I was in this store at 2pm this afternoon. My experience goes beyond unprofessionalism. I was in the store with my 4 year old son — who speaks well — and asked for apple chips in a normal manner. For some reason one of the staff people, who was stocking a shelf, felt the urge to mock my child, and crazily kept saying«apple chips, apple chips» in a loud manner so that I can hear it. It was beyond bizarre — why make fun of a child??? My sister standing in another isle saw this going on, and heard it as well, and said lets get out of here; who wants to shop in a place like this. So I cannot comment on the pricing, the quality, the selection as I just ran from this place. There are many health food stores out there, People don’t have to shop here and have their small child ridiculed. On another note — the store was pretty empty, not sure if it is because it is a holiday week/weekend — but it would not surprise me if it is because of the poor treatment the shoppers receive. NO stars( Unilocal makes you give at least one).

The people working here are rude. I would NEVER go here again. I travel to get to this place and made a special trip today, parking was crazy, and I walked out with nothing after some pretty bad treatment. I’ll go to Fairway in Douglaston instead next time. They have most of the products that health nuts carries. DISGUSTING.

Great health food store. Very decent selection for a small store. Everyone always very friendly. Nice food café/bar in the back. A little pricey but nothing out of the norm compared to most health food stores.

Don’t ever go to this place if you want to get ripped off. Besides the inflated prices on every thing and the terrible service you get at the lunch counter. They have the audacity to charge you for dressing when you order a salad. I’ve been there several times and it seems the only thing they care about is making money anyway they can and charging you for anything they can think up. Don’t waste your time or money at this place if you do you are a sucker.

No one acknowledges your presence unless you’re at the register ready to check out. Common courtesy is not common here. Customers don’t believe in being polite and kind. The staff’s forte is not knowledge. Certain items seem to have inflated prices.

Really good place that has a ton of health products and food. For anyone who lives in the area and lives a healthy lifestyle this is the spot. The juice bar is great. The foods they make there are also pretty good.

While on the pricier side, I have to say that there always seems to be a lot of great new items at Health Nuts. As part of a family owned chain of stores(most of which are in Manhattan), I have to say that they know what they are doing. The deli isn’t always very aesthetically pleasing, but everything is tasty. The juices are pretty expensive but worth is since they always use organic produce… The green detox is delicious. There are so many interesting and healthy snacks. My favorite is the carob/peanutbutter rice cake. It seems weird– but it’s actually pretty delicious. CHECKITOUT! And considering smaller health food stores are not as common I do try my hardest to support them whenever I can.

I have to confess that I am a fan because my family and I have been coming here regularly for many many years. Cumulatively, we must have spent 1000’s of dollars here over the years. I always stop in when in town and grab something at their restaurant in the back that is open limited hours. It’s the main reason I come here. I have also shopped for groceries from time to time but it’s expensive – more than Whole Paycheck(Foods) in some cases. But if you are in the neighborhood and can save the drive – it’s worth it for the convenience. The women that work the restaurant – at least a couple of them have been there for many many years too. They are NYC friendly, which is unfriendly in most other locales. If you tip them, they are a bit more NYC friendly. But they are efficient and fast getting you your food and that is important – and the food is great tasting. Not an easy job they have. They have many home like prepared salads, sandwiches, wheatgrass, and other smoothes. Not a large selection, but healthy things you will not find anywhere else. I love the tuna, eggplant, spinach, brown rice, chili, organic dates, squash, wheat grass, and other new concoctions that they have from time to time. Definitely stop in and check it out if in the area or passing close on the Cross-Island Parkway and want something healthy to eat. Call for restaurant hours – think they usually close at 6 pm so the girls can go home and make more stuff for the next day.

Great place. Knowledgable staff. Can’t beat the selection of nutritional supplements. When I need something obscure or difficult to find. They have it! They also carry the highest quality of nutritional products including brands like«goldenseal» and other benchmark companies in the supplement industry.

