We showed up at 6:30 on a Friday and we were the only ones in the bar for the next hour. We hung out with the owner and she regaled us with hilarious stories about Fell’s Point over the last 34 years that this bar has been open. After an hour, more people started showing up, but it was still a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Good selection of scotch. She specifically doesn’t have any super ultra high end scotches($ 80/glass like you’d get at Jack Rose). Her most expensive is $ 40 a glass, but most of them are around $ 15 for incredibly generous pours. Overall, a very friendly and comfortable place to hide from the general chaos of Fell’s. Oh, and it’s BYOF if you want to eat.

For whiskey connoisseurs or for whiskey newbies, this place is great to grab and few drinks with friends. The couple that owns the place is always helpful with recommendations and make great conversation. If you’ve been hoping to try that really expensive bottle of whiskey before making the splurge yourself this place is an awesome tasting opportunity. I warn you though that some of the pours can be quite large so you might need to go quite often before you get to all of the ones you wanted to try!

If you are looking for someplace different than the new large trendy places encroaching around the water in Baltimore or the great, divey but all very similar bars in Fells Point, AND you like Whiskey or Scotch, take a stroll over this way. The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable, quiet, very unassuming, small and intimate. There is no trendiness or pretense here. This place has had the same owner for decades and has a wealth of knowledge about any of the spirits if you have any questions(She also has quite a few interesting stories). Even if you are not a scotch or whiskey drinker, there are other options here. This is a fantastic place to unwind and decompress by yourself or with a group of friends. We will definitely make it a point to re-visit.

Excellent atmosphere, great selection of whiskeys served in generous portions, and bartenders who understand that their customers are there to socialize. An environment that lends itself to engaging with other patrons. Will be my go-to after-work bar for my stay in Baltimore.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about this place. Inside of the bar is very interesting. It feels like you’re at your grandma’s living room. It’s much quieter compared to other bars so it makes for place for good conversations. The bar seems to draw a certain crowd. It’s overall a great place for whiskey/scotch, neither of which I really like. But I do like that it’s quieter, and different compared to most bars(though can appear a little pretentious at times).

To be clear, I’m not a whiskey drinker. I’ve tried to like it, but simply cannot. So this review is not so much about the drinks as it is about the service and ambiance. My bf and I stopped by on a Saturday night. It was quaint, small, and incredibly comfortable(like I was in someone’s cozy home). The crowd was local and more mature(definitely not the typical Fells Point bar crowd). And the lady behind the bar was friendly and gave VERY generous pours. Perhaps that’s why I think she’s friendly? Hmmm… anyhow, besides their Whiskey menu, they also had a short list of beer and wine options. I had a glass of Zindafel and for $ 4, I don’t really have a reason not to like it.

This is a unique establishment that has the finest scotch served by a very knowledgeable bartender. I love the atmosphere here. It is a nautical themed bar and fits in very well with historic Fell Point. The backroom is also cool. It feels like sitting in your grandmother’s basement — in a good way — if that makes sense! Big plus — the pours are generous!

This place is a die hard Whiskey bar. Now, don’t be shy and think that you don’t belong here just because you don’t know a lick of Whiskey. On the contrary, the lady that runs the shop will gladly recommend a glass based off your personal preference. The few things that I miss from my earlier travels here, is that it became too popular over the past couple of years. It’s not a bad thing, but sometimes you wished that you could just drink said Whiskey in a more private manner.

Great place for whiskey/scotch. Great bartender — she has been running the place on her own for 20 – 30 years. She practically knows all the drinks and even what is happening outside her establishment. If you need recommendation for a drink, coming in for something new or coming as a newbie, go on ahead and ask her for her recommendation. If you need places to eat at, she also knows the restaurants around Fell’s Point and even the owners. When you enter, the places looks extremely tight and tiny, but there is a backroom if you keep walking to the back towards the restrooms. When you go in, get your drinks first and then head to the back. There are tables, couches, grandfather sofas, everything! Just hang out there, chat with your friends and relax with your glass of whiskey in your hand. The prices here are pretty great. The owner also is very generous with pouring drinks. Got«two» shots(actually a double shot size) for $ 14.

My new home away from home in Baltimore. I love the great Scotch selection, helpful and friendly bartender and the comfortable living room in the back. Great pours and an old Baltimore feel makes this place a winner. I didn’t even miss the techno beat and ravers that one finds in many other downtown establishments.

