Since they moved locations on bell, they have gone downhill. The bagel place on 35th and Clearview is a thousand times better. As is the one on corner of 41st and Bell.

Will not ever recommend this place to anyone. Firstly The lady at the register looked impatient as I decided on my order, even though there was no one behind me, she also answered rudely to my questions about certain items. Secondly, she put my bagel to toast, then went to ring up another person’s purchase, after giving change to that person. She proceeded to remove my bagle from toaster & cut it. I saw her directly, I announced to her you cannot take money then touch my food without cleaning your hands or changing gloves. Its unsanitary. She scowled her face at me, unphased by my statement.

I have finally had it with this place. They do not believe in air conditioning so you sweat while you are on line and waiting for your food. There is never more than one person working during the morning rush so you wait a long time to order and even longer for your food. They make the customers inside wait while the one person takes phone orders. I usually have to walk out because I don’t have 10 minutes in the morning to wait for a bagel with cream cheese. Don’t waste your time coming to a place that won’t hire staff or pay for air conditioning.

The worse bagel… the worse scallion cream cheese I have ever had! It was so bad I could taste the artificial ingredients in it… Pancakes are frozen, not made fresh… It was just a really sad breakfast! Never again!

I actually had to ASK the lady at the front to put on her gloves after she touched my bread!

I have been ordering breakfast from these guys for a while now. Have to say, first time I ordered an omelet there, I was surprised. I actually prefer getting breakfast from them more so than other local diners. Excellent! Potatoes are slamming good! Bagels are perfect. Service is extremely good. They truly care about giving good service. The one or two negative reviews here I think were really exceptions and not the rule. I only wish they would open earlier and deliver earlier as well as everyday. But alas, you cant have everything :) Great place!

Unsanitary and health violations! I really was hoping this place was good because I need my breakfast. But here’s why I give this place 1 star. First time I tried this place I was waiting to place my order and noticed that the lady at the cash register had a plastic glove in one hand. I thought it was bc she was handling money with one hand and food the other but nope, she would go make toast or slather cream cheese on a bagel using both hands and then go straight to the cash register and push buttons in her register and handle the money with again, both hands! The bagel was nothing special but second reason why I give them one star is because their cream cheese was funky, apparently left out in room temp or just plain old I dunno. Yes it’s cream cheese but it is not supposed to smell and taste like smelly cheese! No thanks!

Bagels were good, but terrible service. The man behind the counter was dismissive and looked the part of «I hate this place and I hate you too» every second we were there. A woman who was probably a regular pushed her way through the line to the refrigerator where there was milk for her coffee. Sadly, she seemed schizophrenic and not like the shop wanted to say or do anything. The guy seemed annoyed that we had a voucher to use and rudely snapped that we could only use 1 per person(which we knew). Good portion of cream cheese and deli meat in the bagels we got– taste-wise, it was fine. We’re just glad we didn’t get our food spat on, in the end. There are plenty of bagel shops in New York. We won’t be back.

I’ve always been a fan, bagels here aren’t as large as they are at other places, but they have a wonderful flavor and chew but are lighter than your typical bagel. I also love their chicken salad. The chicken is shredded and combined with mayo and seasoning and eaten on a bagel, it’s a wonderful lunch. If you go after the lunch rush you may not find many bagels to choose from, so if you want a large variety, go early.

Bagels and Bake is a pretty nice bagel shop on Bell Blvd. Their bagels are pretty fresh and their service is fast. This place fell off the radar a little bit. They use to be located closer to Press195 and Three Bros Butcher. Ever since Martha’s Country Bakery moved into Bayside, I think Bagels and Bake took a big hit. There aren’t as many muffins and pastries on the display as before. Verdict — Bagels are always good. During morning or lunch hours, I prefer this bagel place over the other one that is across the street from 7-Eleven. The lady who works here is friendly and the service is much faster than the other place during busy hours.

The name of the business is actually«Bagels and Cakes» Bagels are ehh, nothing special. Stick with their breakfast sandwiches. I’ve also tried the egg salad and it was suprisingly good. Stay away from the iced coffee, its really watered down.

Bagels and Bake recently relocated from 40th and Bell to 42nd and Bell, which probably saves them from some of the competition from the red awning bagel store. Bagels here are okay, nothing amazing, but there are several healthy options, as well as sandwiches and bakery offerings(cookies, cakes, pastries, muffins).
