It was just ok. I am not a huge fan of Chinese buffets but I will most likely never return to this one. While it looks like a large selection, the food wasn’t that great. I didn’t even liked the crab Rangoon and that is something I usually enjoy. I really didn’t eat much.

My sister’s from out of town and likes to come here for sushi buffet. The prices are high so I only went because we had a 2-for-1 coupon. We went around 5:30pm and were the only customers aside from one party of 5. We tried the various sushi and entrees. Most of the food was old, having sat around for who knows how long. I tried literally everything since most of it I could not eat nor enjoy. I eventually found a few things tasty such as the stuffed mussels, dim sum pork buns, and chocolate espresso cake. Unfortunately, the food is not good enough that I would return willingly. My sister, on the other hand, remarked that she’s had better food here before. So I’m not sure if Teppanyaki had an «off» day or if my sister will eat anything.

Decent quality, with the cheapest price around. A lot of the other sushi/Chinese buffets are either way more expensive or lacking in the quality department. 7 bucks for lunch on a weekday, you can’t beat that. Far better than King Buffet or Nagoya.

Go here every time we come to BR. Good assortment of sushi and the bar has always been fresh. They don’t put out a huge pan of anything, so you know it has not been on the bar very long. Never a bad visit

I cannot believe the low stars rating on this place… Brilliant, delicately flavored food with some dishes I’ve never seen before… Everything seems very fresh, easily the best Chinese food I’ve had in either Louisiana or Texas.

Beautiful food. Delish!!! Oriental food is a favorite of mine and this has been the best I have had in years!!! This was our second time and will NOT be our last. We live over an hour away and will make any excuse so we can eat here again. Service was great too. Ask for Ruby. Sweet and excellent and attentive :-)

I’m really wondering how this place has such good reviews, Unilocalers! Come on! I must’ve had a completely different experience all together. My girlfriend and I got there and it wasn’t too busy for a Friday night. Took about 5 minutes for us to get seated. There wasn’t a line at all. It was just us standing there waiting. When we got seated, we asked for waters and the hostess brought them to us while we were gone to the buffet. We sat there the entire time without refills, no one picked up our dirty plates, and no one asked if we needed anything. The service was non-existent. They were servicing everyone around us EXCEPT us! I was mind-blown… After we finished, we had to walk back up to the hostess counter to pay our bill! After complaining to the manager, they didn’t even offer us a discount or coupons or ANYTHING! That’s terrible… This place obviously doesn’t care about their customers,(some) food, or staff. They only want your money! Bad, bad, BAD!

Best for the price in Baton Rouge. I’ve done many a buffet from Reno to Vegas to Caribbean and South and Central America. Great value for the food

I noticed that the is like 30% Asian and everything else is mostly American. Not that have have things against American food(it’s great!!!) but shouldn’t the reason why you came here be that you wanted or were going to eat Asian food. This place was better earlier. Also the food is weird.

Out and about running errands with the kids, and they wanted to stop here for«Japanese» food. Walking up to the front there was a very foul odor. Got inside and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice décor and clean. They have a wide variety of options ranging from sweet and sour chicken to sushi. I’m not a fan of Chinese buffet style restaurants, but whatevs, for the kids. There was only one waitress working, so after our initial drink order we didn’t get another table visit. The hibachi plate that I had prepared to order was pretty decent. I didn’t care for anything on the buffet that I sampled. Even the cheese wontons, and I love cheese wontons. Both of my kids’ go-to dish is sesame chicken. Neither liked it. The kids did like the sweet and sour chicken and the fried shrimp. And of course the fruit/dessert options. It wasn’t terrible, but I don’t think we will be back.

If nothing else, show up for crabs and shrimp. We received an offer in our Valpak to try them for a free buffet when you buy one and two drinks and stopped in for dinner. Pretty place inside and clean. Very well laid out with a lot of different stations. Sushi, Apps, Boiled seafood, entrees, soups, Mongolian Grill bar, dessert, even an ice cream case. For $ 13.99 it is a pretty good deal. I had been trying to find a place to get some decent crabs and had tried the Joe’s nearby with dismal and expensive results before this. They had a plethora of blue crabs and they were actually pretty good. Not small and mushy meat. Same with the boiled shrimp. Well above average. My luck did run out with the boiled crawfish though as they were NOT good at all. For the price though, even without the free buffet for this trip we will return as long as they offer some of the seafood items we had last night. Other stuff is average to below in some cases as you come to expect in these type places. Some good, some dried out and not so good. Dessert bar was below my expectations for example but I got some coffee ice cream instead. And their iced tea is the best in town. I drank two big ones with my meal. Choose wisely and enjoy some pretty good boiled seafood and it will be worth $ 13.99 vs. $ 95.00 at Joe’s.

Much better when than before the last time I came here. I believe the trick is to go right when they open since the food is freshly made and steaming hot.

