Great sushi– very creative and fresh. I usually go alone and take a book while sitting at the sushi bar. All the sushi chefs and servers are very friendly, The bento box is a great sampler meal to enjoy a lot of different items. Nice wine selection too.

Good sushi, Not great sushi. Prices charged are for«Great Sushi». Service was attentive. Presentation was nice. That did not make the sushi taste any better. Our bill was $ 90 for two adult Sushi dinners. Comparable restaurants in the area would amount to $ 60 for two adults.

The sushi is really good and fresh. One of my favorite in the area. Definitely have the tuna flight. The hostess was a little rude, unwilling to give us a booth table when two were empty and then scolding me not to open the curtains when we got a seat by the window. The sushi is a bit overpriced but the place is nice and they do a good job overall.

I’ll probably update this once I dine in(post-vacation lazies tonight, we got takeout) but for now… decent takeout sushi in our new hood. I’ll try it again before reserving permanent judgment — we’ve heard good things from locals.(That said — read the Unrecommended Reviews at the bottom here too… now that I’m reading them before I visit someplace, I’m learning a lot more.) Shrimp shumai was excellent. The California Roll(my baseline for every sushi place — say what you will, I eat sushi all over the world on the reg) was really good. Fresh and prepared well. Philadelphia Roll was ok. The salmon on top looked like it may have been nearing the end of passable(and I got a bone to the tongue in one bite — unpleasant!) The Rainbow Roll — well, unlike most rainbows(where the fish is basically layered on top of a California Roll-type filling) this was filled with spicy tuna. And it is SPICY. Probably a little too much for my taste, so this wasn’t eaten — but while I didn’t notice that description in the online menu, doesn’t mean it wasn’t there — so not holding that against them. The fish on top was noticeably more fresh — probably because the roll cost twice as much. Ordered a few chicken skewers and a side of rice for the kid. They look and smell good — but she wasn’t hungry, so we haven’t tried these yet. I would go here again just for the shrimp shumai and Calfornia Rolls, so will update this when I do. Based on other reviews, probably would not take the child — she prefers a booth.

My second or third visit to Swordfish. You know that fishy smell walking into some establishments that serve seafood? You’ll never smell that here… inviting décor(although somewhat over done in the color red) things are cozy and comfy. Everyone seemed friendly. Our server was a little slow getting to the table. I think he was new but he did okay. The food here is a tad over priced, some of the portions were a bit small, but the food is really good. Having softshell crab and cold crab with mango sauce and avocados got the ball rolling. The crab had a mayo tangy sauce(very mild). I didn’t like the first bite but then something within me kicked in and my palette said«I like this». We finished off with a chicken bento box. Also a little short on quantity but very tasty. If you like sushi you won’t go wrong with Swordfish.

This place has some nice sakes. And there sushi is pretty good but they go crazy with the mayo sauces. Like way too much. Tell them to bring that down a notch and you’ll do fine. Nice ambiance.

It was decent sushi and good for the area selection. However, it is over priced. I’ve had much better sushi for much much cheaper at other restaurants. I would only go back with a groupon. Otherwise, I would recommend it to those who don’t mind paying a lot for good sushi for the area.

Sorry. It was just not good. The waitress did not understand when we ordered, and finally, when they brought our food… it was all cold and the lobster dishes smelled. Total bomb. Confused atmosphere, must have been a Mexican food restaurant before.

Very good sushi place. Looks plain on the outside but inside is cool. A bit pricey but good sushi isn’t usually cheap. Not my favorite sushi bar… TL’s in Bartlett wins there but this is definitely 1b.

Delicious sushi, fresh and artistically prepared… Our fav place in this area to treat ourselves. Tonight the service was under par but usually decent.

Hands down the best sushi in this area. With all factors included, this place gets and should continue getting rave reviews. I trap for a living and rarely come across sushi like this!!!

Always a fav, we sit at the Sushi Bar and love love love it! We go there about once a month. Pricey as some say, but a great value. Always super fresh and I have never once questioned their food handling or storage. Sometimes I eat from the kitchen and get a teriyaki dish. The house salads(the dressing is the bomb!) are lovely and hubby always gets Teka Don, raw tuna sampler. If we were rich we’d eat there once a week! Maybe more…

The first step is to admit that I have a Sushi obsession. My base line for judging sushi always includes a Spicy Tuna Roll. Swordfish does a great Spicy Tuna Roll with the perfect amount of zip. The Spicy Octopus is also very good but my absolute favorite specialty roll of all time is the Tuna Gone Wild. I order this roll every time. The ponzu & honey wasabi sauces on this roll are excellent. We’ve always had a good experience and good service.

It’s been a while since I was last here but last night I decided to take me date here. We walked in and waited for 15 minutes with out being acknowledged by any of the staff before we decided to leave. All I needed was a «hello, I’ll be right with you» but I couldn’t even get eye contact from the lady standing 2 feet away. It’s I shame because I used to like this place. I won’t be back.

This place looks much more cool on the inside then from the outside. My review is similar to the others but I keep it short and sweet: Sushi = excellent and would rate 5⁄5 Value for sushi = 3⁄5 — a bit overpriced Service = 3⁄5 — went on a Friday night before Vday. It was busy but our server disappeared for too long a couple times. She was very nce when she came back to the table though Ambiance = 5⁄5 — Romantic but kid friendly if that makes any sense. Great for a date night but probably 1⁄3 of tables had children which was good cause we had our 8 month old with us!

Who’s the guy in back that makes all these little butterflies made out of carrots? The whole time we were sitting there, I was thoughtfully munching my delicious sushi, wondering if on this person’s job application, there was simply the title of «carrot guy». Carrot Guy, your efforts did not go unnoticed. This place is very good but be warned, you do pay for it. Each roll averages about $ 13. I’m also quite sad that they don’t offer their All You Can Eat once a week. Husband works nights so I don’t know when I’ll ever be able to experience the magic that surely is all I can eat. They were also playing some awesome music. Thumbs up all around for Swordfish!

This is a little out of the way for anyone east of Naperville, but totally worth the drive. The menu is vast, the décor clean and open, and the food is fantastic. Specialty rolls comprise a large part of the menu, but the traditional maki rolls are fantastic. Being pregnant while dining, I had to stick to the cooked area of the menu, which was clearly marked. Thank you for the best California Roll I’ve ever had. Note, gratuity was included in the check for our party of 6 — which was not verbally disclosed to us beforehand.

I tried Swordfish after reading the reviews here and was very happy with the whole experience. I was greeted and sat immediately, ordered two rolls and had them with in a few minutes, and I really liked the atmosphere. Specialty rolls average about $ 17/each but they are large and great presentation. I can’t find anything wrong and they exceeded all of my expectations, I’m leaving fat, dumb, full and happy:-). I would defiantly come back again.
