How can you not love a store that is as fresh as this one?
From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the produce section and a wall of gorgeous, and low priced, flowers!
Today’s strawberries were SO delicious! Bright red and super juicy. I really enjoy there frozen section too. Mini chicken wontons, Mac and cheese, tamales, shrimp. You name it!
I also love how HealthKit most selections are! I follow weight watchers and many items are smart point friendly!
The check out system is streamlined and quick. The cashier is ALWAYS friendly!
I go to TJ at least once a week. It’s a fantastic place!

The store is very busy on weekends. Located in a shopping center with fast food and dine in restaurants and even clothing stores, I found that the parking was still plentiful with people quickly coming in and out.
The store is very clean and well stocked. I saw an associate cleaning the spice rack with a handheld vacuum. What?! I can see that’s the first time I’ve seen that. I was impressed with the store’s priority to keep the shelves CLEAN. Associates are nice and friendly. Welcoming with a smile and in site in every aisle!
My favorite snack to get here is the cookie butter spread, vegetable root chips, and spinach and kale Greek yogurt dip. Mm mm good!

I shop here every week and love the quality and pricing. I feel they have the best staff in Baton Rouge. Recently I lost everything in a fire and that included my last bag of groceries from Trader Joe’s (bought the day before). My car was parked too close to the house and yep, it burnt too. I was lucky enough to get a ride the next day to buy a few items I needed. I looked a mess, still smelled like smoke and was wearing the only clothing I owned, hospital scrubs from Our Lady of the lake. I mentioned my experience to Mike and he offered me a bag, told me to fill it up and they would comp it. I was so grateful and humbled by the compassionate gesture.
I put in the reusable bag what I normally buy and the total came up to $ 50.00. If any of you out there have ever lost everything you know how much that kind gesture and that bag of groceries meant. Trader Joe’s is more than a chain, it is a place that cares about it’s customers and the Baton Rouge community. It’s the kind of place you feel good about spending your money. If you haven’t tried them yet you should consider giving them a shot. They might not have everything on your shopping list but what they do offer is more than money can by like: Respect, Caring and Cocern

Like others, I don’t do all my weekly shopping at TJ’s.
But I’ll be damned if all the cool shit in there doesn’t make me want to blow my weekly grocery budget.
It’s all just really well thought out and executed — great produce for cheap, fun frozen stuff (see chicken tikka Marsala) and essentials that are extremely high quality but still cheap as hell (like $ 1.50 bath soap that last ages).
Wonderful, reasonably priced wines, cheese and meats. Tasty pre-​made wraps and sandwiches. Bacon infused chocolate. Need I say more?

Go here for the flowers and the cheap wine! Seriously, you can put together a GORGEOUS bouquet for like $ 15. And their flowers arent sad and droopy like walmart’s — they look great. I also like to get my booze fix here, because the selection and prices are great. Awesome place to shop!

Yay, I am a TJ fan. Totally. Somehow they give you nice organized feel. There is no point reviewing grocery stores so I shall just give you a list of things I buy from TJ’s. You can try these out and in case other suggestions please let us know.
* new love dragon sauce.
* they have mango mochi
* dark chocolate espresso
* coconut water
* ravioli pesto
* cheap 3 $ wine. Grad school special. Plus their wine openers are cool
* cheese — a variety. Don’t usually buy pieces. Ovalini mozzarella marinated, goat cheese, Brie
* bananas are expensive. Really.
* they have a variety of frozen ready made meals — lamb vindaloo was good (haven’t tried a lot of them, against pre cooked meals)
* sea salt chips nice.

Trader Joe’s has very quickly become one of my favorite places in Baton Rouge. Tons of snacks and food to choose from. All 4 of the cookie butters are delicious. We picked up some salmon jerky because we were curious and I wasn’t disappointed. I live about 2 hours out of Baton Rouge but come every weekend and stop at Trader Joe’s every time I’m in town.

Love the coffee and wine selection at Trader Joe’s. I make a special trip for these two items. Very helpful and courteous employees.

I’m in love with this store! Every purchase has been faultless. As I write this review I am sipping on some French Chardonnay and enjoying some wonderful Spanish chorizo accompanied by this glorious blue cheese and roasted pecan dip with crackers. I feel like I have died and went to heaven! Since my birthday is Wednesday and the holiday season is already amongst us, I couldn’t help getting caught up in a shopping frenzy. I mean so many amazing opportunities! le sigh! Just check out my photos to see some of my great buys. I can’t wait to go back to this place.

I love Trader Joe’s. They may not have a full stock of items like a typical grocery store, but you can fill 90% of your needs here. If you are a savvy shopper, you can purchase identical items with a different name for a discounted price here. The staff here is always super helpful, the store is always immaculate. Everyone has there favorite items, but a few of mine are:
Orange mandarin chicken
Fried rice
Frozen jasmine rice
Kentucky bourbon
Cookie butter
Chocolate cover coconut almonds
Quinoa black bean tortilla chips

My feeling towards this location of TJ’s mirrors my overall feelings of the chain: it’s OK for a few things, but not a place to go for everyday grocery shopping. It’s also vastly overrated.
The cookie butter is unique and tasty, and whenever I’m swinging through Baton Rouge I’ll make a stop just for that, but everything else is just not that amazing. Think mostly snack type foods and an admittedly very large selection of frozen foods. Trader Joe’s business model is to find products from around the globe and rebrand them specifically for TJ’s. It’s essentially a lower cost version of World Market specifically geared towards groceries. This is all OK, but a major downside is that local products are rare to non-​existent.
Louisiana produces some of the best produce, meat, and seafood, and you won’t find Louisiana satsumas or shrimp at TJ’s. I understand this is part of their business model, but Whole Foods manages to strike a pretty good balance between healthy, globalized products and local specialties. TJ’s has rather small stores as well, this location is smaller than the Whole Foods on Broad Street in NOLA which I’ve always considered pretty tiny. In addition, one of TJ’s signatures, Two Buck Chuck (which is actually $ 3), is now carried by Whole Foods for the same price under a different label.
It’s worth it if you’re already in the area, but why anyone would go out of their way to come here is beyond me.

