So glad we finally tried this place. It’s in a strip center, yet you completely forget that when you walk in. Great ambience. From what the bartender/waiter said Monday’s and Tuesday’s are more laid back. There’s live music later in the week. Food and drinks were really good. Got a cheese board, some wine, Rex’s remoulade and Chicken Monica. Bartender/waiter(Evan) very knowledgeable. We will be back!

This one has some promise and we hope it will be a refuge for a nice quiet drink and decent fairly priced and portioned cuisine. Our first visit was for an 8 o’clock Friday light meal. They do have a very nice selection of wines by the glass, five Chardonnay alone. Decently priced with none over $ 12. We tried two of them from Sonoma and they were very good. The pour was more than adequate as well. Also a full bar with good libation variety. Nell’s Sweet Fashion and a Bulleit Ginger were fine and again fairly priced. Menu has everything from apps, small plates, meat and cheese boards to sandwiches and full entrees. We did a three cheese board and added Duck Bacon($ 7) and received a heavenly meal with some nice accompanying items. We really enjoyed this and would highly recommend. It filled up two of us. Tried the crab fingers in mushroom cream sauce and as the proprietor said, the cream sauce was the star but the crab fingers were almost an afterthought and really brought down the dish. I suggest adding either shrimp or scallops or crab meat and nixing the crab fingers. Just a thought. It was empty at 8 but had filled in nicely by the time we left. Service was good, friendly and professional although it seemed our server might be new here on menu knowledge. This could rise to four star in time for us but we will return and hope to have replaced the downtown spot with Manhattan prices for good.

Definitely a hidden gem. Stopped in this strip mall to avoid traffic and noticed this place. Wasn’t drinking, but needed a bite to eat. Food was great from flavor to presentation. I got the apple brie bites which I LOVED and also got to try a bite of the salmon cakes. Will definitely stop in again when I’m nearby.

Tried this because of the good reviews, and overall, it is a lovely place to relax and have a repast. There was only one other table at 6:30. Service was excellent. The Rex Remoulade was delicious, with fresh lump crabmeat, though for $ 15 it could have had a bit more on top of the significant greens. The remoulade sauce was really divine. My husband ordered the recommended pot roast because the chicken stuffed with boudin was 86. The roast was delicious but it came on top of an obscene amount of mashed potatoes that tasted like they came from a box. Like 3 or 4 potatoes worth of cheap mashed potatoes. They’ve got a good thing. I hope the low turnout isn’t causing them to cut corners on the food. Lots of potential. Would love to see wine tasting events, because the selection is great. We look forward to trying the extensive cheese selection next time. Try it, just don’t get the roast unless they have real mashed potatoes.

Valentine’s day! So today was our first try at Bacchus. We were greeted and told we had an hour to eat bc the table was reserved. No problem! We ordered sandwiches and we’re greeted by 2 different waitresses. After about 15 minutes our waitress told us to relax because people had canceled resevations. I ordered the ham and brie sandwich with house chips and it was devine! So scrumptious. really good quality meat! I also enjoyed the Italian Wedding Cake martini which was delicious as well. I was told it was really sweet, but I love sweet drinks and really enjoyed it. I also tried the chocolate pretzel martini, but wasn’t thrilled about it. I’m not quite sure where the pretzel flavor came in because I never tasted it or saw any sign of pretzel! The Italian wedding cake was definitely more superior, in my opinion. This restaurant is very cozy, but definitely worth a try! Great food and service. I even received a long stem rose from one of the waitresses!

Great choice for a girls’ night or date night! Ambience was relaxing with John Mayer, Jack Johnson, etc type music. The restaurant itself was beautiful with customized high wooden tables and fun Mardi Gras type decorations that were subtle and added a flare to the Bacchus and wine them going on. I’m sad to say that I skipped trying a martini even though I was drooling over the mixed drink list. We sampled a Pinot Grigio instead, which was delicious. I agree with others that the prices were high, but I think essentially they compared to Gino’s, Ruffino’s, or even Jasmine’s on the Bayou as far as quality and the elaborate ingredients so really worth it. We shared a couple appetizers and a sandwich with a side of soup, which was definitely plenty of food. My favorite was the crab cake sandwich with avocado, Remoulade sauce, mixed greens, tomatoes, and a sesame butter bun. They had some side options, but we chose to upgrade to the Boursin and Crab soup, which tasted just like Crab and Brie(so obviously delicious!) Both were rich and creamy and delish. The appetizers we tried were the Shrimp Tacos and Apple Bite Delight. The Shrimp Tacos were clearly made with fresh mango and strawberries, which I loved, but there was nothing outstanding about the flavor, especially when you have places like the RumHouse to compare them too. They gave us three of them, so they were well worth the price. We really did love the Apple Bite Delight. Green apple slices, melted Brie cheese, roasted walnuts and pine nuts, drizzled with honey = absolutely delicious! My favorite dish, but really their menu had a lot more delicious options that I’ll be heading back to try. Also, I must go back when they have live music on some Fridays and Saturdays plus must go back to check out their store next door. We got to peek in, and it looks super nice with lots of wine, liquor, etc. Bacchus is locally owner and operated too, which is always something to celebrate. Go check it out for yourself as I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too.

Hmmm we may have found our new«spot». Close to the house? Check Good food? Check Good service? Check Great wine? Check Small cozy locally owned setting? Check My husband and I came here on a Friday and it was very empty when we arrived and over the course of the night filled up, but still not to capacity. The tables aren’t too close together and it’s got lovely lighting, great for a quiet dinner or cocktail. Our server did a great job. We started with wine and eventually ordered a gorgeous cheese board and then dinner. Make sure you check to see what cheeses they have, because the ones I tried to order had been replaced with others(which were just as delicious!) The dinner menu is not extensive but has various options. The wine list for by-the-glass wines looked to be all California wines, but bottles were from all over the world. Prices range by-the-glass from $ 7 to $ 14. The Bistro is attached to their wine shop by the same name and I can’t believe we’d never been in before. I love this tucked away gem already, can’t wait to go back!

Really enjoyed our visit. Edamame hummus, delicious. Found it a bit pricey but we received good service and very good food and drinks. And they were very nice to our 2 year old. He loves edamame and hummus so that appetizer was just perfect for him. How restaurants treat our son means a lot. They welcomed us with him and treated him like a person not a pain in their ass like many other places do.

The ambiance was nice. The chocolate pretzel martini was delicious. Bread pudding was what everyone talked about, but it was not good at all. Doesn’t come close to the bread pudding at Sammy’s. The service was good. We didnt go for food, but it was steak night & they were out of steak. Probably won’t go back. Too many places that are much better to go to in Baton Rouge.

The food was amazing! The bartenders were friendly and they even asked if we wasted to request a specific type of music! I loved it! Even though its a short drive I’m going back!

Food quality very high. Service is slow, it’s the South, but very friendly. My husband said the crab cakes were the best he’s ever had. I found the remoulade a little too mustard-laden, but still very tasty. I had the ham & Brie sandwich — oh my — the caramelized balsamic onions and perfect baguette really just make it the perfect combo. We will be back. Again and again. Hidden Baton Rouge gem.

We ordered a cheese plate… three cheeses. I expected a few pieces of each cheese, and instead we received like a fist full of each. Like enough cheese for a week. Luckily it was good cheese… Wine list is fairly limited, which is surprising given that it’s a wine bar. Limited is fine if it’s interesting wine, but this just seemed really run of the mill. Blend is a much better option if you’re in the mood for wine.
