Absolutely the worst restaurant service I have ever experienced! Saw the advertisement for Mother’s day specials and booked a table for a party of 6. As soon as we walked in, it was very chaotic. They were behind seating people and there were several people complaining before we even checked in. It took over 20 minutes to be seated even though we had made reservations. We waited near the bar area, which was littered with dirty dishes and glasses. From the moment we sat down, the server started apologizing, «just to let you know, the kitchen is backed up so it will be awhile for your food.» We did get our drinks right away and gave our order. After 15 minutes, he came back and offered bread. Ten minutes went by, he came back and said the bread was just coming out if the oven. Another server stopped by and offered to bring bread but never came back. Another 10 minutes, original server back again, no bread, but promised muffins and explained how backed up it was in the kitchen. After 45 minutes of no food, lots of promises of bread and muffins that never appeared, we requested a manager. When she came to our table, she was mostly uninterested and worried that we were promised muffins that didn’t originally come with the meal. I told her we would be happy with a crumb of something. When the meals did come, the entrees came before the salad and half of us never even received a salad. The food was ok, but certainly not worth the wait. Our table was never cleared, so we just had to keep stacking them beside our table. She did discount our food and offered us muffins to take home. Guess what– we never received them! And those dirty dishes in the bar area? Still there when we left. This place is so poorly managed, I can’t imagine they will be able to stay open much longer.

My son took me here for a late mothers day dinner. I really love their french onion soup. Ryan was our server and he was attentive, funny, and had good insight on wine. I had a BOGO coupon so my husband could also join us. I always enjoy the food and atmosphere here.

This was my third visit, and while the previous two were average, this was anything but. It was Mother’s Day and they had a limited menu. Wait staff was prompt initially and took our order. Waited 20 minutes or more for a single salad. Then were told they were out of the soup we wanted. Ordered another and it never arrived. After an hour the food finally arrived and even the management knew it was late as she delivered some of it personally. Ordered Mac and cheese off the kids menu for two of the kids, it was spaghetti swimming in a cheese sauce. Our food was ok but the restaurant was nearly empty by the time we left and it took another 20 minutes to get the desert. Asked for boxes for it and our check which we actually got in short order. Cannot say I will ever be back and you should skip it too.

Food is extremely mediocre and overpriced, though they like to pretend it’s fine French cuisine. The French onion soup was super salty, lacking in flavor, and just generally a laughable chain restaurant’s attempt at what is actually served in France. Found a hair in my salad, after looking at other Unilocal reviews it appears this is a trend. Our server seemed fake and acted like we were a nuisance. If you do decide to come here, which I wouldn’t recommend, make sure you have a coupon because they always have them online. Just use Google to find one. No one should have to overpay for the level of quality of food they’re serving.

We go here almost every week and we have not had a bad experience. We always get seated right away, sometimes by the manager who knows we’re we like to sit and what drinks we want. The staff is all friendly and good, I would ask for Stepani or Amy they are our favorites. They start you out with a bread basket which is good. The food we have had has always been very good. It has been cooked just as ordered even when we make request that are not on the menu. We usually have enough food to take home for leftovers. The prices are reasonable, although to save money join their eclub they always send buy one get one free emais.

We were customers days after it first opened. Seen it roller coaster from great to so-so. We had to send the calamari appetizer back. It was obviously frozen, smelled fishy, slightly rubbery and the seasoning on them was unpleasant. Soups were good, hamburger was huge and good. French fries tasted like they were warmed up 3 or 4 times? The menu had changed since last visit and we had a hard time figuring out what sounded good. They used to have several nice options. Ashamed the burger was the only option that sounded good. Service wasnt too bad, but forgot my beer. We almost left before meal after the appetizer and limited menu, but was told the rest was almost ready. Not the worst experience, just not up to what it once was.

My dog liked the leftovers. The staff was friendly. There was a hair under my sandwich. The carrot cake is delicious.

I’ve had Mimi’s food before…#ell, they’ve cooked my Thanksgiving dinner the last two years… but I’ve never looked at their menu or dined here. Loved the NOLA décor and servers were extremely helpful and nice. Prices were right in line with«like» restaurants. So was the food… lots of it but won’t knock your socks off. I would eat here again, just wouldn’t go out of my way to do so. Thanksgiving…thats another story. Dinner for 10(with leftovers) with the heavy lifting done. All prepackage with heating instructions. Turkey is «precooked» but goes in 1 ½ hours before serving so the house smells like I’ve been cooking all day BUT I didnt have to put my hand up that turkeys @ss. Gravy is homemade tasting as well. Mashed potatoes I doctor up, muffins, cranberry sauce, beans, pie. I couldn’t make from scratch for this price. It’s like Thanksgiving 101. Five stars for holiday dinner…3 for lunch today.

