Stopped by for a quick snack. Sat at the sushi bar. Decided to go with the kimchi and shrimp pad tai. Both service and food were very good.

I was hesitant to try this place after reading the reviews, but finally did so. The restaurant is nice enough, but the prices are fairly steep for the sushi and other entrees. The food was prepared promptly and the service was decent. However, I’d mostly say that the quality of the food was only okay, and definitely nothing to write home about. Given the prices, I’d sooner go elsewhere in the casino, or to Luk Fu at Maryland Live.

I’ve eaten there several times and the food was good until Thursday night. I ordered chicken fried rice and my friend ordered chicken lo mein. What a nightmare!!! Rice and noodles good but the chicken was horrible. Chicken was too soft and it didn’t taste like chicken. Ummm!!! When I asked my server about the chicken she could not answer me. I told her I’m not satisfied and she took our plates. I saw the Chef laughing at our returned plates so that made me very suspicious about the chicken. When I asked for the manager, manager never came out. Later that night and the next day I had severe stomach cramps. I’ll never eat there again. Please be careful because the cramps are no joke. Worse than a tooth ache.

My first time at the Horseshoe in Bmore, and I thought I would continue my quest of eating all the beef brisket noodles at casino noodle bars here. After being seated at the noodle bar for 5 min, the manager stopped by and took my order. Over the next 30 min, bowls and bowls of noodles started rolling out of the open kitchen and my brisket was nowhere in sight. It finally came to the point when the noodle lady and I were having a staring contest, then another waiter stopped by and asked if I have ordered already. I quickly pointed to the manager and his dumbfounded look, then the waiters started scurrying around and the noodle lady quickly jumped into action. My noodle finally appeared 45 min later. The bowl was filled with tendons and the brisket were medium in tenderness, maybe it would have tasted better if the situation was different, but its definitely overpriced, even more than NOW in Borgata.

When this place first opened I came after a few hours on the tables and it was great. Sushi was good, service was good and prices seemed reasonable. My second visit was a little weird. Hostess implied a rowdy group was with me & I had no clue who they were. I don’t mind at first but after I said I didn’t know them she asked me «Are you sure because I’m going to call security»…I don’t know what that was all about but it was weird and I felt slightly profiled to be honest. However the waitress was good, service once again was solid and the food was tasty. Prices this time seemed higher but not too bad considering location. We did however feel slightly rushed to eat and leave this second time around. I really don’t think this is a bad place, beer selection is a little light and the prices are moderate for the food you’re getting but that second experience really changed my opinion of this place. I wouldn’t go back but not because of food issues. Tldr summary Food 3.5÷5 Waitress service 4⁄5 Hostess the second time was sketchy Prices: you’re paying about 15 per sushi roll(8 pieces) or most of the fried rice/noodles dishes. Slightly overpriced. I’m not going back but I can’t say this place is horrible.

My fiancé and I came here for dinner pre the free salsa lessons at Johnny Sanchez. I was in the mood for sushi, but as soon as I saw the prices I changed my mind. I couldn’t bring myself to pay 12.88 for a spicy tuna roll, so we both opted for fried rice. I ordered the chicken fried rice, while my fiancé ordered the kimchi fried rice. Both were delicious! The ingredients were so fresh, the flavors were great, and the portions were adequate. Definitely not your standard Chinese takeout. The service was quick and efficient, though not spectacular. The food really was great and could justify higher prices, but I think they could stand to knock 2 to 3 dollars off their entrée prices.

Please pass, prices are absurd, wait time is bad, and service is mediocre. Two star because food was actually okay.

Ordered the sushi and sashimi platter. Sushi wasn’t rolled very well and full apart easily. Sashimi was rubbery and not fresh. Total with two beers was $ 90, not worth the money.

Is the food good? It’s great! Is it cheap or expensive? Kind of pricey but not absurd. How’s the service? Decent and cheerful. Ruby 8 is primarily Sushi and Chinese cuisine with a few other dishes thrown in to give you some additional diversity. My initial expectation was to receive Chinese Take-out quality food at a higher price. Ruby 8 certainly exceeded my expectations in many regards. And disappointed in a few. I ordered the Beef Brisket Tendon Noodle soup, Beef Chow Fun, Salt & Pepper Calamari, Spring Rolls, Garlic Sauteed Veggies(Chinese Broccoli), and my buddy had the Pork Dumpling Noodle soup — plus a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. So the strange thing is, the«appetizers» came out last. The Chow Fun was what I thought some of the best that I’ve had. Usually, my experience is that it comes out a little oily and greasy for a healthy meal. Ruby 8 really does this one well. Both the soups were perfect — not overly seasoned nor bland — by the time you get to the bottom of the bowl, your taste buds accumulates the flavor. At first, I thought it could have used more salt, but at the end, I thought it was salty enough. The Beef Tendon soup had so much brisket that I was pleasantly surprised. The chinese broccoli was fresh, crisp, and crunchy. The big winner was the Salt & Pepper Calamari — the batter was nice and light – the flavor had a lot of pop and a little bit of a spicy kick. The portions for the price are definitely something to be desired as they are sufficient but not ample(…like some of my ex-girlfriends). Pricing is a bit high but not ridiculously outrageous. However, since I was comped dinner, price was not really an issue — the whole casino pricing conundrum. So, if dinner was comped or comp discounted, I will definitely eat here again. If not, and I was in the mood for great Chinese food, I would come and dine again.

Not worth the money. I was expecting a lot considering the prices($ 18 and upward). The staff was very friendly and attentive, our glasses were never empty. I went to this place with a couple friends so I was able to sample a few items. First off the Lo Mein was probably the best of its kind I have ever had in my life. I am unsure if the noodles are made in house but they are amazing. The General Tso was so-so, definitely enough food but not better than some of the good take out restaurants by my place. Finally the pad Thai was done of the worst I have ever had. Very dry and vastly under seasoned. I asked for it hog and it was as spicy as ketchup– they only added jalapeños. Overall way over priced for what I was expecting, lacking salt and key flavors.

The food is fantastic! Great choice of a variety of different Asian style cuisines. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating as well. As you’re seated, you are given a complimentary cup of hot tea — the epitome of a warm welcome :)

I had the phở. It was actually alright. Stock had some flavor but it wasn’t outstanding. Size was just medium. Was it worth $ 18, $ 20 with tip? No. I’d have to look it up but Ruby 8 may have the most expensive bowl of phở in the world. Lol. Ruby 8 is on the main floor of a casino though, to be fair. So they gotta make what must be killer rent.
