Oh, how I wish The Pie at Salvatore’s was closer. I love coal fired pizza and The Pie at Salvatore’s is no exception. Just like Grimaldis, the family behind The Pie at Salvatore’s(and Salvatore’s Pizzeria in Port Washington) comes from NY Pizza Royalty — The Famous Patsy’s in NYC. These people know how to make pizza. The pizza here is light, fresh and delicious. Their sausage pie is to die for. Seriously, even my wife who doesn’t love sausage, loves this pie. Plain or toppings it doesn’t matter either way you can’t go wrong. It may actually be the best pizza I’ve ever had, slightly edging our Grimaldis. Be prepared, there are no slices here and they only take cash, so come with an empty stomach and a full wallet.

The best pizza this side of Brooklyn. Salads(Caesar and Greek), Antipasto and home made desserts are also favorites. Friendly staff.

We love it. Beer and Pizza… what else do you need. I suggest the Supreme or Clam.

Pie at Salvatore’s was good. Not great but just good. I would come back here in anytime. Why 3 stars and not 4 you ask? If was able to give ½ a star I would give 3.5 stars. Pizza was good. The dough was very thin, sauce very fresh. Garlic bread was delicious. Very garlicky which was fantastic. I could eat that and some tomato sauce, with wine or beer and be a happy camper. Side of meatball was a bit disappointing. It may taste like a meatball but it was in the shape of a mini meat loaf sliced up. Maybe they ran out of meatballs and they used what they use for pizza toppings? Not sure and I don’t plan to order that item again. Service was good, very attentive and friendly.

So, when you go to the pie, you should know it’s the coal fired, thin crust style, and you should probably get the supreme. The clam pie I had was loaded up but quite dry and maybe the slightest bit chewy, I drizzled some truffle oil over it and it was a little easier to handle… However I’ve had much better. The standard margarita or plain, was real good, some fresh basil would go a long way if you’ve got some to add a punch of flavor it seems to ever so slightly lack. But the king is the supreme, the meats, this fabulous pie is flawless. You’ll spend a bit too much in my opinion but it’s in line with others like it. I’d definitely go back for more but I wouldn’t enjoy spending the money. They charge enough where they should pay attention to detail more. The little things count, like when ordering half and half pies, actually getting it instead of a 2.5 slice to 5.5 slice ratio. The service is so-so and they are cash only despite having a credit scanner. Sounds like an old school front. I’ve had better so I can’t give them 4 however I do suggest trying em out.

The best ingredients that make the BEST pie. Cant believe its taken me this long to review this place. I have been coming here and introducing family and friends to this place for around six years now. Myself and anyone I have told to go here has never been disappointed. Their sauce is so fresh and their toppings are legit fresh not processed. I highly recommend getting ricotta on your pizza its amazing. No Slices — Cash Only — Bring the whole family! I am a loyal fan.

Good pizza, but they are cash only and the website menu does not have prices. Very annoying!

The restaurant itself is very cozy. They have large, comfy booths and tables if you have a larger party. Menu is simple. You decide if that’s a good or bad thing, but I didn’t feel like there was anything missing that I wanted from a pizzeria. We ordered a baked clam appetizer special, a Neapolitan/Supreme pizza and a side of meatballs for our little one. I found the pizza quite delicious, if a little too salty on the supreme side. The dough was perfect. The baked clams were… very meh. Bone dry on the surface and gooey inside. The side of meatballs was very generous and tasty. However great the pizza was, the same could not be said about the service. Our server was largely uninterested and rolled her eyes when we asked for recommendations between different pies. Cheer up! I know it’s Sunday night and you’d rather be home with family. It’s not good business to scoff at customers because they have a hard time deciding on their first visit to your restaurant. Also, it’s 2015. Cash only? Seriously? Your point of sale machine has a credit card scanner so why do you insist on cash? They have an ATM on site that charges $ 2 per transaction.

The one with the«racist» comment is another fool who thinks she’s entitled. Please don’t go there anymore. Make room for people who enjoy it. Thanks

The pizza is great. Better then Grimaldi. Dough has perfect texture chewy and crisp, cheese and sauce are right on the money. Cash only and that’s not a problem.

I had a private party here recently in the back room and it was spacious enough to fit about 30 people. Staff was exceptional and very accommodating. Our servers offered their help on everything from set up through clean up. Mike was a huge help in planning the party and menu. Prices were very reasonable and the food was extraordinary. No guest was left hungry or thirsty. I highly recommend this place for parties and dining! mmm!

While the pie is good the paper bag ISNOT The pizza pie is cold by the time you get it home A $ 27 pizza pie should be given to you in a box not a paper bag!

Thank God we only live a few miles away. If you’re looking for a thick crust or a doughy greasy mess this is not the place to be. On the other hand if you want to actually taste and enjoy the varied of flavors a true pizza can offer, you found the right place.

Just had my 50th birthday party at Salvatore. It is absolutely the best pizza in Suffolk County. All the food from the salad, to the garlic bread, to the salads, the pasta and of course the pizza was superb. Home made taste. Our party of 20 guests were all impressed with the quality and taste of the food! Mike even baked me an amazing birthday cake from scratch. The servers were great and very attentive. Overall we had an amazing time and cannot wait to go back for more. I will highly recommend Salvatore for lunch, dinner or any special occasion. I’m a pizza nut and visit many top pizza places in NYC and this place is definitely among my all time favorite pizza restaurants. A+++

CASHONLY! Came here for a friends birthday with a large crowd and felt the service was great considering the party was so large. The pizza was so good. I liked it better than Grimaldis. I read one Unilocaler say she felt the place was racist against Spanish people, I didn’t get that same feeling and my husband is Dominican. We were treated the same way anyone else was. Definitely check out the dessert platter– the group split it and boy was it good!

This place got great reviews so we gave it a shot. Very cozy, spacious restaurant. The waitress was wonderful. We ordered a pizza napolitana. I go basic bc if they can do that right usually everything else falls in line. Nice thin crisp crust and fresh ingredients. Nothing by the slice. It was a medium pie between the two of us. Could have easily fed three people with normal appetites. 6 slices but some slices were very wide. Should be eight slices. Would def come again.

I dont think there is any other coal fired pizza place on long island that gets it as right as this place does. From the dough to the toppings, they got pie making down to a science. The supreme pie is my favorite, but even something as simple as a Neapolitan pie stands out highly above any of the other well known coal pizza spots on the island. I highly recommend this place to anybody that enjoys a good pizza. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect place for some ‘grilled’ pizza! Let me start with the eggplant parmesan dinner my boyfriend had. It is our all top third favorite eggplant! Nothing compares to my mom or grandmas! This eggplant is slice thin, and fried to perfection. It has about 4 or five layers filled with a sweet tomato sauce. And of course lets not forget the freshly sliced layer of mozzarella that was bubbling on top. I thought this place would just be known for there pizza. We are totally coming back here anytime we want eggplant. Now we did think the pizza was great as well. The shrimp pizza just had this wonderful flavor that was not over powering, but just tasty and lighter then you would expect. The crust and bottom of the pizza is perfection. I think sometimes grilled pizza can come out too thin, and places often burn it. This place found a great middle ground for thin ‘grilled’ pizza. Very excited to come back and try some other pie flavors!