Place is really impressive at first glance, but the service I had was ridiculous. I walked in and thought instantly we had found a new regular place. The buffet was stacked with delicious boiled seafood, a huge sushi display, a Dim Sum variety I had never seen before, Hibachi that looked too legit, and a wide variety of choices on the regular item buffet. I started to pig out on crab legs which weren’t bad, but I was comparing them to the east coast ones I had the week prior and there just was no comparison. Surprisingly the crawfish were really good. Especially for this time of year. They were seasoned great, huge, and a soft shell still. However, while I was pigging out on the boiled seafood my girlfriend was struggling to find chop sticks. Our waitress didn’t come to the table for over fifteen minutes. Once I had enough of trying to crack the crabs with my fork, I finally went searching for the waitress. I got some crackers and found out they were out of chopsticks for her. How is that possible at a place with a sushi bar? I grabbed my crackers and as I went to use them noticed they had tape wrapped around them. When I undid the tape there was some nasty, moldy, black hair under the tape. I got another pair and it was the exact same thing. Pretty disgusting. At this point my girlfriend was pretty fed up trying to eat her sushi with a fork. She tried the hibachi and while I thought it was good she did not. After eating tons of crustaceans and not being filled up I finally went to the Hibachi bar. I see why she didn’t like it and stopped eating after. There must be MSG in in because we both felt horrible after eating it. I didn’t think it tasted too bad, but it was the only thing I ate that was really heavy, and it made us feel horrible. I dub their Hibachi, «Teppanyucky.» Sorry I couldn’t help myself. We got our check and right about the same time started getting good service. Hmm ironic. We paid left, and at this point not sure if we will be going back. Sad because the place had so much potential, but I can see now why it was as empty as it was.

Went for the first time. We where sat down at a table, but our server never came to refill our drinks or even check on us. Didn’t even bother giving us silverware. We had to ask other servers for help as they passed. If we would have had a rude server that would have been better because it would of at least shown he was trying to give a shit. Never in my 31 years of life in this earth have I ever had a non-existent server. I am just glad it was a buffet, otherwise we would have likely never gotten any food.

The food was good quality for a buffet. They had dim sum, hibachi, sushi, and regular buffet items. Well worth the price in my opinion.

Buffets are usually hit or miss, and I say that for all buffets except the ones you find on the strip in Vegas. During my visit here with a group of 5 we found service was pretty good(e.g. plates taken away, refills, cleanliness). For my first visit here the food was pretty good as the seafood selection was plentiful and actually prepared well. I had crawfish, boiled shrimp, whole crabs, snow crabs legs, mussels, on and on. They were all great. I even had room to try their sushi, and found it to be pretty decrnt for buffet sushi. It’s definitely not on par with the likes of Ichiban or other local sushi places in town, but for a buffet it was good enough to settle a craving. One of the best things I saw was that their bathrooms were actually nice and CLEAN! Yes, an Asian buffet restaurant actually had a clean restroom for their customers. Will I go back? Probably. Often? If I want to keep an eye on my waistline, probably not. However, if I have a hankering for a variety of seafood, this place may be my go to pace to hit it all up in one sitting.

Decent quality food for a buffet but selection is mediocre. To many spaces on the buffet line occupied by «continental cuisine» like french fries chicken wings potatoes etc. If you’re looking for somewhere that can offer something to everyone this is the place. If you want more of a focus on «chinese food» go somewhere else.

Went on a Sunday. 17 bucks. Place is pretty big and spacious. And clean. My plates were always taken and had refills. The sushi was alright for buffet sushi, haha. Low quality, cold, kind of bland, but seemed fresh enough. A lot of rolls and sweet sauces and krab. The sashimi tasted weird though. Cut too thick and kinda mushy textures. Not top grade, but what would you expect. They had dim sum. It was alright. Pork/shrimp shumai was the best. Chicken feet were bland, not cooked long enough. Dumplings and stuff was alright. Not a huge selection. Crab legs were way salty, but still good. They had crawfish and whole crab and mussels, but didn’t try those. The whole salmon and I think flounder was good. They had raw oysters as well. Most of the food is typical greasy, fried stuff. Salty, sweet heavy sauces. You know the deal. It was pretty good though, better than Asian buffets around. Had a good selection, stuff refilled. The fried fish and frog legs were pretty good. Typical fruit and cookie selection. Ice cream is in little cups. Didn’t try the hibachi. Maybe next time. They had a pork roast you sliced for your self as well. I guess that’s a Sunday thing as well. Overall, not that bad. Wouldn’t come all the time. Maybe in a couple months. It is pretty pricey on the weekends. I did eat a lot of seafood though.

I was here last Sunday with my family and there was 7 of us. We’ve eaten here a couple of times before and service and food has gone downhill since then. Most of the food items were below mediocre, and there were some items that was not prepared properly. My dad tried the tripe from the dim sum selection and it was not cleaned well. It could make someone sick. The crabs were over boiled, crawfish was bland, mussels were extremely dried out, and sushi was just nasty. Service was not on point that day. We needed the utensil to crack the snow crab legs open and we could not get any of the wait staff’s attention. They were just standing around. We had go up and ask and she only have us one for a table of 7. They should have that available on hand, especially on a Sunday where they serve seafood all day. We tried to make the best of it and left wishing we spent our money else where. It was a waste since our bill was over $ 100 for our group.

I was so excited about this place when it first opened and I bought a Groupon for it for a lunch deal(½ off lunch). The food was great! Their Chinese dishes tasted fresh, their sushi rolls were being made behind the sushi bar in the buffet area, there was a great selection of dim sum items and even some American staples(pizza, fried chicken, prime rib, etc.) and the chocolate fountain! I then turned around and recommended to many! We went during their twilight seating(2pm — 4pm) My second visit was for the dinner seating, so we could get all-you-can-eat crawfish. The crawfish was okay and they were not refilling the tray fast enough. So, that was not as great as the first visit. Plus, I do not really have the appetite that can handle huge amounts of buffet food. I usually like to pick a little bit from the more delectable offerings. During my last visit, during the lunchtime seating, I was truly not impressed! Everything tasted like it was from the day before… nothing tasted fresh! I had to stop eating after my first small plate of «a little bit of everything». Would I recommend checking it out? Of course! I recommend trying everything once! Enjoy!
