CAPTAIN CRUNCH FRENCH TOAST. Try it. It’s amazing. Also, they let me show my art on their walls, so definitely check out and Instagram the art when you go.

I’ve been here before — the other location — and as always, I’m never let down. After an hour wait, we were seated at the bar to order the Red Velvet short stack and Vegetables pancakes. The side of bacon was the best damn bacon I’ve ever ate! So crispy, and perfectly greasy but not overly. The Red Velvet pancakes — as the other pancakes — needed no syrup, butter, or extras that wouldn’t enhance it. To go — I grabbed a Captain Crunch french toast — that I also demolished without syrup. Like the motto, IT’S WORTHTHEWAIT!

Incredible! Open 24 hrs. Huge portions. Priced well, great atmosphere. Friendly, fast service. Hot, great tasting coffee. Check out the pics! This place is right on the corner with a blue awning. Go up the stairs into breakfast nirvana all day long. Note: only one check per table, they said they can’t split it, so, make sure at least one of you can cover all of it if need be. Overall, I’d say 4.5 stars cause of the check thing, but, food was so good, I’m rounding up to 5.

Do you like diners? Then you will like it here. Do you hate diners? Then you will hate it here. Is there anything unique? Nope. The cinnamon roll is gooey, insanely sweet, and… well not that different from cinnabon. The eggs and sausage were good but… eggs and sausage are always good. I can make that. In fact, in the 100 foot journey or the Food network when chefs are told to make an omelet, I don’t get that. Omelets aren’t that hard to make. The short order cook guy at the UCLA cafeteria made good omelets. I make good omelets and no one’s ever paid me to cook for them. What were we talking about? Oh yeah, Blue Moon Café. I forgot. And I’m going to forget about this place too because it’s a typical diner.

Great service and an AMAZING menu all PERFECTLY prepared is what’s in store for you when visiting Blue Moon Café!! But also a long wait, so get there early. They are well worth the wait! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The menu truly is outstanding! The cinnamon buns are incredible! The Huevos Rancheros are SPICY, but very tasty! Hash browns are some of the best we’ve enjoyed in a long time. Biscuits & gravy — OUTOFTHISWORLD! Coffee is perfect too! Overall the visit was everything we had hoped for and more… Give the a try!!! We will definitely be back!

Generous 3 stars. We came here based on high Unilocal reviews and the place seemed decent for second brunch grub. ½ hour wait is bearable because it’s located in an area where you can go shopping /grab a coffee /etc etc. Ordered their cinnamon bun — so. disappointing. It reminded me of a spongy cake dipped in an insane amount of sugar. I like that they have it «homemade» but seeing that they take one out and stick it in the microwave just doesn’t cut it for me. It comes out mushy, gooey, and cakey(weird texture). Anyway, skip if you want to avoid diabetes. I miss Denver Biscuit Company’s HUGE rolls — way more delicious. Also on order was there sausage, eggs, and french toast. Sausage was pretty tasty. Overall, ok place but possibly its famed took something from them(they were on Guy’s Triple D). PS — Didn’t try their famed Cap’n Crunch french toast but I’ve had those back in LA so didn’t feel the need to revisit.

Well this is my second visit at this establishment, my first time was before I was an Unilocaler. It was self seating when my friends and I walked in but We were greeted immediately. I ordered the Blue Moon Special which is 2 pancakes, 2 bacon, and eggs at a cost of $ 9.95. The bacon is slab bacon and it was really tasty and cooked perfect(no flabby uncooked parts). The eggs were cooked hard but that is how I ordered them and the cheddar cheese was sharp how I love it, the serving size was nice as well. The pancakes were huge, I only ordered two, but they did not taste good and one was not cooked/mixed right. The first pancake crumbed as soon as I tried to cut it, it was so bad that I did not want to eat it, so I put it in a napkin to show the server. the pancake was not hot when it was served, it was rather lukewarm. It is funny because when I came to Blue Moon the first time for the captain crunch French toast it was great(so darn good and they gave me my fruit). Also my friend and I had to ask for whipped cream and fruit that is served with the pancakes… when we asked our server replied«oh you wanted that!» they did bring it out one after our request, I never received mine. I did not raise a fuss. its just not in my spirit. I did not enjoy my pancakes at all and I informed my server who just said«oh ok» proceeded to get our plates, We kindly paid our bill and left a tip.

