobster quesadilla on your menu, I’m putting it in my face. Likewise, when the runner brought my food, he remarked at my «excellent choice.» That’s where the happiness ends. I’m sad to say it just wasn’t that good. It was very bland considering there was a decent amount of «lobster meat.» I’m 90% certain it was imitation, which is no surprise considering that a quesadilla the size of my head was $ 11 or $ 12. If it wasn’t imitation, they should’ve used imitation and saved themselves the trouble. I got the fries as my side, and they were very good. So disappointing… I really wanted the lobster quesadilla to be good. The others in my party ordered burgers and baja salads with steak, all of which looked great and they seemed to enjoy. The meatloaf sandwich, the other special, looked amazing. I was the odd man out this time, and as a result would be willing to give The Crest another shot. The waitstaff were great and very attentive. Still sad about that lobster quesadilla though.

My husband and have always liked the food. Last night we took my parents since they have never been there. The service was awful. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated before some one acknowledged us. Finally a girl with her mouth full of food came to sit us. She couldn’t even asked us how many on our party. Our waitress, which I believe was the bartender too, took a while to come and get our order. There were only 2 people sitting on the bar. The waitress will reach across the table to get drinks or give us our food. She was not very attentive. My husband needed a refill on his drink and waited about 10 minutes before getting a refill. It was not a busy night. Food was great as always. Need to work on service.

We are staying at the Rv resort and decided to eat in the restaurant due to the fact that it is raining. The place was filling up and I asked the waitress, Shannon, why so many ppl. Evidently a lot of locals come here to eat. I had the Ultimate hamburger with onion rings, it was HUGE as was the onion rings. My wife had the old style pastrami sandwich with sweet potato fries. I thought the pastrami looked a little thin but she sad No, it was good and the fries were excellent ! My onion rings were huge and good. Our waitress Shannon was very good and had a great personality! I would eat here again!

Great service and their teriyaki chicken sandwich is just the juiciest tender thing ever. Like finger licking good. I never would have expected this from a place in an RV park but I was glad I went and continue to return. They have other great things, their burgers are huge and always perfectly done to your specs. And I like their club sandwich too. I’ll have to take a pic next time!

Great chicken fried steak and bacon! Service was wonderful as well — came here with my mommy and there was a car show going on. The food was split without us asking for it with no extra charge. I was surprised to find this jem inside of a RV park! Will be back again!

As usual the food is delicious but there still is the problem with staff. Every time we come in there are new servers that are trying to do their best but are struggling because they are obviously untrained. Their demeanor shows it. VERY slow service and VERY uninstructed. We were a party of four that ordered three prime rib dinners and a Cobb salad. The prime rib cuts were spot on as well as the green bean mushroom bacon vegetables. The baked potatoes came with little half full stainless steel cups of sour cream, chopped green onion and wrapped pat butter. Not the way to serve a fine meal on a Saturday evening. Again new and untrained staff that cannot be found when you need them. It is as if they take your order then retreat to the kitchen waiting for it to be prepared. The drinks were VERY slow in coming and measured carefully by the obviously new inexperienced bartender as if he was afraid to give the customers a little more to keep them coming. Pinching penny’s here is not the way you increase the bar tab. My martini was half way up the glass as was our wine. A straight up digestif Baileys Irish cream was less than the 2 oz pour they claimed. IMO this is not the way to get us as repeat customers even though we still do repeat every six months or so in the hopes that someday the service will be on par with the food. Management needs to remember you have a jewel with this restaurant but your food is only as good as your staff is trained.

This place may just be the best kept secret in Bakersfield! My wife and I were trying to figure out a place to eat dinner and saw the reviews on Unilocal. We gave it a try and were very pleasantly surprised! My wife had a French dip and I had the Gorgonzola Burger. Both were excellent! We had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were also«Da bomb»! This place is in a R V Resort on the site of the old Crest Drive In which should be remembered by anyone that grew up in Bako before 1997! Great meal!

Went here for dinner last night and had a great time! With having such positive reviews our expectations were pretty high, but we were not disappointed. They served rolls with butter, but the butter had honey in it making it a little sweet which was amazing. My wife and I split the bruschetta bites which was good as well, the bread had toasted parmesan cheese which was a nice addition. I had the top sirloin with gorgonzola on top, steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We didn’t have room for dessert this time, which means we have to come back again and try something. We will be back for sure.

Yummy! So glad we took a break for lunch while car shopping and had just heard a friend talking about it. We sat outside in the shade because there was a nice breeze. We were greeted promptly by a friendly server. Our drink order was taken and quickly brought out with our appetizer following. The friend pickles were so good! The dipping sauce was perfect with it. I had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. I asked for grilled onions and lots of pickles only and they were spot on with it. My husband also had a hamburger but with fries and he loved them. The onions rings and fries were both crispy and light. My only complaint is that people are smoking outside. Even though they sat on the opposite side of us on the patio, the breeze brought it over. Not an appetizing smell while you are eating. We’ll definitely be going back to try more of the items on the menu!

Yummy!!! So good!!! And great customer service! This restaurant was great! It’s located inside an RV business. Me and my friend walked here because we were getting our tire fix, the guy that recommended it was on point. He said it was a bit expensive but very delicious breakfast and lunch. He was not lying! The young lady serving us was very friendly and fast. Everything was so tasty! Will be back for sure.

Actually went to another place for brunch, only to find that it was closed. Lucky for me. I Unilocaled«Sunday brunch Bakersfield» and found this nearby. My navigation system told me to pull into a RV park/camp ground… is this right? When driving in, go to the right(not to the left which I did). The main entrance and more parking spares are to the right. What a surprise this hidden restaurant was! This was a wonderful Sunday brunch.(Apparently the special Buffet brunch I’d only two times a year Mother’s Day and Easter –lucky) All of the tables were reserved given it was Mother’s Day so my only choice was the bar. Another lucky thing. The service was extraordinary… the omelet bar had a good selection of items to add to my omelet. A carving station had ham and roast beef. Champagne comes with the brunch, but for only $ 2.50 you an order a specialty champagne cocktail, which I did. If you prefer to order off of the menu, it is advisable to not come for the Sunday Brunch. I ate, drank and worked very happily. Free wi-fi! They very good naturally tolerated me working at the bar with my lap top. The customers here were very friendly and seemed to be happy regulars. I got there about 9:30 a.m., and by 11:00 it was very, very crowded. Loved that it is a family owned restaurant.. . I feel the price was terrific for a buffet and champagne. Definitely will be back. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Connie for such a nice dining experience. I came on a Sunday, non-holiday and loved the relaxed feel to it. There were plenty of four tops to sit myself, but I parked myself at the bar liking the relaxed nature of it all.

I went here not expecting much in spite of the good reviews. I have have been disappointed many times when relying on reviews. This place is just awesome. We were warmly greeted. Our server was attentive, energetic and very communicative about the status of our order. The bloody mary was served as described, which seems to be a novelty around here, and was perfectly balanced. The hubby had mai tai that was hand shaken with fresh fruit juice. We had the fried pickles which were fresh, crispy and tangy. My salad was also fresh and crisp with homeade dressing and my husband LOVED his burger. We have finally found a place we can frequent with great service and a comfortable atmosphere. I can’t wait to try more of their menu items. Yay!
