I was very pleasantly surprised by Chimac! After original dinner plans were stumped on a Saturday night with poor planning and reservations not made in time, we decided to try it out. Walking in we were greeted and seated right away. We immediately noticed the comical rubber chickens attached to the menu. After scouring the menu, the four of us decided to get the nachos and bacon cheese fries as an appetizer. The nachos were a-mazing! The Korean beef was sweet and tangy and the nachos weren’t overloaded with horrible things like most nachos usually are. They were perfect! the bacon cheese fries were fairly basic. Fries swimming in liquid cheese and some bacon bits on top. Basic but delicious. Also, don’t be discouraged. They only give you chop sticks,(How you each nachos with those, I have no clue) but you can ask for a fork! ;). For the dinner we shared some wings and friends got the popcorn chicken which they devoured. The wings I found pretty tasty. I preferred the soy garlic to the honey BBQ, but my hubs preferred the honey bbq. Definitely a must try!

The stale, wet rag stench here is NOJOKE. It is sooooo strong and really just kills your appetite. Why is the dry squid appetizer with peanuts so expensive? The squid wasn’t even dry! It was moist and sticky. But the cocktail drinks are off the heezy! They really need to do something about the stench though. Ick.

I really wanted to like this place — great ambience, good comfort food, and pretty decent service. We came with a group of 8 late at night planning to get drinks. The waiters were nice and patient with us as we decided what to order. We got lots of soju and the complementary popcorn was a nice addition. Some people in my group decided to order the chicken which came with a side of pickled radishes. Since I already had dinner, I decided I would just munch on the radish. We also ordered mussel soup which I’d never had before — it had a strong seafood flavor that was also very spicy. I was told that this is supposed to complement soju very well and although I could not see why, the soup was pretty decent anyway. That next morning, I found myself running to the bathroom to basically throw up everything I consumed the night before. Although I did have drinks, I did not have enough to make me that sick so I knew that it was the food at Chimac. My friend also woke up feeling very, very nauseous and the only thing that both of us had that night was the pickled radishes leading me to conclude that this is what gave us food poisoning. If it were not for the good service, I would have given this place 1 star. To Chimac: please be more sanitary when preparing our food.

Great service and beer! Chicken wings were excellent and love the kimchi rice and sweet potato fries! Lots of TVs to watch games too.

The place was damn packed only one staff was working, her name is Hailey. She took care of everyone even though the place was so busy. I am just happy with how well she took care of us. I am definitely going back to this place on a regular. So so happy with the service.

One of my go-to bars in bayside when I want to eat, drink and have conversations with my friends. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is great! I’ve been coming here for years and they have yet to disappoint. Highly recommended!

My experience at Chimac was alright, including some mediocre aspects. I came here to enjoy a drink and watch a basketball game: this certainly wasn’t the best place to do those things. My expectations walking into Chimac weren’t high, since I walked in once before to ask if I could use the restroom, since I needed to urgently, but the server, unfortunately, said that the restrooms were strictly for customers only. That was a bummer. When I walked in, I felt caught off guard that the server greeted me in Korean– I have a Korean last name but don’t speak the language. I felt put off by that, because the staff members can’t assume that everyone who looks East Asian who walks through their doors speaks Korean. As soon as I sat at my table, I smelled something funky, like there was a faint smell of urine in the air– super strange. Also, basketball wasn’t on the TV screens but I appreciated that the server was glad to chance the channel so I could catch the game. Since I already had a drink before coming here, I opted for the Pineapple Colada iced drink, which could’ve been better, quality-wise. It came in a large glass with a lot of the juice in the bottom of the glass, while small chunks of ice sat at the top, so I wish the consistency could’ve been the same all throughout the drink. Also, I had a hard time grabbing the server’s attention to order and get the check– she looked pretty busy, but still, we as the customers shouldn’t have to feel like we’re pulling teeth to be served! If anything, my time at Chimac confirmed what I like and don’t in a dining and drinking experience, so I’m thankful for that. I won’t be back.

Used to come here as a tradition on Sunday nights. They do a buy on get one free happy hour until 8pm, and the food and staff are always excellent. They’ve updated the menu and beer list in the past year, and the place has only gotten better. Plus the menus now come with RUBBERCHICKENS. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed, always a good time.

Had a great time here last night. It was a Wednesday night and by the time we left it was pretty crowded and I can see why. I had the kimchi quesadilla and my friend had a tofu stir fry. They were both excellent. Nice selection of beers and cocktail Lychee martini was as delish, not too sweet! Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other goodies! Definitely coming back with my girls!

Yummy crispy chicken and decent beer selection! My friend and I shared a 8 piece soy crispy fried chicken and an order of a Supreme Taco with bulgogi. The chicken was really crunchy which I like in a Korean fried chicken. Even after sitting and talking for an hour the skin never became soggy through the glaze. The supreme taco was pretty good. It wasn’t anything that impressive but the bulgogi had good flavor. It was really just a big fully loaded taco. For the drink selection they have a variety of bottled beers and five or so drafts which is more than the other Korean chicken and beer places in Queens. The space is wide and definitely a place you can come with one other person or a larger group and feel comfortable eating food and drinking beer at. A social experience over just coming, eating, and leaving. I didn’t get to try much so I don’t feel comfortable giving more than 3 stars(they have a bunch of stews and other dishes). But I definitely plan on coming back to give them a shot!