This was my first time at this location, but not at Mimi’s Café. The buttermilk spice muffins are everything! Customer service was excellent. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is because there was a piece of hair in my eggs :/but the manager rectified the situation quickly. I would go back because the food is pretty delicious!

Several years ago we celebrated Thanksgiving with family at Mimi’s. We all enjoyed our dining experience… So this year due to scheduling, we opted to dine out again and Mimi’s was the choice. Bottom line is that the Manager totally messed up today. Instead of owning the mess up he/she was a coward and let the servers take the wrath of the horrible experience. He/she never stopped by our table to apologize for the shortages. And he/she wouldn’t comp anything. Instead got a measly 10% off food bill. What a horrible experience. We had a 6:30 reservation. Didn’t get seated till 6:50. Shortly after being seated we were informed that they were out of dark meat turkey. Took our beverage order… Wine arrived after our first course. Then we were informed that they were out of sweet potatoes. The Madeleines that they brought out was pumpkin, not carrot nut bread as lists on the predetermined menu. Dinner served, no Apple orange cranberry relish to be found. During dinner we were informed that they were out of the Bourbon pecan pie. Hummm… Do we see a trend here. Now informed they were out of pumpkin pie… management offering a free«upgrade», what an insult, to one of their regular desserts. Ready to order dessert… limited to 3 of 6… We are out of others. Five of us ordered chocolate silk mousse pie. What they brought out… Who knows… They ran out so they said the chef whipped up something similar. Two ordered crème brûlée cheesecake. They received ½ slice… Hummm I wonder if they ran out of this as well. The servers mentioned that they had a lot of walk in business… So those of us who had reservations for a preset Thanksgiving Supper got the scraps. They did get two stars… The food we did receive was tasty.

Love Mimi’s. Ate here every day during my week in Dayton on business. Entrees, soups, salads, baked goods are all great and consistent. Crêpe cakes are kind of strange, but perhaps they just aren’t my cup of tea. The bread pudding, however, is delicious.

I am a professor. My dining companions at brunch at Mimi’s consisted of another professor and a superintendent of a local school district. Two of us are black, one white. Our server called us «girls.» I presumed she thought she was being cute, since she was not a youngster herself. We are 67,59 and 72 years old. After about three times of «girls.» I asked her not to call us that. Calling grown women girls, particularly black women, is insulting, a remnant from Jim Crow days. She continued to call us girls, forgot to give us silverware, forgot my coffee and generally acted snarky after I asked her very politely not to call me a girl. We go to Mimi’s frequently and this was the first time I had ever had a server problem. The food was great, the service stank. The manager called me to «apologize» after not showing up when I asked to speak to him about the service – he sent out the kitchen manager instead– but he called after I filled out a survey online conducted by corporate. His lame apology was she calls everyone«girls.» I explained to him that a lot of grown women do not like that and that I had specifically asked her not to do it, He was not sympathetic to my plight. Perhaps when some black woman sues his establishment for racial harassment he will get more interested.

First time visiting Mimi’s, was excited about the menu. However, our experience went downhill fast. Server was really nice but we received our appetizer but did not have utensils. Wait on refills was longer than expected. Food was decent but nothing special.

Our server Laura was either a thief or incompotent. We believe that the former is the case and the manager was possibly in on the scam. We like Mimi’s and search it out when we are travelling. Recently, we paid our $ 32 bill with a $ 100 bill. Laura brought us $ 18 in change. We called the manager over and, showing surprise, he said that he had given her change for $ 100. When he came back with the correct change, he then changed his story and said that Laura told him she thought we had given her $ 50. REALLY? Does a $ 50 bill look that much like a $ 100 bill? But, the corned beef hash was perfect, and we liked our breakfast.

I was pleasantly surprised by Mimi’s. I was happy to see the wide selection of items on the menu including healthy options — which is really important to me. The prices are very reasonable and the potions are very generous. Definitely worth a stop!

I was happy from the moment I walked into this place; they obviously have an awesome general manager! The atmosphere was cool. Everything was clean! Our lunch, service, and dessert were divine. I especially enjoyed the dessert– quality ingredients and presentation were far beyond the typical restaurant order.

The baked brie to share is always a great appetizer. The lemon caper sole was delicious. The rosemary chicken and frites was not the best though. It was very dry and tough. The food is usually really good though, just a little overpriced for what it is.(I.m.o.)

They are amazing! We went for breakfast today and it was beyond great! Our server was amazing and very friendly and helpful, when we asked about the portion size she brought us more food and didn’t charge us extra! The restaurant is clean and very comfy and inviting! Great Job!!! I love the food and will be back soon!!!

Always a good meal. Always a good coupon in email. Atmosphere is commercial but acceptable, slightly interesting, and sufficiently comfortable. The food is not the highest quality and far from not good enough. I say that because the steak can be stringy but tastes good still
