Jackson Hole

Previously I would have given them four stars. The food and service was always good. Unfortunately my friend and I went there for lunch yesterday and both ordered the chicken bertouli (sp?). Both of our chicken was tough and tasted like it was reheated old chicken. We should have complained but I have a problem with sending food back because I don’t know what, if anything, I’ll get back. Was by far the worst meal I ever had there. Hoping it’s an aberration and one time problem. Service was good and wait staff was attentive.

We love and order from Jackson Hole in Astoria ALL THE TIME. Today we decided to try something different so we ordered from this Jackson Hole in Bayside. First of all the fries were very soggy and bland. We ordered a grilled chicken salad which was $ 18+tax and it didn’t even come with dressing. The burgers were EHHHHH! (Subpar). The shrimp wrap was virtually shrimpless. Bottom line, you’re not going to get what you pay for here. Stick with the other locations.

The first time my friends and I came here we were more than pleased with both the food and service. Our waiter was sweet and very accommodating.
This time, we were a little disappointed. Most diners make it very easy to split a check amongst friends. It seems that this is a huge hassle for the Jackson hole and both times it has put us customers in an awkward position. Yes we feel bad but as a diner, this is very common for people to want to do. The staff makes you feel especially bad.
I think I’ll give them another chance but after a fabulous first time experience, it was disappointing to have a not so good one the second time around.

I came here with my girlfriend on a holiday right around noon. It has a neat retro diner feel, with vinyl seats, jukeboxes at each table, and all the stereotypical diner décor. It’s not the nicest place, but that’s the whole point of going to a diner. They don’t have the most extensive menu, but they cover all the standard food options from breakfast to dinner. There were a bunch of chicken specials that sounded good, alongside the stuff you’d expect at a diner, like eggs, burgers, and sandwiches.
We had breakfast, and we chose from a list of reasonably-​priced breakfast specials. I ordered a waffle with bananas and a side of sausage, and my girlfriend got scrambled eggs with sausage. We also shared a plate of home fries. The waffle was nice and crispy, with an entire banana chopped up on it. Our waitress found me some peanut butter for my waffle, which was appreciated. The eggs were pretty standard: good, but nothing special. We both agreed that the sausages were great, though. They came butterflied and fried, and were deliciously savory. The home fries, however, were disappointingly bland. I improved them by adding some salt and syrup. My girlfriend ordered some grapefruit juice, which came in a hilariously small juice glass that must have been about 4 ounces. It came free with her meal, so one can only hope a separate order of juice would come in a larger glass.
Our waitress was friendly and attentive enough, but we had to flag her down to get the check after we finished. It all came to around 30 bucks, which I thought was a good price for what we got. I really like that they stay open until 1 AM on weekdays (2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays), so this is a great place to come when you want some late night comfort food. I’ll be back to try some of the other choices Jackson Hole has to offer.

This is your average diner for when you’re seriously just around the area and want a quick bite. This was my first time here and it was an OKAY experience. Our server was very nice, but he barely came to check up on us. I had the Spinach Cheese Omelette and Mozzarella Sticks. The mozzarella sticks were actually really good, but the omelette was seriously slacking. This was one of the most unproportionate omelettes I’ve ever had. There was a shit ton of spinach and a THIN. i mean THINNN layer of egg and A LOT of cheese. It just did NOT go well altogether due to the heavy amount of cheese and spinach and like no egg. I only had around 4 – 5 bites of it because I just couldn’t eat it anymore. That was pretty disappointing, especially having to pay around $ 11 for it. My friends had the fries with mozzarella and gravy, chicken tenders, and a burger, and said it was not bad. so I guess they only do some things okay-​good, so you better choose the right ones or you’re money will just go to waste.

This place was amazing, the waiter was so nice and very fast. The food was amazing the waffle fries were awesome. They have amazing bbq sauce And milk shakes. Fabulous items on the menu everything you can you think of! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Horrible customer service. I wouldn’t give even One star. Never order food to go. Food was thrown in a bag and French fries where thrown in tin foil. Over charged me for one order and when I went back to question the manager he argued with me. When it clearly states on menu what the price was supposed to be.