Great place to host gatherings! I’ve actually hosted quite a few gatherings here for groups of 15 – 25 and we always have plenty of space to sit. The staff is attentive and welcoming. Their layout is nice. you’re not sitting on top of each other or the next table unlike certain venues I’ve been to. Food is pretty good! I’d recommend: — Bacon Fries — Beer Battered Onion Rings — Scallion Chicken –Party Platter of chicken wings(16pc) All in all I’ll continue to plan gatherings here!

A girlfriend and I grabbed dinner and drinks here one Saturday night. There’s a modern, dimly-lit, lounge-style feel to Chimac. Plenty of k-pop/dance music playing in the background to set the mood, if that’s your thing. Cute little rubber chicken on your table that you would squeak to let your servers know you were ready to order. Our waiter warned us ahead of time that their Sweet Pumpkin 911 Chicken would take a while to be ready, so we had some lychee martinis and an order of sweet potato fries in the meantime to hold us over. The entrée itself was great — super cheesy and spicy for those of you who like a lot of heat in their dishes, and definitely worth the wait. Between the two of us, the bill came out to $ 90. A bit pricier than we were expecting, which makes me reluctant to come back again as there are plenty of better dining options on the Bell Blvd strip.

Decently priced food and drinks. For food its a 3 – 4 star depending upon what you get. I came here once with my cousins as they knew the workers & it was their go to drinking spot(living in the area and all). I thought that the service was good and especially for a busy night– as there was a basketball game(Cleveland vs Mavericks) going on. At the end of the night the servers/bartenders have a cart with Korean snacks & beverages going around the restaurant to fundraise/make tips. Thought it was a pretty cute idea to have for the restaurant.

This is a provincial rating. I’ve only tried two dishes, both of which were totally unacceptable, but I have very high hopes for other items on the menu. I’ll update this review according as I try more of the dishes here. The food took awhile to come, but the service was very good. It’s a shame the food sucked, but I’m hopeful the chicken is going to be delicious. Hangover Ramen: F I might have given 2 or 3 F’s in my 235 restaurant reviews and 1000+ food reviews. I can usually find SOMETHING good about a meal, but an F indicates that I took a taste, then took a second taste to make sure I hated it as much as I thought I did, and promptly threw the rest into the garbage, retching as I do so. No redeeming qualities. This was clearly the worst ramen I’ve ever had. Ever. And I’ve had Cup O’ Noodle ramen with cut up pineapple and sardines back in my college days. I love spicy food, but heat needs to bring something to the table. For example, spiciness can bring vinegar to the table. Or chili. Or exotic overtones like curry. But heat for heat’s sake is neither clever nor enjoyable. This ramen was 100% devoid of any kind of flavor. The broth was flavorless. The noodles were flavorless. The only thing it had was intense spiciness. And for what? What is the point of that? It really tastes like the chef dumped a bottle of white pepper into overcooked noodles boiled in water. Bleah! There was nothing interesting about the ramen. No half cooked egg. No cha-shu. No bamboo. Even if the broth had flavor, the ramen itself was no more interesting than Cup O’ Noodle. Heck, less interesting — there weren’t even carrots or peas! Nachos: D Really nothing more than a couple of tortilla chips with cheese-whiz like cheese poured over them. This sucks. Advice for the chef: USEREALCHEESEORGETTHISGARBAGEOFFTHEMENU. Advice for the owner: FIREYOURCHEFFORUSINGARTIFICIALCHEESESPREAD. Then, once you have the cheese sorted out, replace the baseball park crappy chips with some high quality chips. Then add something to make the nachos interesting. How about some guac? Some cut-up steak? Hearts of palm maybe? Nacho rings? How can you have nachos without the nachos? Que vergüenza!

Sigh I was really REALLY hoping for a MFC replacement(they need to be taken down a notch or two) but this isn’t it. Me and my friends came here for dinner on a Saturday night and ordered spiced fries as well as soy & spicy wings and chicken(dak) kang jung. First, they didn’t have bluemoon. They had everything but bluemoon. They need to understand their customer base a bit better… You can’t be running out of bluemoon in NY if you’re selling yourself as a Korean chicken place. The spiced fries were alright. The fries weren’t really crispy at all. Felt like fries you get if you pan fry… and mess it up… The spice was good but that was about it for the fries. The wings were decent but I did not dig the cornstarch batter. The spicy was actually spicy which would have been nice but it wasn’t flavorful spicy. It tasted more like it got drenched in black pepper powder. The chicken kang jung was extremely disappointing. It was SO. SWEET. Sickeningly so. I really love chicken kang jung and have tried many in my life. Whatever I ate Saturday night was NOT chicken kang jung. It tasted much more like sweet and sour chicken than chicken kang jung. Disappointing. The yogurt soju didn’t really taste like yogurt at all but more like lemonade… I guess misleading foods is the name of the game at chimac. Overall, probably wouldn’t come here again.

Cool spot to check out on Bell. It’s one of those spots that’s open past midnight on weekdays which is a ++ in my book. The interior of the place is very spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. I had the soy wings and spiced fries, both were very filling. For taste I would say 8 out of 10. My only disappointment was the drink which was a Bell Blvd Iced Tea, it was very watered down. Other than that I do recommend to check this place out!