Two words: Captain Crunch French Toast… Wait… I guess that’s four words. But that is all I’ve ever had here. And it’s just as amazing as the first time I had it like 10 years ago or so. I haven’t checked out the new spot yet, but I appreciate the cozy original. My only complaint is that it was tough to get my stroller up the stairs so I had to take multiple trips. Luckily, I came after the lunch rush, so I was able to sit in there all by myself(not including the baby).

Very friendly, very eclectic and homey. Be prepared to wait. I had the Sweet Baby Jesus which is as good and rich as it appears. My buddy had the other notorious menu item, Captain Crunch French Toast. I had a bite, and it was yummy. Coffee was quite good, too.

It pains me to give Blue Moon 3 stars, but, that’s really the best they could do. I used to LUUHHHHVE this place! On several occasions, the more than one hour wait(which is the norm) was fine by me because the food was soooo worth it. Ugh… I wish I could say that I still feel this way. — Hasty/borderline poor service: I get it, you’re slammed with people. But c’mon son. you KNOW that people hear about Blue Moon and they are excited to come! Don’t make people feel like they’re annoying you by simply showing interest in your place of business. Last time I checked, it’s the customers that keep restaurants in business… jus sayin. — Food: The Captain Crunch French Toast is still on point. However… today, they totally skipped out on the crab for the Crab and Pig eggs benedict! Our waitress rectified the situation by lowering the price… Nice save. Over time the quality of my experiences at Blue Moon have declined. I wish that they cared more about providing top notch service like they used to. I’m officially going on hiatus with them… I’ll check back later in 2016.

The food is delicious, the employees are friendly and so helpful and nice. The wait time was about 10 minutes. But so totally worth it, when you take a gaze of the plate and all that deliciousness. You would wanna past out. The food was just the right temperature to eat not to hot which was perfect. The price was 25 $ for two plates and the Cap’n Crunch all together. A little expensive for a high schooler. But somewhat worth it for this little luxury. The Cap’n Crunch and the Egg Benedict are must try when you go here. I highly Recommend it. I was waited on immediately as I sat down by the waitress which was a MAJOR bonus for me. The ambience is a little mix of rockstar Halloween but, wasn’t bad. I left out of there happy and full. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. And I would definitely recommend this place for a nice Sunday breakfast or afternoon. The breakfast here will be perfect for that.

The french toast is good. But we wait for almost an hour long to get seated in the weekend.

Went here on a Friday morning around 10AM. We came at a great time and were seated immediately. It’s hard to figure out who is seating you as you walk in and are immediately met with tables and chairs and have to walk through the place to find a worker. Ten minutes later there was a waiting list so we lucked out. Servers were nice enough, we had three different people take our orders, bring our food, etc. At one point(we only had drinks) we were asked to switch tables. Merrr. Anyways — I have a sweet tooth so of course went with the specialty — cap’n crunch french toast. OMG. So delish. Soft, but crunchy, and piping hot. Got a side of hashbrowns and they were plentiful for the price. Fiancé and friend both got egg dishes and it was a lot of food for the price and definitely seemed to hit the spot. So — a great bargain and delicious food if you get there at the right time. If I had to wait more than a half hour, my review would probably read differently. Some additional notes: — Everyone stares at you when you walk in. since there is no hostess stand you just get super vibed when you walk in because there’s a jingley door so staff can hear when someone new walks in. — That was definitely not fresh-squeezed OJ. and no liquor license? — That also did not taste like Zeke’s… but I guess we’ll take your word for it because your food is so damn good. — Need to try cinnamon roll ASAP. — Very thankful I’m a small person when I’m in a tight squeeze joint like Blue Moon.

Coming back here after years of being away… It is pretty much the same… And yet not the same… The building which looks a repurposed like a row house, is off to side of the main drag. But walkable to the square. 2 hour parking all around. You may need it all too. The line was still the same. Popular as ever! Walk in, put your name down and be prepared to wait… Is it worth it? :) The décor looks the same, but for some reason does feel the same… Maybe it just feels less gritty and more commercialized… The cinnamon roll is huge. But it quality the day I went wasn’t as good as I remembered. The size was… I think it may have needed to be heated up more and more icing… Sigh… Such high hopes… But then. My breakfast. It did not disappoint. It was just as I had remembered! G and G scramble. Everything is piled on each other. Bacon. Eggs. Hashbrowns… Sausage gravy!!! Mmmmm… Portion is big… Another meal it is! Alas no room for anything more… But would come back if around.