I’m updating my review based on the most recent experience.
I called for delivery and ordered over the phone.
Ordered the turkey club — turkey and bacon with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo served on a roll or triple decker on white or rye. And the Texan. A chicken sandwich with a fried egg on it. We got sweet potato fries on the side.
Originally, we put in for the Romanian steak but they didn’t have any.
But for some reason, changing our order frkm a steak to a chicken sandwich became MORE expensive. How is that possible? Also, the prices on

were different frim
and their menu.
Honestly, the prices are out of this world. My turkey club is $ 12.30 as per their menu. The Texan was 14.30. To change the regular fries to sweet potato was $ 6. And sodas… The steak we wanted is $ 19.30.
Seriously? Anyway, my food cost $ 46 plus tip. I’m sorry, but diner food isn’t that great… We could have and should have gone to a restaurant where the food is much better for that price. Crazy.
I’ve had better burgers from 5 guys and Dhake shack and Turkey clubs in the city from Guy and Gallard’s for $ 6.75. These prices for a diner in Bayside? A bit much. They’re not even in the heart of Bell Blvd.
Whatever. I won’t order from there again.

I’ve heard about Jackson Hole’s giant burgers and decided to finally try it for myself. They give you complimentary pickles and cole slaw immediately after you sit down which was awesome bc I was starving. I ordered the Baldouni burger and my bf got the Western burger, both medium rare. They were definitely huge alright but also very very messy. I took two bites out of my burger and it just fell apart. Taste wise I think the western burger was better than the Baldouni, it was a little bland to me. Also, I upgraded my platter to curly fries and I did not regret it. I probably won’t be coming back but maybeee I’ll check out their Astoria location.

Five stars if you can handle the sound of plates being thrown in the sink non-​stop for about 1 hour. if you dont like loud places, please stop reading my review and find another diner.
Jackson hole has the best OJ ive ever had in my entire life. thats one of the sweetest parts about this joint, you see the cooks making your food and the cool OJ machine from like 6000 BC. the waiters are very attentive, ive never been to this place and had a bad experience. the food is delicious ive had about half the menu at this point in my life.
the burgers are huge– i wonder how many cows have died just for jackson hole. i mean, you can downsize a little unless your dwayne johnson and need a enormous burger from jackson hole.
the chicken tenders are mouthwatering, i usually come here just for that on a late night. no matter what time of day, this place is never empty.
they are best for breakfast, they have sweet deals where you can get things like 2 scrambled eggs, waffles, and a coffee/​oj all for $ 8. they have so many varieties and if its not on the menu they will make it for you anyway. i love jackson hole, please go!

Jackson Hole’s version of an omelette is: you have your filling with a very thin layer of egg around it, much like a burrito. I prefer my omelette cooked with the egg and filling mixed together, but this is just my preference. Overall, the food here is a-​ok. Your typical, run of the mill diner food… nothing special.
But I’ll go here any day when I’m in the mood for some diner food lovin’ because I get good vibes whenever I go here. The servers are nice and friendly, they have this whole old school diner theme going on with a bunch of memorabilia from the 50s. Plus, it’s one of the only diners right by my house, so I’ll take it.

Soooooo home of the 7oz burgers. The guys and I felt it was more like home of the 10oz burger and this is coming from people who can throw down.
Service was great, well at least the guy who took care of us. Friendly and attentive without smothering us.
The food was great in general but just me nitpicking, the meat needs seasoning. The milkshakes was good but upgrading to the extra thick wasn’t really worth it.
All in all we will be back in a month or two after we digest these burgers.

