So glad I did a Unilocal search for pit beef that was close to Ram’s Head Live(Sunday night concert). I found Hungry Andy’s. I ordered the pit beef plain(that is how I judge the taste with no toppings to mask the flavor) and fresh cut fries… Excellent sandwich and fries! The other menu items sound really good but once I found great tasting pit beef and fries, that is my go to food. I will be back Andy!

Hungry Andy’s a good place to go when you are hungry. Of course ! They are very generous with the amount they give you. Their menu is very creative. They have a variety of food to choose from. So hard to choose when everything seems so good.

Every time I go to Baltimore, I stop by here first before even checking in to wherever it is I’m staying. The Pit Beef – Hungry Andy’s signature sandwich – can’t be beat. The fries are to die for, and the cheesesteak(I get mine with pepper jack cheese) is absurd. Everything for cheap! I wish we had a Hungry Andy’s back in Jersey!

I ordered a cheesesteak sub and Andy(the owner) suggested the lunch special which included fries and a drink. Place seemed clean and service was quick. Andy was awesome and pleasant and even loaned me a spare rubber band. Lol. I’ll def be back.

We ordered online and the food was supposed to be delivered by 7pm but it was not delivered till 8! When we called they told me «there is nothing we can do about it, this is what it is». All I can say: Rude, irresponsible and no care for customer!

I ordered online on a typical week day and got my food after 2 hours, the lettuce in my salad wasn’t washed! I found a million tiny stones(!) in it! I had to toss it after waiting for 2 hours! Because if they can’t do something basic like washing the vegetables, who knows what the rest of the food will be like!

While the food has stayed consistent, some changes in the way they take orders has forced me to part ways with my favorite delivery for awhile. Third weekend in a row my order was incorrect/missing items, called only to let them know and was treated poorly on the phone. Giving this place an extensive break.

I had the chance to stop by this place with my lover and his friends from high school in tow. While we were deliberating of whether or not to come in and try this place, a woman on her way in strongly encouraged us to give it a shot. She seemed to be a regular. And so in we went. I had the Andy’s Fat Morning Glory with ribeye steak, three eggs, cheese, and fries with onion rings and clam strips. Someone got a mushroom ball. The service was great. Andy, actually worked with us to help us get the best deal on the food. It was really considerate of him. The ribeye was a bit dry, overcooked, and under-seasoned, but I loved the creativity in the menu. Eggs and ribeye, and fries in a sub was a fantastic idea. The execution could use more work, or maybe some kind of sauce to keep it flavorful and moist. The onion rings and clam strips were also very chewy. Possibly because the clams were overcooked. The onion rings did have a lot of crunch to them which was great, however, I wished we had more onion rings given the price. Overall, I gave this place 3 stars because while there were some issues with overcooked food, the service was really awesome and I think the menu is very creative and has a lot to offer. Perhaps I came in on an off day or other food items are more tasty and I just need to come back for another menu item. There’s definitely a lot of fun to be had with the menu options and I would bring friends here as a part of the Baltimore experience.

Miss Vicki’s was complete jammed up and had a line, so I tried Hungry Andy’s for the first time. It was a good choice. I can’t vouch for the entire menu, but I had a cheeseburger and the regular fries. The friendly order taker at the counter told me that I could have a «special», which was what I had ordered with a fountain soda for cheaper than the ala carte price, so I did that… had a burger, fries and drink for the grand total of $ 7 even, cheaper than Wendy’s but home-made. The burger was decent, though nothing special, the fries seemed home-made and were quite good. It’s a tiny place with about 10 tables and carry out service. Food came quickly and it was nice to sit at a table and watch the world go by out on Broadway. Give it a try!

FOOD: I ordered the onion pedal fries — oh lord, I don’t think there were actually any onions, I could only find fried batter. The chicken/cashew/pineapple salad with very dry, but good portion. The tiramisu was frozen. The part I ate of the latter was not as good as you can get from Whole Foods. I don’t know why I’m not giving this 2 stars but the food was edible and okay. SERVICE: Ordered in via food delivery service. Delivered within the time quoted — 1hr! I mean you just can’t expect much when delivery gives you an hour wait, for a place that is literally two blocks from your house! RECOMMEND: Um, not really. Tons of places in Baltimore, even within the block that serve the exact same quality/quantity. RETURN: Many places are the exact same in Fells/Canton or even Harbor East/Downtown

Solid 4 stars based on my single visit. Am in town for 2 days of work, decided to OD on Pit Beef. Went to Chaps on Pulaski Hwy made famous by celebrity chef and food lover sightings over the years. Had been there before and found it inconsistent and really subpar but went again to give it another chance. It was ok but nothing compared to what I ate at Hungry Andy’s yesterday. Ordered the same thing to make the comparison fair: Pit Beef Sandwich on a white roll with plain horseradish and raw onion. The beef was juicy, reasonably close to medium rare(Chaps has never really gotten this consistently right for me) and the roll was soft, fluffy, and most important, not soggy. Best of all, the flavor was totally beefy with just the right foil of oniony crunch and a late note of nose burning horseradish. Service was fast, friendly and the establishment was clean if but a bit small. Parking sucks as it is all street pay meter but worth it for the finished product. I’ll be back!

