The food was good, not great and the beer was too. The waitress was nice but we arrived at 6:40 pm on a Monday night. We did not get our food until 8:10. The service was painfully slow. I have seen glaciers move faster than the service staff. The check was wrong and the waitress never asked if we wanted refills.

I was in at lunch today and I have to rave about the fabulous meal my friend and I had. Recommended by our server, date devils for the appetizer and the pork chops special — were simply amazing! Taylor was one of the best servers we’ve had in a long time, was attentive, knowledgable in the beers(loved the Rapunzel and Apollyon) and fun to talk to. Highly recommend this place!

First time at Arcadia Brewing. Seated in under 1 second, that was the best part !!! The waitress came over 3 times before I even took off jacket or opened a menu, to ask me for drinks. Finally asked for a Pinot because i hadn’t looked at beers yet. Got that drink 20 minutes later, but did get nagged for my order 3 – 4 times because they had a «big party and wanted to get my food in before the party ordered». Ordered pull chicken, it was dry and luke warm, the garlic potatoes were cold and definitely did not have garlic, and chunky and cold… The restaurant was soo bright it was 8pm, dirty, old and the menu was a paper menu that had stains all over it, oh and the silverware was dirty… ps never got to try the local beers, because i was rushed out at the end also. Never again !!!

This place had amazing good. Only thing is the beer menu can be a little confusing. At the bottom of the menu it says that the beer they have is written on a chalk board. The only problem was we didn’t notice this message at first because it was orange and the typing was a lighter orange or yellow. Very hard to read in the low lighting.

I probably eat here about 8 times a year, most often for work lunches or events, so I’m not usually paying the bill which is always a plus:) This is one of those places that I don’t deviate from what I order because I am stuck on how delicious the bbq chicken pizza is. I will literally order it every time. I’ve even been here two days in a row for lunch and still ordered the same thing both days. I am not a huge fan of most beers in general, so even the plainest and lightest here is still sometimes too bitter for me, so please don’t take my opinion on beer seriously — most people love it here. This place is always very accommodating for large groups, which is usually my experience when I come here, and the service is always very good, despite sometimes the food can take long when they are busy during the lunch hour.

Had lunch with my wife here on Saturday and although we aren’t the«regulars» that we used to be, it was wonderful to be greeted so warmly by the staff, especially Marilyn and Chef Sean. The Cob Salad was great as usual and I stuck to my usual pour of IPA and that was right on par as well. The beer menus on the tables were not current however and I would have liked to see descriptions of the unfamiliar/new ales listed on the chalkboard like the«Sweetheart Rodeo» and«Porter Rico»…I know these things change a lot, and I know that the staff will give a description(and a taste if you want it!) but it’s just toner on paper and it’s nice to be able to read the rundown first before making requests of the staff.

Perhaps a bit of a sentimental review here, but I was there when Arcadia started in 1997. Tim Suprise had a vision and stuck with it and now they are a major player in beer. As for the experience at the BC location, the atmosphere is casual and the food is great. The menu is diverse enough to appeal to a variety of tastes yet not too big as to imply that they try to do too much. The pulled pork, Cuban sandwich, and BBQ chicken pizza are my favorites. The salads are always great too(for you non-meat/pizza eaters).

Stopped in to Arcadia for the first time. Very pleased. The beer was really good, as expected. The server helped me pick the beers for my flight and I genuinely enjoyed each one. The food was a delightfully pleasant surprise. Arcadia has a reputation for beer, we know. So to find it paired with really good food was a treat. My husband had a pizza and I had the chicken quesadilla. Both excellent and prepared in the brick pizza oven on the restaurant floor. The quesadilla was particularly good with a rich, smokey flavor that the waitress explained comes from the bean sauce. Excellent. Our server was also excellent. She was knowledgable, attentive, and friendly without being intrusive. The only drawback to detract from 5 stars was the restaurant interior was a tad«gritty.» A great experience over all.

Awful food and awful service. First and last time. Got Mac and cheese for kids that had to be microwaved. The burger was discusting. The waitress was clueless.

My friends and I(3 of us total) had dinner and drinks at Arcadia last night. The beer and food were great, however, the service was awful. Our waitress didn’t seem to have a very good attitude and didn’t even try to fake one at the very least. It was a Tuesday night and had a decent amount of people there but it was by no means overflowing. After our food was served and we finished eating, my friend got the waitress’ attention and asked to make a to-go order. The waitress said she’d be back in a couple minutes to take it, but she didn’t come back to our table for 20 – 25 minutes and by that time my friend had already ordered and had it sitting on the table thanks to the awesome cooks! We then asked for our checks, which took another 10 – 15 minutes to get and sat there for 10 – 15 minutes until she came back and picked them up and give us our change. We will be coming back because of the food and beer and hoping we don’t get the same lack luster service.

