Long John Silvers’s Seafood Shoppe

The food is typical fast food, but you know what the lady was about to close up when I was coming back from LV, NV and she was totally understanding we were driving for hours and starving.
Took our order, let us use a coupon, and got us our food perfectly and with speed.

Omg I haven’t eaten at a long johns in a long time we decided to go yesterday and it was awesome the food was fresh the workers were great! back in Texas they wouldn’t care every time I ordered, my food was old and cold or undercooked! Keep up the good work guys!

Service here isn’t bad, not sure what all the fuss is about. Never have I been to a burger king, long johns, kfc (etcetera) that had INCREDIBLE service so chill lol. What do you expect? Food is great and prices are average. No real complaints here

I’m surprised this place is still open… this restaurant is sort of hidden away from the rest around it… they don’t really care about customer service… they are never busy and food… ESPECIALLY the fries… are rarely fresh

Finally visited this place after a year of living in Barstow, skeptical because my fellow Unilocalers have rated this place so low… For the first time it seems, Unilocal was wrong– about this place. Idk if those bad ratings were just cases of having a bad day, or tired from the road. Either way this place is the BOMB. This is coming from someone who hates to spend money on things that arent guaranteed.
The shrimp. Omg. They were jumbo and so juicy… Unlike the kind you would expect. Ya know. The measly baby shrimps restaurants try to pass off. MY BOYFRIEND AND I DEVOURED THEM.
The fried fish filets were HUGE. And crispy! And the coleslaw is just like kfcs! I will be going back just for that reason…
All in all so happy I went there and I would HIGHLY recommend. Don’t hesitate!

When we stopped here they had clams and they were really tasty. We also got cole slaw and it was really yummy. Next time I will do double slaw. The hush puppies were yummy too! I will be back for sure.

Been wanting to try this place but oh wells, this is just as good as to fill yourself up while you are on the way to/​back from Vegas from LA.
Service is average but enough to get by. Dirty bathroom just like all other fast food places on the same block
I got annoyed by flies inside restaurant.

How they stay in business is beyond me. this LJS was a mess, restroom dirty and the restaurant was slap ass full of fly’s.

I was craving some clams. Being in Barstow there are not a lot of options. We went to Long John Silver after seeing clams on the online menu knowing they are available in select stores.
When we got there, they said that they only did clams as a side. That made no sense. If you cook them, why not serve them in meal sized portions as well? I ordered the fish basket instead.
When I turned around they had a sign listing the clam basket. I asked the cashier (with the manager standing right there, not doing a thing) why I was told it was not available if its advertised in the store, a few feet from the register. The cashier said she had never seen the sign before.
There was no offer to correct the situation.
In the end, I paid $ 26 for one drink, two kids meals, and three fish baskets with 2 nugget sized pieces of fish in each.
Never again.

Was craving some seafood but only had time for fast food because cousin Lala was in a rush to get home. So I loved seeing Long Johns at Barstow… We both got the shrimp with a side of corn on the cob and punch. It was just o-​kay. The order came pretty fast. They had good music playing though, was nice to sit and listen to some good jams.

Typical Long John Silver’s fast/​sea food. Food served hot. Everything I’ve had here was good. Restaurant has always been very clean (to include the rest rooms). Place is quiet AND COOL. Staff has always been friendly. Food always served quickly. I’ve always enjoyed a quick seafood (also serves chicken) meal here. Fast food restaurant right next door (Carl’s Jr.) has hugh parking lot for trucks, RVs, trailer towing vehicles. Just west of I15 (East Main St exit) for those traveling north, and directly in front of southbound East Main St exit. Rather pleasant fast food restaurant experience. The only fault, no salads.

Shrimps were tiny. Fish was undercooked. Believe it or not, the most delicious thing was the chicken. No one in this joint, and the flies that were buzzing around on the inside made me so mad at my husband for choosing to eat at this spot in the first place.
Only thing that was satisfying was the frozen lemonade, considering the heat, but wouldn’t come here again.

The food was like any other Long John Silvers’ I’ve been to. The employees we’re unprofessional and talked pretty loudly about their personal business. It was a bit annoying, but endurable.

The idea of making a pit stop here on the way back from Vegas is really cool. Looked it up on the phones we have with Google Maps or Unilocal.Get off on Main Street and we were like, go left, go right? Someone says, I see it, go straight dammit!
Ah ha, there it is, pull around to see if it’s open because it almost looked closed. Few people inside eating, we’re like ok, let’s go in. Bathroom break, wash hands, come out and order. Shrimps just jumped out at me and chicken and fish for another person and fried clams for another.
We got our orders and the cole slaw is sooooo good. Saw my friend dipping fries into it so I did it too. Hush puppies, mixed drink, we’re good to go. No, they don’t serve alcohol here, it was Mug root beer and Mountain Dew. I used to do suicides a long time ago.
When someone in our group says, the guy cooking or prepping the food is coming out with the food chewing on something because he’s eating back there too may mean it’s pretty good here. Mind you, these employees look like high school kids too so they would eat just about anything. Then another person said, the kid who took our order is also handing us our food, handling money, handling his earring because it’s falling out so he needs to adjust it. Come on now, where is the letter grade of this place? As my friend said, I’m glad I’m not the owner of this place, I would flip out knowing all this information.
Ok, down to the food again, cole slaw, thumbs up, fried clams, looks good but didn’t try it, hush puppies are tasty, fried shrimp, I should have passed. Tastes like they were frozen, thawed, frozen, thawed, then cooked. Mushy texture for the shrimp while the batter fried outside was crunchy. I would have to try something else for me to consider posting the missing 2 stars.
I got a refill on the way out and there’s a girl who just got on the clock. She asked me, refill? I said yes. Mug root beer and Mountain Dew please. She gave me this odd look and took my cup. She was really curious about the taste of it and she said, that’s a weird combination. The guy that took my order said that’s what I said when I took the order. On my way out, she tried it and she liked it. Who knew my weird ways are liked. ha ha