I just moved to Baltimore and have been looking for a good burger joint that delivers — enter Hungry Andy’s I came across this place today on Unilocal and thought I’d take a stab at it — and let me tell u, I was not disappointed! I ordered the Texas road house Burger(no bacon) with a fried egg on top and jalapeño’s and it was delicious! I like that they give you the option of how you want it cooked — I got it medium rare and it was the perfect balance between juicy, tender and tasty! The Onion rings on top are an excellent touch and give it that nice crunch when you take a bite I got the jalapeño poppers and the sweet potato fries just so that I could meet the minimum order amount and they were pretty good too I only gave it 4 stars bc when the burger, fries and poppers came they were a bit soggy, which is understandable but a bit disappointing to be honest — although the flavour explosion quickly compensated for that! I am sure if I had dined in it would have been just fine. I got the ‘bun less’ option which is a really nice option to have, and makes you feel like you are doing your part to stay healthy… All in all — its worth a try!

The Carolina Burger and sweet potato fries are my go-to choices here. They are just so good! Whether it’s delivery(from many app choices: Order up, grub hub, Eat24), pick-up, or eat-in, the food you get here will be the best you’ve ever had. «Come hungry, leave full» is not just the slogan here, it is the truth! You should go out of your way to eat here. :)

I generally enjoyed this place till my last order, I had a big fly in my green salad. This means the lettuce wasn’t even rinsed throughly.

I went to Hungry Andy’s for lunch one day when I was craving a cheesesteak and this place definitely delivered. The sandwich was great, the service was fast. I got a side of fries with my order and they were decent… although considering the size of the sandwich next time I would probably skip the fries. Definitely don’t go in here if you want a really nice place to sit and hang a while, but it’s perfect for a quick lunch in the middle of the day and provides exactly what you’d expect: good, greasy favorites at a low price and a fast rate.

This fun little burger shack has an impressive menu(though short on vegetarian offerings) at a reasonable price. The staff was quick and friendly, and I ended up with a great lunch. Sandwiches and burgers start out at 7 dollars and go up to 10 — tack on 2.80 for fries and a soda, and you have a very generous lunch. They even have a lunch deal of a Caesar wrap with fries and a coke on the board for 8.50… I found out after I paid 9.80. The Caesar wrap had fresh lettuce, juicy chicken and tasty dressing(though maybe a tad too much for my taste). The fries were generously salted and not too oily. I’ll update this as I try more items — since the burger I saw come out looked phenomenal. The only star is lost for there use of Styrofoam in everything from fries(even when dining in) to fountain drinks. Sure, its nice to have your drink cold 3 hours later… but this seems like a lot of Styrofoam for no real gain. Still — I’ll be coming back, because I see a lot of promise in this little gem.

Not many places deliver to my area, and the few that do are exceptionally bad. Hungry Andy’s is definitely not one of those places. Onion pedal kickers, old bay fries, mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini — all super yummy. The fried zucchini is actually my favorite side. It’s just super tasty and the breading is crisp and seasoned. Dip it in some marinara or barbeque sauce or honey mustard or ranch or anything and aaaaah. Cheesteak(once with whiz/onions, once with provolone/onions/mushrooms) — confirmably delicious. Buffalo chicken wrap — YUM. Carolina burger — so messy but worth it. Cowboy burger — THIS is my go-to here. I hardly want to try anything else out! The menu is extensive, and for delivery sandwiches, it’s one of the best. A few things to point out: Grubhub orders are fast. We’ve never waited longer than 35 minutes for anything, and the orders have always been correct. They have coupons, too — I always forget to use them. Delivered sodas are out of their machine. They put the lids on, tape over the straw hole, and bag them individually. It’s a bit odd, but acceptable as we’ve never gotten messy from it. $ 15 minimum means you can’t order food just for one — or you just order an extra thing for the next day. Ahem. I haven’t done that or anything. Ahem. They put lettuce in the hot wraps, which tastes good if you’re eating it fresh but not so good once the wrap is cold. I order mine without the lettuce now. To Hungry Andy’s: You do what we need, more than we expect, and never disappoint. For that, we, the lazy girls of Castle Street, thank you.

Um, no. We stopped in after checking Unilocal for a great pit beef sandwich in Fells Point and were really disappointed. The sandwich was full of overdone, fatty slices of beef in the sloppiest sandwich I ever had. The bun was squishy and wet, and you couldn’t take a bite of the sandwich without half the filling coming out. I finally just ate the beef with my fingers after pulling off the excess fat. The fries were much more successful — very crispy and delicious. Not sure what the big deal is about this place. I’m sure there is better pit beef to be had elsewhere in MD. Service was friendly and the place was reasonable clean. I did like the old record jackets on the wall — Neil Young and Warren Zevon!

This is one of my favorite cheap lunch spots, the pit beef /pulled pork items are excellent, the portions are generous and the service is always solid. I wish they were open later on the weekends. It’s nothing fancy but I’ve never had a bad meal from them.

For the price, this place provides you with very generous portions of food. I first strolled in here looking for just some late night grub but was surprised at the quality I received. The BBQ pulled pork burger was served with a very generous portion smothered with BBQ sauce. I added coleslaw to the sandwich to balance out the heavy flavors and would recommend you do the same. However, I should note that the sauce is a bit on the sweeter side. The fish and chips were quite good however, in contrast to the portions the fried fish was a bit small. The quality of the fish though was top notch and was breaded and fried perfectly. The side of tartar sauce goes perfectly with the fried fish.
