My mother ordered a cake from here for my wedding reception. It was one of the only bakeries willing to make an «elaborate» cake on such short notice, so for that I’m giving them 2 stars. Basically 2 stars for effort. Everything else about the experience left something to be desired. Upon entering the bakery I was not greeted. In fact, I believe an entire 15 minutes went by before anyone noticed I was there! When I was finally approached, the employee appeared aggravated, as if I had interrupted something. Oh! I’m sorry! I’m just a paying customer picking up my over-priced cake for my wedding reception! Sorry to bother you! Wow! When the manager came out with the cake I noticed a few flaws in the appearance. The fondant was not smooth and in some areas it even seemed to wrinkle. The flowers on the top were beautiful, but the ribbons around the sides seemed like an after thought. I was hoping the taste would make up for any flaws but no such luck. I don’t think anyone at the reception touched the fondant. It was rock hard and tasteless. The cake itself was dry. Overall it was just not executed well.

This bakery is under relatively new management/ownership, but the new owner is NOT new to the business. As a NECI trained chef, Tim is taking Delicate Decadence to a whole new level, offering family style take out meals on Wednesday evenings. With a price of about $ 20 – 26 for a meal for four people(generous portions, often w leftovers), it’s easier to justify taking a night off from cooking. We have had(so far) pulled pork sandwiches on the most amazing fresh rolls; enchiladas with beans and rice; lemon chicken on jasmine rice w steamed beans and carrots; chicken piccata w beans and carrots; fajitas; Shepard’s pie; meatloaf(best ever!!). My children rarely agree on a meal, but they have loved everything from here so far! From the bakery side of things, I recommend the tiramisu, the millionaire bars(shortbread, caramel, chocolate), the salted caramel bars, and the chocolate fudge.

We came here to order a cake for my parent’s renewal ceremony and it was awful from start to finish. We arrived for a consultation and received a very cold welcome until they realized we were on their schedule, after which we were rushed through the process because the woman had«things to make for someone else». When the cake was delivered to us, the woman drove across the lawn and left the cake without so much as asking where it needed to be placed. The cake itself wasn’t even close to what we ordered. What should have been a 3 layer cake of chocolate, white, and red velvet was all chocolate and instead of buttercream icing, we received fondant; something none of use could stand to eat. Not to mention it was covered in pink when we asked for no color at all. As I said, the experience was awful straight through and we won’t be going back.

Michelle made our wedding cake and it was amazing. All the guests raved that it was the best cake they had ever eaten. I have tried just about everything that she sells and everything is wonderful. The place is immaculate, the staff is friendly and the food is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Michelle made our wedding cake and it was wonderful. After having tasted cakes at several places, we decided we wanted to have a vanilla cake with passionfruit filling. She made a wonderful, moist cake with an excellent vanilla buttercream frosting. In addition, the design was exactly what we were looking for: simple and elegant. She was very helpful and friendly, which was a plus as we were coordinating our wedding from a distance. Only con: the website has price listings that are way out of date, so make sure to check on availability and pricing.

Although this business advertises their ability to bake vegan cakes, they clearly do not know what vegan actually is as I was told that the flourless cake and the buttercream icing were both vegan(not!). Additionally, the owner is rude. I had to go to Burlington for my cake, but at least I’m working with someone who knows what they’re doing! If you have food allergies or a vegan preference, I’d avoid these folks!

Just try any of the bombs… and the coffee is great too! One of these days I will splurge on one of their cakes.

Diamond in the rough, of Barre. BEST cupcakes I’ve ever had, I think they were $ 3 each, but worth every morsel. Their selection in the display case is gorgeous and offers a wide variety of delights(cookies, cakes, pies, etc). Beautiful wedding cakes, also. Great coffee.