As a million people have already said, the Captain Crunch French Toast is it. Absolutely delicious. It is veeeerrrrrry rich, but the whipped cream and fresh fruit help to cut down on that richness. Great dish. I tried the hashbrowns, and they were typical. Nothing necessarily special. My husband got a cinnamon roll and an omelet. He seemed to have enjoyed them both. Waitress was really friendly. Food didn’t take long either. Wait was acceptable. I’d go back.

A friend of mine had recommended this spot for huge portions and tasty breakfast fare. The concept is diner food, with a personal touch-the chef and her family incorporate their personality into every nook and cranny in the place as well as what’s reflected on the menu. My husband got the Capt’n Crunch French Toast which he enjoyed, and I got the Veggie Potato Pancake. The portions are indeed ridiculously large. The cinnamon roll that’s free to start was large enough to feed a small family. The potato pancake was ok, but needed hot sauce and some salt to give it more flavor. There were two pancakes the size of a child’s head. All the leftovers went to a homeless person. Service was prompt, no frills, and non intrusive. We didn’t have to wait for a table but as we were dining the place filled up. Breakfast isn’t my favorite meal, and though they are open 24 hours on the weekends, I don’t know that I would go out of my way.

A birthday treat from Hubster. Breakfast is good for any time of day, any celebration. They are usually very crowded on the weekend when they are 24 hrs so going on a Tuesday we avoided the crazies. You seat yourself when you enter, the place is not large at all. Greeted with a menu and water in less than a minute. Awesome. Some of the best service I have encountered. Cap’n Crunch French Toast… my gawd… so good. Not too sweet, just carefully thought through and good. The omelette was devineeeeeee… the homemade cinnamon roll. Jesus. Worth a wait if you can’t avoid going during non peak hours. The iced tea was great, lemon and mint and I believe they change the flavors often. You know how you may eat something a little sweet and then not want to drink anything because the sweetness lingers in your mouth??? Well you can still drink the tea and taste the flavors. That’s how you know it’s good. It’s worth your time. I promise. You will dream about the food in the nap you want to take after you est all that goodess. Street parking available. Remember it is small, just so quaint, delicious, artsy and fresh. Just go!

Where does one even begin??? Everything you’ve read, heard, imagined about Blue Moon is pure truth!!! I’m not one to wait 45 minutes for a table for breakfast, but dear Lord I am glad that I did. You will compare ALL future breakfasts to this breakfast. I’m not exaggerating. First off… when they ask you if you want to start out with a homemade hot cinnamon roll to share… just say YES. You aren’t here because you’re concerned about over-eating. You are here to indulge. More than likely you won’t finish the cinnamon roll(if you do, DON’T be ashamed!!), it’s just wonderful to snack on while you wait for your breakfast. Think of it as a breakfast appetizer… if you’re trying for reason with yourself. Based on reviews and my daughters recommendations(and the fact that it’s FAMOUS) I ordered the Captain Crunch French Toast with a side of bacon…’cause why not. Plus I like salty with my sweet. Not only is it beautiful to look at, it’s Heaven on a plate. So delicious!!! My daughter ordered the Sweet Baby Jesus… rightfully named. Think of the best eggs Benedict you’ve ever eaten with heaps of lump crab… now think of baby Jesus blessing said eggs Benedict. Can I get an AMEN??! It’s that blessed good. I am not ashamed to say that we cleaned our plates. Every last morsel. This is true food love. Best. Breakfast. EVER. Hands down. FYI…they do not take reservations. So be prepared to wait. It’s worth it. And don’t be put off by the people watching you eat through the windows… smile at them, they are just salivating and wishing they were you.

This is the best bfast place in America. No I’m not over exaggerating. I won’t write too much because the deliciousness has already been described in several reviews The captain crunch french toast is SOOOO delish. I love love love it! The sweet baby jesus… really does make you want to thank JESUSSSS! So good. Always packed so don’t come here if you are starving and can’t wait a good 30 minutes to be seated. Very small dinning space. I heard that they may be opening another location… And I hope they do!!!
