We went here on our anniversary trip in August. Phenomenal sweet potato fries and the burger was great too! I would highly recommend it! Whatever sauce was with the sweet potato fries was to die for with them.

Maggies is one of the places to stop and eat in Bayfield Food is always good and the staff is very friendly. This is one of few restaurants open year round in Bayfield. We like to go camping at Big Bay State park but we always stop here to have lunch before taking the fairy across to Madeleine island(see our review of Big Bay State park) We came up in December for a get away and stayed at the Old Rittenhouse Inn(see our review for that awsome B&B). Maggies had a drink special Pecan Whiskey Hot Chocolate. Very good I had Two :). Topped with whip cream and in a cool mug see the picture. For lunch we tried the pizza which we have never had I think it was named Maggies favorite which was very good and I am very picky about my pizza. The sauce was zesty but not to much to over power the fresh cut tomatoes and the Pepperoni, onions, and green peppers. It was made with a flour thin crust which was just crispy enough. And as a added bonus for you Letter Boxers out there look for our Letter box we planted in the main dinning area, which we did get permission from the owner. And true to theme of Maggies our Letter Box is a Flamingo jar :)

Flamingos. Alcohol. Could become a bit crazy. Do not feed the flamingos, or let them sip your beer. We came here for a late lunch after our Apostle Islands cruise. And it turns out that one of the cruise employees stopped in for some food, as well. When in Rome… I tried the Wisconsin Pizza. Because. Bratwurst + Pizza = good time. And it did. They have fish livers on the menu, and I really wish that we’d tried that.(I grew up eating liver dumpling soup and Braunschweiger sandwiches.) I’ll now have to return. Oh, and the pizza was served on a gluten-free crust that was REALLY good. Fun local joint with character and color and good food.

The food was middle of the road. Nothing to write home about. I was very disappointed with the management. There was a very loud obnoxious women who was harassing a family. It appeared the manager went over to the table to assess the situation. The family ended up leaving and the rude lady continued to disrupt others around her.

Great food, bad service. We really enjoyed our black bean nachos and organic greens salads. The fish sandwich was also good although it still had some skin/scales on it(ick, glad we looked). But the service was pretty bad. First the bartender was quite rude, when we asked if the bloody Marys were spicy, she responded, «some people think they are, some people don’t.»(Not exactly helpful.) I wouldn’t recommend a Bloody Mary unless you love horseradish, there was so much I couldn’t drink it, which was disappointing because the garnishes of string cheese and beef stick were so promising. The waitress at our table was rude as well. Next time I’ll go elsewhere.

I guess this place wasn’t bad, but it had to stand up against some other restaurants we had gone to which were fantastic. I got a salad and the dressing that came with it was really good. My husband got a burger which he said he liked, but wished they would have added onion. I can’t say I wouldn’t go back because it wasn’t bad, it’s just that we had been to some other really great places.

Great atmosphere, good drinks, service was a tad slow. I would recommend ordering simple pub fare at Maggies. We made the mistake of ordering entrée’s and were a little disappointed. My wife had the pork loin which was very dry and underwhelming. I had the whitefish, which was decent but nothing special. The margarita’s were great, and strong! I’d go back as its a staple of Bayfield but its a burger for me next time.

We stopped here for lunch while on vacation. Fun, comfortable atmosphere inside. There were seven in my party and we all enjoyed our meals very much. The service was a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry so it worked out. I will go back to this restaurant when I’m in Bayfield next.

Unique place with a lot of pink flamingo themed and other«stuff» hanging around. What impressed me was the polenta fries that we ordered. They were something I had never had before and I really thought they were tasty, so much so I will be making them at home. Service was good. They were busy on a weekday late afternoon but we got a table right away. We have visited their sister find dining restaurant which is awesome and whimsical so I was expecting this dining experience to be exceptional too.

Maggie’s is a fun and funky venue. The menu is varied and will have something for anyone. The whitefish dinner was excellent. My chimichanga was above average, but not exceptional. The nachos and polenta fries made a nice paid of appetizers. This is not a special occasion place, but a nice casual dinner setting. I would definitely visit again.

This is really great food. They will prepare your fish any way you like. Planked, blacken, broiled it is all good. The livers are the best. This is the perfect place to go after a kayak trip. The pink flamingos say it all. Just too note they don’t take reservations so prepare to wait. No problem for us the wait was worth it. The white fish livers are sooooooooo good!

We dined at Maggie’s on both the 15th and 16th of July, 2015. Both were dinners and we had great meals both times. The pizza is hand tossed and cooked perfectly and their pasta was excellent. Had a Bloody Mary that was so-so but will not fault them for that. Cocktails come with a shooter and the staff is pleasant.

Food was really good(amazing fries!). Service was really nice, even to non-locals! My table made a mistake in what we ordered and they were more than understanding and brought us something else without charging us for our mistake. Has a cute theme with all the pink and flamingos, also THEYSELLSHIRTS?! So cute! I was personally joined by a local who said the place is so popular they sometimes have lines! We were lucky enough to not have to wait, but it would be worth it even if we would have had to wait.

Don’t know why this place had only 3.5 stars — it was great! Margaritas were good(and strong– look out!). I had the cedar plank trout, which was moist and delicious. It came with broccolini, qand I chose the sweet potato fries, which were perfect. My son had the brisket sandwich — he ate the whole thing! It came with fresh-made potato chips, which I can attest were delicious. My daughter and husband had pasta, which they both enjoyed very much. We split the crème brûlée and flourless torte for dessert. I have had better crème brûlée, but it was a large portion, and came with a wonderful mango sorbet. The torte was lovely, but the ice cream it came with was even better. The vanilla seemed to have a touch of nutmeg, and the chocolate was devine. Excellent service, great atmosphere– an all around lovely experience after hiking the ice caves! Highly recommend!

Visiting Bayfield in late October means that tourist season is pretty much over thus limiting restaurant choices in the area and it seems that only the strongest survive. That being said Maggie’s earns it’s keep by being in business since the 80’s serving simple food done right. Their menu featured a wide variety of hearty soups, quintessential char-burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas the pizza is not too shabby either. The restaurant is decorated with a bit of flare but, is very clean, the service is pretty good, and it seemed that there were locals in there so the place is not a total tourist trap either… The bottom line: this restaurant is a safe bet.

We went to lunch at this place this noon. But the business was so good due to the cruise tourists that we had to wait for more than 1 h. The decoration here was all about flamingo and quite interesting. It was a pink house and very easy to locate. I will say the service was just so-so, very slow maybe because of the large number of tourists. Now about the food, don’t order the white fish dinner dish, which was not worth the price. But the pizza and sweet potato fries were pretty yummy. It’s overall average restaurant.

Came to Bayfield to visit the ice caves. Not many places are open to eat in town during the week in the winter but fortunately for us Maggie’s was. The staff was friendly and the food was great. We went for dinner and came back the next day for lunch. The daily specials are just that… they changed. They have a great specialty drink menu too.

Reliable and one of must visit spots in Bayfield. Can be a little crowded but the flamingo art must be experienced.
