LOVE this place. It’s like a little coffee shop diner with amazing food. It’s pretty pricey, but the portions are HUGE! My husband and I usually spilt a meal and leave completely satisfied. Anything I’ve had here has been delicious. Their dinner salad is yummy and they have the best ranch dressing. I’ve had anything from their fish and chips to their chicken strips to the chicken fried steak. Man, this is seriously making me hungry! Their rolls are the best, too! Their desserts are simply amazing! The have THE best peach cobbler and don’t forget to get it ala mode! Every time my brother and his family or my dad and step mom visit, this is normally a top contender for eating out. It’s a place where families can come together. A place with the friendliest staff. A place you can get a really good meal. It’s all what keeps us coming back!

We went to Mossman’s today for the fish and chips they are so famous for. We haven’t had it in a long time and instead have been getting our fix at Lengthwise. Comparably Mossman’s is a 5 and Lengthwise a 10. The fish wasn’t seasoned nor were the fries and the tartar sauce was the consistency of a thin flavorless soup. I actually left fish on my plate and that is unusual for me. Very disappointing.

I love to eat here but the last few times was not ok. I didn’t get my food to go I sat and ate and inside my cup look like someone put mud in my cup. The next week I got my food to go and there was hair in my food… Not sure what’s going on here but I don’t think I will be back for a long time…

Fyi, I’m not a pro. I’m just a normal guy who loves to eat. I started Unilocaling so that I may help others find delicious places to eat. I have seen this restaurant on Unilocal many times, but I never checked it out until now. This place is actually located right by(if not, inside) the bowling alley on Wible Rd. It’s almost hidden and the small entrance doesn’t do a great job at attracting attention. Right upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely waitress named Susie. She had a great attitude and she welcomed us with a smile. We were already off to a good start. As we waited for our food we noticed a few flies in the area. They became a bit annoying. However, Susie charmed us with her personality and she continuously had our drinks full to the brim. We soon forgot about the flies. The food finally came out and it looked delicious. It wasn’t the best presentation in the world, but still looked great. At the first bite into my hash browns I felt they were a bit too«buttery.» I was on the fence about that. Yes, it gave it a nice crispy finish to the hash browns, but they felt a bit too greasy. The meat lovers omelet was delicious. I had requested jalapenos as well, but did not feel a bit of heat in the omelet, unfortunately. The toast was soft and warm. My friend had a Denver omelet and some pancakes. I was only able to try a bit of his pancakes. They felt a bit overdone, but they were still good. The service was an easy 4 – 5 stars. I felt comfortable and the waitresses were always smiling. The food was about 3 stars. I think this place can do a lot better. They have the potential to be one of those rockstar hole in the wall places. I will return to try their country fried steak and I hope that motivates me in upgrading them to 4 stars.

No bueno! We visited for fish and chips. Sorry but we’ve had better and much less oily at Coconut Joes and roughly for the same price. Trust me there fish and chips aren’t all that. When Carl’s Jr had the fish and chips it was even better for being a food chain and you’d get more for your buck. For biscuits and gravy I’d go to Circle Deli way wayyyyy better. At this place, there is a plateau once you hit it, its like what else do they have to offer. You’ll eventually look for a better alternative for food or the fish and chips! Here’s a tip, take a weekend trip to Catalina Island and on the pier is a seafood café(the very first café on your left you see). You want fish and chips fresh out the ocean water go HERE!!! You will die to go back. We have!

Staying next door and needed lunch… This place is with a bowling alley. Has table service as well as a walk up counter for the bowling alley or Togo/takeout orders Had the fish n chicken combo Fish was breaded and fried perfectly Chicken was as well Love the crinkle cut fries. The coleslaw is simple and a perfect comment to the meal. My bread was stale but bet it’s awesome when fresh.

Thought I’d try the coffee shop inside of the bowling alley. I opted for the budget salad. It was $ 7.99 and came with diced tomatoes, deli ham and turkey, eggs and celery(I omitted). They serve it tossed and in a soup bowl. The lettuce was the basic dollar bag kind with shredded veggies. For the price I though it wasn’t much. I asked for blue cheese dressing which they make by adding blue cheese to ranch. Wth? Weird. I can say as a positive the waitress was darling and the patrons(lots of seniors) were cute to people watch. Next time I think I will have the fish and chips they are known for instead.

