Best happy hour in town. 310oz craft beers for $ 6, dinner specials every night. Food is solid. Bartenders are awesome and beers rotate almost daily. Definitely worth stopping in. Great Baltimore bar.

One of my favorite neighborhood haunts! Mahaffeys always has an awesome rotating selection of beer, friendly staff, and fun specials. Whether I’m grabbing a drink with a few girlfriends and my «niece» on Mommy Monday, or digging into sliders after a bike ride, there’s no shortage of great deals. One of my favorite things about Mahaffeys is how involved they are with the community: just check out their events page. Always an awesome go-to for happy hour!

Went there for 50 cent wings. Wings were okay, nothing great. Bar is very impressive and beer selection is great. Will try again.

Drinks and service are great. The $ 5 wing Wednesday is a great value and the wings are great, some of the best I’ve had since I’ve lived in Baltimore. It can be a bit tight and cramped when the bar is busy that’s my only complaint is there isn’t a lot of room to move around when it’s packed.

Mahaffeys-Properly cooked chicken wings are had too find Pro-Tip: Do not park in Safeway lot you will get towed. Probably one of the best happy hours around. 310-oz craft beers for $ 6. There is a food special every night. Furthermore aside from wings sauce out of the a jug really good wings. Too catch you up on history Mahaffeys was one of the first craft beer bars in Baltimore what’s more is they weren’t shy about putting out taps of beers nobody else had or heard of. They deserve credit for being the first guy through the wall. It good to see its hard to get a seat some nights now. For the uninitiated Mahaffeys has the old-timey typical Baltimore bar set-up. Narrow bar area with grill fryolater behind bar. There’s a seating area in the back and there is a second floor that is family oriented stuff for kids to play with and such. Which is cool cause you should try to teach your kids that you should be able to drink a beer in public and not act like a douche-bag. Service is really good and what you should expect from a bar that has regulars and people who pay their rent via tips. The food is good bar food. No Flaccid skin chicken wings here. The garlic fries are spot on as well. This bar is far enough to from Canton square to minimize the amount of Friday and Saturday night college binge drinker types. Otherwise the crowd is typical of Canton: Frank Sobotka types, the guy from legg mason who got transferred to Baltimore who is unsuccessfully trying to find reasons not to like it, people in «beer clubs», a Labrador Retriever named«jake» wearing a scarf as a collar and me judging everyone. Who are you too resist?

Absolutely awesome black bean burger and great selection on beers on tap or bottled. Definitely a hole in the wall but definitely worth it!

For a small neighborhood bar, they have an incredible craft beer selection that cheated regularly. I usually visit a few times and month and have never had the same beer twice. Haven’t had their food yet, but will update when I do. A must visit.

Mahaffey’s is a great bar. The staff is very personable which is a reason to go back all in itself. Their happy hour is one of the best around! You get 310oz draft beers for $ 6. The selection of drafts isn’t even miller lites, so you’re getting good quality beer for cheap prices. They even have happy hour during the weekends which is awesome. Their rosemary fries are nice to munch on while downing your 3fers. The grill is right up front so you can see them prepare your food if you’re in the bar area. They also some times have specialty events they hold in the upstairs bar which are fun to attend. If you haven’t already, I would definitely put this bar in your happy hour schedule!

Great beer selection and happy hour specials(310oz drafts for $ 6). The staff is friendly and great. It’s a neighborhood place with a slightly more diverse and older crowd where everyone seems to know each other. My one complaint is they never have cider :(

This was the starting point for a birthday bar crawl(pub golf) to be specific for my fiancé’s friend’s birthday a few weeks back. Dennis took great care of the whole bar and though it’s small, there were several people in there and I think he was the only one definitely the only bartender on a Saturday afternoon. There are a lot of beers on tap and bottle available, including some local brews I hadn’t tried. They have a sweet modern Jukebox and a few tables in addition to the maybe 15 seat bar. I don’t typically go out in Canton anymore but this place is just off the Square area and a friendly neighborhood watering hole. When we arrived they had a happy hour where three 10 oz pints for $ 6-can’t beat it!

Perfect for beer lovers! Huge beer selection and a beer club! This place is definitely a dive. Wearing jeans and a hoodie is almost too fancy but that’s their appeal. Decent food but you’re definitely going for the beer if you’re going to Mahaffey’s.

UPDATE: I am very pleased by my recent dining experience at Mahaffeys. Previously I had a poor experience dining, but during my recent visit I noticed they have updated their kitchen staff and it has definitely changed the food quality since my last review! Overall Mahaffey’s is still one of the best bars in and around the Canton /Fells Point area. One of the best aspects of this bar is its rotating beer list — I personally have been here week over week and can testify to the amazing beer selection Wayne and his crew offer weekly. Plus the three for ~$ 6 deal is unbeatable in the area based on the selection alone. Another plus are the weekly dinner deals — such as their very popular Wednesday wing night($ 5 for 10 wings smothered in delicious Captain Thom’s sauces) or their taco tuesday’s — one of the best happy hour deals in the entire city! I am happy I revisited this location as things have significantly improved and highly recommend this location to anyone in the area — 5 stars!

We went in around 9:30 on a Monday night to grab some food as this place was in walking distance. We have passed it several times and it always smelled good but we had yet to venture in. We are seriously glad we did, at least for the Monday Happy Hour. You can get 310OZ beers for $ 6(«Real» beer too, New Belgium, Full Tilt, etc) not just the local Boh or a Miller Lite. We sat at a table and the bartender quickly came over to give us the menus. We ended up taking part in the $ 1 sliders and the beer special. Took a bit to get the sliders, but it does mean they were made fresh which was nice. They were around 2OZ in size and were good, just slightly too well done for my taste(I know places often cook burgers medium well not medium). Overall a solid Monday night HH destination if you want some pub grub and beer. We’ll be back.