Have eaten here many times and typically it’s better. Had the Rueben and was slightly disappointed with its bread and the fact that it was cold. I’m rating a 3 because the pizza are typically better and don’t want to total deter some from eating here. Had no beer this time.

Delicious gluten free pizza and I was impressed with the beers they brew on site! If we lived here we would be back.

On the way back to Chicago through a snow storm we decided to divert over to Battle Creek and check out Arcadia. It was well worth the trip. Its a dive — in a nice way and has both great food and beer. The surprise was a wood fired oven off in the corner that much of the menu was prepared in. Their appetizers and sandwiches were superb and perfect compliment to some very, very good beers.

Not a fan. I think that the taps were messed up when I went, but the beer tasted flat and warm. It wasn’t just one beer because I had a flight. Only 2⁄5 of the brews were drinkable. On top of that, the food tasted as though it had been heated up in a microwave and want cheap. Overall, disappointing experience.

Ok. I’m not a huge fan of their beer, so I’m not totally sure why we visited this place anyway. Their Cereal Killer didn’t impress. The Cocoa Loco honestly fell a bit short for me… I dunno. I normally don’t go for their stuff, and sadly it wasn’t any better when we visited there. BUTTHOSEDATES. I’ve been singing their praises ever since. We visited in November and I’ve been dreaming of them/trying to recreate them ever since. We sat at the bar, mulling over if we even liked the beer or not, and decided to order some of the Date Devils after a long day of driving. Holy crapola… we immediately decided that the small order of 6 was not going to be enough. When the bartender came back over to ask us if we wanted to order anything else, we ordered waters and ANOTHER order of Date Devils. We dragged that second order out for a ridiculously long time… at one point I even started laughing at how passionate I was feeling about the food in my mouth. My husband started laughing at the same time, without me having to say anything… we both were on the same page. It’s funny and ridiculous how great these little guys are. We both may not make it back to Arcadia Ales for the beer… but I could see us making the pilgrimage there again to get those Date Devils.

Terri and I stopped in while in town over the Thanksgiving weekend. Our server was very nice in helping Terri find something that she likes. Truth be told she’s a Corona Light and Miller Lite kinda gal and doesn’t often waver into bolder beer territory. Much of what I wrote in my earlier review still applies… BUT, the place is getting a bit shabby appearing and could use some sprucing up. I’m not talking about a whole makeover, just some repairs here and there.

Rough around the edges, the service was nice and the beer was very good; food was okay. The décor was a bit industrial but topical for halloween. I was surprised that they decided to fix a lightbulb during operating hours by flipping a switch hereby turning the light off over our table as we ate. To me, this is the sort of work to do while you are closed even though i definitely agree with his safety protocol.

We accidentally stumbled upon Arcadia when looking for another restaurant that, while listed on Unilocal,I could not find evidence of. Things turned out well, though, because this spot was a nice spot to stop during a road trip through Michigan. My first stop when I entered was the bathroom as we had been driving and I do have to say that this bathroom is gross. It’s old and and while clean, it is falling apart. The bar itself is ok, nothing super special, but comfortable. The service staff was quite friendly and we ended up sitting at the bar. I tried a ‘cheap date’ beer — quite delicious and had a sandwich. My food was pretty good, a bit unhealthy as you might expect from a bar, but ok. However, I had a bite of the brisket sandwich and that was really really nice. It was juicy and had a nice flavor to it — almost melt in your mouth. I definitely should have ordered that to begin with. All in all, it was good, but I think the beer is better than the food. The general atmosphere is nice and dark, which is good for a bar, maybe not quite as much at noon on a Saturday. The bathroom situation also needs to be updated. Food — 3 Bathroom — 1 Atmopshere — 3 Value — 4 Service — 4

After a full day of golf, we settled into the street-view table in the front window at this cool joint on Michigan Avenue West. The smell coming from the kitchen was intoxicating… must have been the smoker for their BBQ’d meats. Arcadia has a wonderful selection of craft beers(at reasonable prices)…everyone enjoyed their choices from IPAs to Stouts. The food however, was on the disappointing side. I ordered a «standard fare» burger which was as plain and boring as could be. The meat was alright(and cooked to my desired doneness), but the brioche bun fell apart when i first picked it up… bottom bun soaked with juices and top bun dry and flaky. Others around the table were also less than thrilled… wings that were too tough to easily pull apart and fatty meats on a Reuben. Wish there was more to tell… cool place to hang, solid beers, food not so good.