Don’t go for breakfast! Small breakfast menu priced too high my opinion. Very basic and blan. Not even close to standards of coffee shop status. Two Thumbs down.

That 5-star rating is solely for their FISHANDCHIPS. The batter is light, flavorful, and well worth stopping for whenever you’re in Bakersfield. The restaurant’s located in a clean, well-kept bowling alley; so if you’re snotty about those kinds of things, then go get a pole and find a lake(to jump into!). The waitresses are friendly, and I haven’t had anything else on their menu. However, I wanted some of their legendary fish’n’chips to remind me of when I used to eat it back when I went to Cal. St. Bakersfield. Sure enough, I wasn’t disappointed one bit.

I’ve been loving this place for years. It’s my favorite fish and chips in town. The fish is always well battered and tasty, along with lemon and malt vinegar. I usually order the fish and chicken strips to have a little of both, along with chili cheese on the fries. The coleslaw is sweet, and I’m not really into it, but I’m not a coleslaw guy.

You wouldn’t expect the best food in town to be in a bowling alley but it is! Easily the best fish & chips, chicken tenders and burgers in town. We had the fish & chips as an appetizer for a group of 12. We order 2 pounds of fish and it was worth it. Then we ordered the Hammer(turkey sandwich with bacon on sourdough), chicken tenders(buttermilk batter!), French dip(really juicy and delicious!) a full stack with awesome bacon! Don’t be put off by the bowling alley and try this place out. It’s worth it!

I am not the biggest fish and chips fan. And, my family always wants to hit this spot up. I never understood the hype, until I went with the sis-in-law and ordered the egg salad sandwich(which isn’t on their new updated menu but still available) and it was the best egg salad sandwich ever… not loaded with a bunch of junk… fresh, tasty, and simple. Shortly after, I had a craving and dragged the hubby back with me. He had the chicken fried chicken. He said it beat 24th Street Café(what??? not possible you say? Well, I had to agree). Jamie was our server and she kept everyone’s drink full and everyone entertained while she ran a one man show. My hubby and I both agreed that we need to put this on our list of go to’s. I totally get it now… they do what they do and they do it with excellence. That’s why they’ve been doing it for decades.

They’re known for some really good fish and chips, and that’s definitely true. Mossman’s serves their fish in bite-size pieces rather than the traditional half-filet. Some Englishmen might find that sacrilegious, but really it’s not so bad when you find out that it’s quite convenient to eat them in pieces. The batter is crispy and light while the fish itself stays flaky, never tough or dry. The tartar sauce they serve is literally the best I’ve ever tasted. The chips/fries are nothing special… pretty much your standard cut of potatoes from every diner. Try the fish with onion rings, theirs is actually quite good. The slaw is also tasty– just cabbage and dressing. Simple and effective. Service was really fast when I went. The place was packed due to people bowling and ordering take outs. But the staff was anticipating that. We even got seated just ten minutes or so from the time we arrived despite the crowd. Mossman’s was really hectic, but our food came out quickly and our server definitely found the time to make sure our drinks were filled. Plus, it’s definitely a bonus that you can reserve a lane and bowl a few squares before, during, and after your meal.

I read that they serve breakfast all day and I am always looking for a new place that is close to home other than Denney’s. Unfortunately they were not better although there were both good and bad things about my meal. I had the three pieces of bacon with one egg and hash browns that came with either toast or a biscuit and gravy for $ 5.99. I chose the biscuit and gravy. The egg and hash browns were good. The strips of bacon were large and crisp. But the biscuit was dry and the gravy lacked enough flavor for my tastes. In all fairness I still have yet to find a place that makes biscuits and gravy better than my own.

Fish and Chips are not as good as Westchester Coffee Shop. I don’t know why because I believe they are both owned by the same people. I’ll still order the fish n chips each time I’m here before working it off by bowling next door. As for the rest of the menu, I have not tried anything else. I’d still recommend the fish n chips cause it is good. I would stop short of calling myself a fan though therefore just 3 stars from me. A couple of things that I do like is the location which is inside the bowling alley on Wible Road, and I like the fact that there is never a wait whenever we go there so service is quick!