Fair at best diner food. Staff is inattentive and unfriendly. The burgers are great but Donovan’s a few blocks away blows them out of the water. Basically don’t waste your time here

What an unfortunate experience. We frequent many places and always give consideration to circumstances beyond control, however there’s no excuse for what we encountered today.
We arrived at about 11:20 a.m., were promptly seated although we were waiting for the other 4 members of our party. The first round of coffee was served in the first 5 – 10 minutes, it was all downhill from there.
The waitress was absoluely terrible. There’s no way nor desire to sugar coat it. She was a young girl, about early thirties with dark hair, glasses and no common sense. Two other tables were seated soon after us and although she took our order first, they both received the food before us.
Apparently she took our order and instead of immediately delivering it to the kitchen to ensure adequate timing between orders, she proceeded to take their orders as well and then placed all three to kitchen. I almost forgot to mention that it took her 20 minutes to bring coffee, orange juice and chocolate milk for the kids.
Now of course we tried to keep our cool, even with the two little girls complaining that they were hungry and thirsty. That was until the other two tables received their food; hamburgers, sandwiches and breakfast items. At this point, we expressed our aggravation and they assured us that it would be ready in two more minutes, which of course was at least five. Had it not been for the hungry children, we would have walked out.
Once our food began to arrive, of course there had to be mistakes. Which at this juncture, was all the more frustrating. Additionally, nothing I ate was to my liking, but in all fairness, the experience was probably to blame more so than the cook.
Once we were actually ready for the check it felt like we were being held hostage. We waited another twenty minutes, until we decided to make our way to the register. Once the bearded gentleman signaled our waitress she was quick to tell him that we hadn’t paid, at which I replied «how could we if she avoids our table we can’t get the check?» I also told him that this experience was beyond atrocious and he needed to make it right somehow, which apparently was 20% off the bill. Had we not said anything, they wouldn’t have done anything of their own volition; which is disappointing because they were obviously aware of the issues (Especially since we weren’t the only table that had issues and made it known).
Needless to say we will not be back there, although if Gordon Ramsey shows up to «save them» we might give it try.

We were seated promptly because it was empty. We ordered a cup of chili, onion rings, grilled chicken wrap with a side of waffle fries. I asked for my wrap to include avocado. The waitress said no problem.
My wrap had guacamole instead of what I asked for. If I were in my right mind I would’ve sent it back but I was too hungry to play games with the waitress or the cook. Service was quick and our food came out piping hot.
Mind you the waitress never came back to check on our table to refill our refreshments. The only time she came around was when I had to ask a busboy for my honey mustard sauce that supposedly comes with the wrap and when it was time to doggy bag my meal. She conveniently brought back the check without asking if we needed anything else.
The food had no flavor whatsoever. I get why they call it Jackson Hole.

5 Star Burgers! I can’t believe I ate the whole thing! They’ve been here a long time & for good reason. Consistently great big fat burgers that do nothing but satisfy any burger craving. Ye who complains of burgers «falling apart» should go elsewhere if they prefer the fillers needed to glue the meat together. More meat less other stuff works very well for me!
As for the critiques about décor and being light on toppings…
Décor is a matter of personal taste and over the years this place has become nostalgic on top of being somewhat fun and comfortable. Plenty of things to keep you visually amused.
As for toppings, my bacon & mozzarella cheese burger was topped perfectly. (SEE PIC)
Free WiFi and pleasant staff are a good sign of customer appreciation by management.

Ive only had the 7oz burgers from here and i love them! I love burgers in general and these burgers definitely meet my expectations.

This is a nice place to catch up with old friends and enjoy good food. I went here for Valentine’s day once and was not disappointed. This is a very sweet and special place.

I am a fan of Jackson Hole’s burgers!!! They are juicy, meaty and all around delicious. They are huge and I always leave with a doggy bag. I usually order the pizza or the chili burger. This time I ordered the jalapeño burger well with monterrey jack cheese. .. omg was it delicious. The fries were nice crispy and hot. The reason I gave one less star is because the service at this location can be a little spotty. Other than that the food is great.
I prefer the other location in Astoria. However, the food is great all around.
