This place is pretty nice for a fast food place. Even the bathrooms were clean and seating were spacious. This is what I say a gourmet fast food. As I were driving back home, I wanted something quick to eat as I didn’t want to go home super late(I had a 7hr drive). This showed up on Unilocal and had good ratings so I decided to try it out. I had ordered the half chicken half beef plate. To my surprise, it came out looking beautifully as it was neatly packed and garnished. It also tasted pretty good. The meat wasn’t lacking in flavor nor was the rice overcooked or undercooked. The side salad was fine too. Would’ve been better with more sauce but that’s ok. The portion size is also pretty large. It was more than enough to feed both my girlfriend and I. Their sauce was also good. It goes well with the meat for that extra flavor. It came out in like 5 minutes. Was definitely quite and exceeded my expectations. Definitely one of the nicer fast food stops that I’ve been too.

This place is nice. Very nice staff and helpful with the menu. The food was good for the most part. The beef is marinated in some teriyaki sauce, as it is a little sweet. The chicken though, is a bit bland and lacks seasoning. The rice and vegetables were good as well. The sauces: the«magic sauce» is a teriyaki sauce that has way too much salt. Please use this with caution, as this will ruin your dish if your pour it on. «Hot sauce» is pretty much hot vinegar, as it resembles wing sauce. «Hot hot» sauce is the best one, as it has good jalepeno flavor and good heat. This is strong, be careful. Overall, this place is nice. Be careful of the sauces. As a healthy restaurant, they need to add more vegetables and reduce the amount of rice.

For those of you who have to eat gluten free, get the chicken bowl with no sauce. Yay for GF options!

One star as this place is lame. I asked to put my veggies on the side and was told it could not be done. Upon asking the cashier why, I was told she just couldn’t. I was told Andrew the supervisor would fire her if she did it??? I am very understanding but to get no explanation for something as simple as this is ridiculous! I would have gladly paid for the extra bowl if that was the case;however, I guess I’ll never now because it just can’t be there in a minute done. On a side note it would be nice if they had a purse hook in the restroom so you don’t have to put your purse/diaper bag on their dirty floor.

Flame Broiler is a quick, cheap and easy dinner option. I don’t think I have ever had anything but the beef bowl with veggies and no cabbage. It is always good but took a few times to nail the perfect amount of magic sauce. They have a few other options, but why mess with success. The magic sauce is just that, magic and makes everything better. The parking lot is super tight after work, with Dickies and the Gym it’s just not suited for that amount of traffic.

This has pretty much become go-to fast food establishment as of late. Their menu is nice and simple and they accept phone orders, so there’s not much waiting involved. It’s a little pricey when compared to other rice bowl restaurants, but it’s also a higher quality product. Every now and then I try to watch what I eat, so I stick to the chicken veggie bowl with brown rice. The chicken is always moist and the veggies are nice and crispy. The hot sauce is a Louisiana-style hot sauce, but the healthier option to the magic sauce. The magic sauce is your garden variety teriyaki sauce, so nothing too magical about it.

I admit that I am not really into eating healthy. I love fattening, greasy, and oily foods. I also love sweets! As my fellow Unilocalers have mentioned, the Flame Broiler makes some good healthy food. That is not really my thing. Their beef bowls and chicken bowls taste too bland to me. Guess I should add more«magic» sauce to give it some flavor. Bottom line is I’d rather go to Kento’s for their bowls or pay a bit more and go to Phở 88 further down the strip mall for my Asian food fix.

It’s good for what it is. Fast, cheap, healthy, and it’s right next to the apt. I ordered the BEEFANGUS and the CHICKENBOWLSWITHVEGGIES. Beef was a bit rough, but it wasn’t bad. I think it’s an extra 5 cents for the vegetables. You can choose between white or brown rice, your choice of meat, and whether you want green onions or not. Their magic sauce is just Teriyaki sauce. Convenient spot for lunch!

Mom and I like to eat heathy whenever we can, so we’re always on the lookout for new restaurants that qualify, particularly if it is healthy FASTFOOD, so you can imagine how excited we were to try out the new Flame Broiler restaurant on Coffee Road. I ordered a beef veggie bowl and mom ordered the chicken veggie bowls. The bowls were both simply constructed consisting of rice, steamed broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and green onions. The meat is marinaded and grilled(not fried) but the best part is that it isn’t drowned in a sugary sauce. You have the option of eating it the way it comes, topping it with magic(it’s not really magic, it’s teriyaki) sauce, and/or the hot sauce. I really appreciate the fact I get to choose how much of each sauce to use. Mom used a little of the teriyaki sauce and I used a little teriyaki and a LOT of the hot sauce. It’s healthy. It’s tasty. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s not horribly expensive, either. I’m not convinced that it is definitively better than Kento’s, but it’s a contender.

I was very impressed with this business! The menu is very simple and straight forward, not overloaded with too many choices. The food is healthy, no MSG, no fried food, no trans fat… so it’s a healthy option! I had the«Works Bowl» with chicken/steak/fresh veggies/rice and it was very filling and only at 520 calories a great alternative to a burger. I am going to try one of the plates next time but I’m pretty sure I will have plenty of «Works Bowls» in the future. The only problem is we need more of these in Bakersfield!!!