I drove all the way from New Orleans with a friend to go shopping in BR at the Mall of Louisiana, Nordstrom Rack and Trader Joe’s. I had never been to a Trader Joe’s before but I was very impressed. Actually, as soon as I walked out, I began planning my next trip. The produce was all fresh and the prices are great! I’m just sad that I had actually done a little grocery shopping the day before (not knowing what to expect at Trader Joe’s). Definitely won’t make this mistake next time.

Love the pricing, atmosphere, staff and selection here. I frequent this store about once per week to restock on what I use the most. Their attention to their own product availability and not the mainstream of what everyone else has definitely shows their comfort within their niche. Also, samples are availble in the rear of the restuarant of at least 2 of the product offerings so you can check to see if you like something before you buy it. Awesome.
Of the many times I’ve been here, I cannot recall one bad experience. Except for the one time they were out of the mango lemonade. I was devastated – for two whole days.

I now understand the hype! My first visit to TJ’s and it was slammed on a Sunday afternoon. I wish I would have looked around more closely, but the crowd had me wanting to get in and out with some goodies as fast as possible. Picked up some flowers, super great price for a nice bouquet, I think it was $ 3.99? You can’t find flowers cheaper than that! Also picked up some soup, pickles, and a $ 2.99 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Four items totaled to about $ 13. Hello bargain! The store was organized well and looked to have lots of healthy snack options. Is this store huge? No. It is quite small actually, I think they could have picked a larger location. My hope is that they do that, but in NOLA! The lady who checked us out was very friendly and chatty but kept the line moving. She genuinely looked pleased to work there. Really wish there was a TJ’s closer than an hour away.
Note: I admittedly don’t expect the $ 2.99 bottle of wine to be fantastic, but then again does it really need to be for that price?

If you’re into good organic food and healthy snacks this is your place. Great variety of organic and nonorganic foods reasonable prices and ready to go meals. I love shopping because I find new foods to try every time. The sprouted grain bread is awesome. Wines and oils are very inexpensive.

Went there today and it was a pleasant experience. The store was clean and the employees were nice. A whole bag of groceries didn’t cost too much money, in fact, it was cheaper than most other stores. I think I am starting to like this store and will be back.

Over this summer I’ve literally come here for 2 things only: cookie butter and tofu.
No, I don’t eat them together because I’m not an tasteless idiot. This is the only place that I can conveniently get hefty portioned yet still cheap containers of tofu.
Trader Joes shines on having a bunch of stuff from around the world or w.e.
But to be honest though, you really can just get most if not all of those «exotic» condiments elsewhere.
In reality, the one thing that TJ’s has that no one else has is cookie butter. I’ve only tried the chocolate swirl one, original one, and cookies&cream… and I can honestly say that I can sit down and eat the cookies&cream version all day long… of course I’d need like 2 gallons of water but still, you get the point. Tbh, it rivals nutella, and I’m a pretty big fan of nutella.
The cashiers and pretty much everyone that works in the store is pretty damn nice too. Upbeat attitudes all the time that it’s almost sickening. Almost, so not quite enough to make me hate it.
Being such a big fan of cookie butter that I had to try the ice cream, and let me tell you guys, it sucks. The cookie butter part of it is great but all the ice cream surrounding it was garbage. I quite know how to describe it, but it left me with a bad aftertaste… and didn’t give me that feeling of wanting to eat more and more like other ice creams do (aagen daaz or ben&jerry’s level ice cream).
Anyways, I would pick up a few things here and there if I needed them but I would never do the bulk of my shopping here. Just know what you’re coming in for. Cookie butter.

So, it is 9:26 AM and I had no time for breakfast, because I have to be at work in 15 minutes. So, what should I do? Simple, Trader Joe’s. It’s fast, convenient, and affordable. I’m always welcome in with a smile and a friendly good morning. I am pleased that the associates at Trader Joe’s, they know my name and the products that I purchased. The Trader Joe’s Pomegranate Blueberry Green Tea, is a signature must for my lifestyle, and I encourage everyone to try it; it retails for $ 1.49 a bottle. Moreover, I do applaud the grocery chain for making healthy food affordable to the general public. Trader Joe’s, has officially become my go-​to grocery store for a health lifestyle. Where else he get a bottle of water for $.69, that’s 1990’s pricing. So, do yourself a favor, and treat yourself to the best for an affordable price!

I don’t get all the hype. A grocery store with over priced organic food and no fresh seafood. I only shop here for goat milk when the other stores are out.
My son does enjoy the mini shopping carts.

Why do people hate on Trader Joe’s so much? I’ll admit, after hearing my sister who lives in NY go on and on about it and finally going when they opened one in Houston, I was not impressed. I was expecting much more. But after going a couple more times, I’ve truly developed an appreciation for TJ’s. Yeah, its on the smaller side, but what you’ll find inside will delight your taste buds if your a true foodie. I don’t do my main grocery shopping here, but if I’m ever in the area where there is one close by, I always stop and get my specialty items (Ezekiel Bread, black rice, ready made salads, etc). Oh and the wine… lawwwdddddd. I’m not a sommelier by any means, but I do love me some reasonable priced wine that doesn’t give me a headache after. Point of the story is, expand your taste buds and make your way over to the Joe.