I can’t really explain a 5 star review for this place, but there it is. This is a very divey place on Aliceanna that you might miss as you walk by… but. go in… don’t freak out and leave right away… but go in and stay a bit. It has such a warmth and charm. The owner is a lovely woman who pours with a heavy hand. The décor reminds me of things that a wife may not let her husband hang up on the walls at home(and there’s an old metal Garfield trashcan!) And, if you are into ghosts, there is definitely a spirit in the ladies room ;)

I love this place. The only complaint I would be able to make is that there really isn’t any food served here to compliment your Scotch(outside of potato chips lol) — but I don’t think food is the point of this place in the slightest. This is one of the largest Scotch collections on the east coast I’ve been told(outside of NYC) so the selection is dizzying. I really enjoy coming here and chilling out on the couches that are in the back. Alicia(the proprietor) is quite literally the only person that I will let pick out a whiskey for me. She is a wonderful and incredibly interesting woman that can certainly talk your ear off about Scotch! She doesn’t skimp on your Scotch either — we’re talking 2 – 3 fingers depending on how big yours are lol Strike up a conversation with the people here as this place is popular with the locals in Fells.

I came here on a rainy Saturday night and am obsessed with this place now. It sort of feels like you’re in someone’s basement(in a good way) with a great selection of scotch, heavy pours, and even cheap wine and beer for your friends who are less into whiskey. Our small group of four sat towards the back on the couches and enjoyed the fireplace, a card game or two, and the friendly clientele. We were going to move on to another bar after a drink or two, but ended up staying there until close!

Super quaint Scottish pub! It’s a mom and pop pub with a mega list of Scottish whiskies. I ordered an Irish beer and it was nice and crisp. You don’t have to drink whiskey, just ask the bartender(the owners) what they recommend. They also have a back room for groups. Come here for a quiet drink with friends. Pro-tip: perfect for a first date drink.

Very friendly staff, whiskey /scotch selections are larger than anywhere in Fells Point /Canton area(Southern Living Magazine states they offer more than 120 single malts). Previously my friends and I came here and without no explanation the doors were locked at 8pm on a Saturday. So a few weeks later we tried again, but we walked into an empty bar. Unfortunately there is no longer food service and we were told a recent group left to grab a bite away from the restaurant. The menu can be a lot for someone to take in if they are not a scotch drinker, which made our experience slightly overwhelming. We chose a 12 year single malt(sorry I forgot the name) and like anything that has been carefully aged, my choice was excellent for someone with my inexperience. Prices are a fair for the selection, but slightly over priced. Though this is than different from of my normal drinking hole, this experience was still great and worth visiting for anyone or connoisseur — 4 stars.

Cozy, friendly, great bar staff(person). She was out of what I wanted(snow storm) but knew exactly what I was looking for and recommended a near-perfect substitute. Quite the hidden gem among countless terrible Bro/Frat invested establishment which seem synonymous with Fells Point.

A wide selection of some of Scotland’s finest offerings. Come here if you want to enjoy your whiskey in a calm, welcoming environment. No loud music or annoying patrons. The owner is the bartender, and she knows her trade. Generous pours. Respectable prices on some of the more«harder to find» scotches. Great place to go to not only learn about scotch itself, but also to learn what type of scotch drinker you would be!

Birds of a feather flock together… and I’m pretty sure all the scotch/whisky connoisseurs in Baltimore flock here. And for good reason: it is a gem of a bar in Baltimore. It’s certainly not your typical bar. The interior is calm and inviting with its beautiful woods and warm lighting. Classical music plays in the background. It’s incredibly easy to strike up a conversation with the owner or other patrons… there is a kind of camaraderie that is shared between everyone there – after all, by just being there, you are implying you appreciate the art and nuances of scotch(or are at least willing to learn). Of course, all of this could lead to a stuffy, pretentious atmosphere… but Birds of a Feather avoids that. According to the website, there are over 120 scotches to pick from. The menu has the scotches listed by geography and even has a taste map that categorizes your scotch by its characteristics. It can be a little overwhelming if you don’t have a good knowledge of scotch and whiskey. It was for me at least. But no worries, I talked to the owner/bartender who asked a few questions on what I liked and what I didn’t like and proceeded to recommend and pour a Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old whisky. She was right on point. I had wanted something lighter and less peaty and the Dalwhinnie was malty and was even a little on the fruity side. All the while, the bartender/owner would tell some interesting stories about her life. With all due respect to Dos Equis, the«Most Interesting Man in the World» doesn’t seem that interesting anymore. The prices for the whisky obviously vary but I believe mine was somewhere in the $ 10 range(a friend paid for the drink so I don’t remember exactly). I suppose on one hand you can consider that a little pricey. On the other hand, if you want to try lots of different types of single malts, it’s definitely a lot cheaper to try this than to buy an expensive bottle and realize you don’t like what you just bought. I liked this place. It had a very different vibe than your typical Baltimore bars and is truly a gem in the Fells Point area.