This review is only for the bar. Came just in time for HH, sat at the bar, and didn’t order any food(but I could smell and hear the fryer at the side of the bar). I LOVE their HH special: $ 6 for a threefur(310oz beers from their draft list) They have a solid list. It’s not quite as extensive as other spots, but not complaining for the price. Also, it seemed like they had a great bottle list as well. The place was crowded, but my friend was able to snag a spot at the bar. It’s loud, as a neighborhood bar should be, but never to the point where we weren’t able to hear each other.

I’m not sure that you come to Mahaffey’s for the food. It is something else entirely. My boyfriend and his friends are regulars, and I have gotten to know Mahaffeys as more an institution for those who enjoy good beers in low-key environments. There is absolutely no pretention in Mahaffeys, and we go there often enough that I recognize neighborhood regulars all the time. It’s a beer lover’s bar, a place to come for their great happy hours, pint nights(where you can take home a pint glass from chosen brewery if you order a beer from that brewery), and to get closer to having your name on a plaque on the wall(after drinking 100 types of beer). It’s a sports haven, a place where the owners recognize customer birthdays on their daily printed beer menus, and a bar where you can go for $ 2 tacos on Tuesday and $.50 wings on Wednesday. I don’t think anything on the menu says«gourmet,» but it’s bar food and it’s tasty. I might not have become a regular at Mahaffeys on my own, but I would say that now that I go with regulars, I understand its allure. There are not many(if any) bars that make the same effort to welcome everyone, and certainly, if you like good craft beer for cheap prices, you really can’t beat their ever-evolving selection. Mahaffey’s doesn’t have the flip cup parties, or the trivia nights, or the meat market vibe that many Canton bars have. That, alone, should probably make you a regular, too.

There are few places tht hook me on the first visit. Mahaffey’s is one of those places! Came here for a beer with my boyfriend one night a few months ago, and Alice immediately made us feel like regulars. After taking advantage of the awesome Happy Hour Trio special, she explained the Beer Club to us and we never looked back. There are daily food specials and the menu is well executed American Pub Food, including some of the best Fried Pickles I’ve ever had. Finally, made it to a Tuesday Steak Night(1st Tues of the month) and was blown away: Huge portion, expertly cooked, and includes a salad. The delicious, discerning, and constantly rotating draft list is not to be missed: 19 draft lines, 1 nitro line, and a cask selection! Get In Here!

Mahaffey’s is the«cheers» of Baltimore — I’m convinced. Walk in, the owners are a great couple who will always get to know their crowd. The night I went was customer appreciation for their crowd, they brought in homemade cookies and the woman owner offered me some! I felt so welcomed! They have a cool beer club where if you try X amount of beers you get a plaque on the wall. Eternal glory in a bar? Count me in! Although they keep a shorter list of variety, the taps are ALWAYS changing giving great variety. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find a lager and sure enough I did(and a stout I really liked!). If you’re looking for some good locals to tell you crazy stories and a great atmosphere, stop by. Be open to making new friends because that’s what makes this place so great

I went here on Taco Tuesday and it was pretty good. You can’t go wrong with $ 2 tacos(beef or chicken). The only complaint I would have is that the lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, etc. run out pretty quickly(they have a taco bar) and is slow to refill. Their rosemary garlic fries are great as well, as are their variety of hot wings. Mahaffey’s is a great place to chill with friends and enjoy their many happy hour specials. There are also different food specials on each day of the week. For example, the first Tuesday of each month is a steak night.

Disclaimer: writing this as a bar review more so than as a restaurant. Simply put, Mahaffey’s is my sort of bar! Comfortable, unpretentious, diverse clientele, and not at all stuffy or scary. A sort of place that makes me feel like I belong– not a haven for the beautiful people, where you question your fashion sense before you’ve even sat down; not a dive full of shady dregs, where you’re immediately mindful of the safety of your wallet; and not a veritable«locals only» club where you get looked at with that«who are YOU that dares tread upon our turf?!» sort of expression! Gotta love the grill on the left, just as you’re walking in, and the smoky atmosphere that results when it gets a-crankin’! If you’re someone that’s offended or bothered meat-induced and laden smoke, this may not be the sort of place for you! The happy hour special of three 10-ouncers of quality brews for $ 5 is downright awesome, and it’s clear that most who partake of it use the special as a good means for trying out different craft ales and/or microbrews. I only wish that there weren’t so many exempted beer selections(denoted in bold on their lists) at times, or alternately that there was some clear surcharge of perhaps a buck more for each of the bolder brews when selected within the three-for special. The food selection is quite limited, but everything I’ve had to eat there has been at least average to above average and at fair to good prices. Mahaffey’s scores extra points as a place that always has a cask ale on tap, which makes it a very solid 5-star selection in my book.

This is a small bar that is similar to other bars/restaurants in Baltimore. I went on a Wednesday for happy hour and ordered beer and food. They have a great happy hour beer special, which consists of three 10 oz beers for $ 5. They have a pretty good list of craft beers on tap and a lot more in bottles. This is a great place to try new and different beers. They also have a bunch of food specials throughout the week. Wednesday is $ 5 burger night. They also offer their chicken sandwiches for $ 6. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was ok. The chicken was cooked well and wasn’t too dry. But I was expecting it to be spicier and coated in a good buffalo sauce. Since it wasn’t spicy enough, the bleu cheese topping overpowered the flavor of the chicken. Overall however, the $ 6 sandwich and $ 5 beer(s) were an awesome combination! This has become one of my new favorite happy hour places in Baltimore. One thing to mention: since it is such a small place, it can get pretty loud when at full capacity.