We stopped by here because we couldn’t find a particular brand of gluten free flour that we were looking for at the Queens Health Emporium in Flushing. This place seems to be smaller but the isle is wider, not as narrow & cramped as Queens Health Emporium. As far as the selection & price, well, we found what we were looking for here & the price were pretty good. They also have a small cafeteria in the back of the store. The staff here were pretty friendly. Parking is definitely easy here!

If you are in the mood to get COMPLETELY ripped off, then this is the place for you! I was in a pinch to buy Baby Formula, the brand that I use varies in price from $ 25-$ 29 per can. Health Nuts sells it for $ 43.19 per can… Place is WHACK! STAYAWAY!

The reason why I am giving this place only 3 stars is because it’s pretty pricy compared to all the other places I go to. Other than that, they have lots of great stuff that are quite hard to come by in this area of Queens(maybe that’s why it cost more here?). In addition to their vast inventory of great organic and vegan items, they also have a sit down eatery inside where people can enjoy healthy eats.

I’ve been shopping and eating at this Health Nuts for over a decade now and I love it. The staff knows me and they always have what I am looking for. Sometimes I will go elsewhere for vitamins or order them online based on pricing alone. However the staff here is very sweet and very knowledgeable. The reason why I won’t ever stop coming here is the BBQ vegan ribs. They are delicious and usually very fresh. I am also a big fan of the café tuna. Being that it is so close to my running path, I usually get my dose of protein and Coconut water at the café after my workout. Its one of my favorite places in the neighborhood.

First… Anyone who thinks that a ‘mom-n-pop’ brick-n-mortar store can charge the same prices as Amazon needs to read a book about American economics. Amazon, like Walmart, is destroying small businesses all across the country. Second, if you don’t really know anything about vitamins and what you need, chances are they won’t tell you much here. Apparently, the Fed has restricted vitamins stores from speaking to their customers in a manner that can be construed as ‘prescribing’. So, go in knowing what you’re doing. If you know what you want, they are GREAT at helping you navigate thru the multitudes of brands. They DON’T carry products made by multinational chemical conglomerates, like Centrum, One a Day, Citrucel, etc. If that’s what you want(LORD help you) take a hop, skip, and a jump down the side walk to Duane Reade. Now, to the store… This is a REAL. B12 smelling… Burkenstock wearing hippie… Classic health food store. With the fake corporate places the gnc and the vitamin shoppe, they are a dying breed. This store reminds reminds me of a place my mom took me when I was little… This store has everything you could possibly want for any genre of healthy diet. All of the produce is organic. All of the food made in back is made with organic ingredients. The juices they make are from fresh organic fruits and veggies. There’s no bullshit here. And, no, the ladies who work here are not arbitrary ass-kissers. But they are pleasant enough, and they get nicer as they get to know you. The avocado wrap is DEVINE as is the kelp/cucumber/apple/beet juice. Every time I go, they seem to be unpacking a shipment. I see that as a good sign, stuff isn’t just sitting around getting old. I love this place. VERYHAPPYTOPATRON!

We were visiting from out of state and my brother told us NOT to go here, because the staff was really rude. We didn’t listen and went there to pick something up. Wow. Unbelieveable. The staff was not friendly, not helpful, not knowledgeable about what they do or do not carry, and overcharged us on the one thing we bought.($ 2.29 for a bottle of water, somehow got charred $ 2.50?) Don’t give these guys your business until they get new staff. We are all about supporting local business but I’d rather go to Fairway.

For a healthier life, do it the fun way. Go to Health Nuts! I was never a big advocate of gluten free or vegan, however, after coming here I have reached salvation. The store is loaded with all kinds great healthy alternatives. They also have a great selection of dried fruits and nuts. I love the dark chocolate almonds and the mango. If you want prepared food, there is a great selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free foods in the back where they also make fresh juices.

Don’t get fooled by the tiny store front… this place is huge!!! It’s sort of like a mini Whole Foods! They carry all of the organic and specialty shampoos and conditioners for the CG(curly girl) hair method with lots of safe and natural options. I also buy my Biotin supplements here and they have a wonderful variety of dried fruits I enjoy to snack on. Definitely recommended.
