Not sure why reviews here are so low. This place is very good considering is in a hotel, in a business area. We had dinner and breakfast next morning. Dinner was surprisingly good and fresh. I even took a shot at the beef carpaccio and it was very good. Breakfast in the morning has nothing special, regular hot items — bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes… followed by cereals and a waffle station. The service was phenomenal. The person(Carlos) was very pleasant and went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience. I have nothing great to say about the Hotel but this place actually makes me want to come back there.

I was really disappointed in the Spaghetti Carbonara, especially for the price!

Great food and service. Pasta dishes and the steak are awesome.

I stayed at the hotel overnight with my love one night. We went here for breakfast the next morning, didn’t know they had a buffet because nobody told us at the front desk of the hotel. We had some sort of Groupon or coupon that we used for breakfast. We had to get regular meals could not use it for the buffet. My meal was regulation breakfast food. Nothing spectacular, nothing out of the ordinary. But it was really good. The coffee was good too. Super hot. If it wasn’t right in the hotel, I’m not sure I would just choose to go there.

Came for a wedding at the hotel. Hotel was awesome and provided great service and food at the wedding was awesome. However after the wedding they carded the bride. I understand MA state laws, deal with them all the time… HOWEVER it’s the bride you cannot expect her to have her ID on her on her wedding night. Such bullshit. Seriously. Will recommend to friends not to have their wedding here because of the bar afterwards. You want to have a good time on your wedding and obviously afterwards you cannot here.

We loved the food. We ordered the pollo pazzo which was excellent, the lamb shank which melts in the mouth and a generous portion for the price, but we weren’t a big fan of the side dishes that came with it. The Portuguese seafood cippicio was very flavorful(a tad greasy), the mushroom ravioli was spot on. Nothing super exciting about the bruschetta but the waiter was curteous to bring us rounds of bread while we waited for food. My husband and son particularly liked the dipping oil. Our server Jesse did not seem super familiar with the menu, but he tries to be helpful and check back on us often to see if we needed anything, and because it was a Sunday night it wasn’t super busy so the manager would help with things too when our server is tied up(he was the only server around). We made our reservation an hour ahead and they had our table ready when we arrived. Ambience was great– not super noisy like some over popular restaurant so we can actually have a conversation. My 4yr old son is usually too distracted to eat when eating out — he ate a LOT. He also enjoyed the kids activities on the kids menu. Would like to go again during the day or for brunch to enjoy the outdoor seating. While we have not been to Sora before, we actually had our wedding reception at bistro 44(sora’s predecessor) 5 yrs a ago, and it is great to know that while the name changed the quality of food is still superb, and a great value too!

I’ve been here a few times, but just to the bar area. Food is good and Wednesday night music is a great way to escape and unwind, especially when it is outside. Biggest issue is that the Service is very slow and waitresses always seem rushed so are not very attentive. With more staff or more attentive staff, it would be a really fun place, especially with their nice outdoor patio, music and fire pit. They could also use a few more tables outside. Other issue is that the cost of food and drink are pretty pricy for the bar side. They could use a bigger bar menu that is less formal. There are a few less expensive items, and the taco bar is nice, but they keep it too formal. You can’t just walk up to the taco bar and get a taco and beer even though they display it that way. you have to wait for staff to come over and take your order. The place is going through an identity crisis right now.

SORA, formerly Bistro 44, was my favorite restaurant but that changed when it came under new management. The menu use to offer a variety of appetizers including a fabulous cheese tray but the options are now limited and include more salami and cured or fried meats. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops at $ 6 per Scallop… They were excellent but there was a long delay in being served dinner and then they ONLYBROUGHTONEOFTHETWODINNERS we ordered. Really poor service! They seem to be a basic corporate hotel restaurant now. Sad because they use to have a nice intimate atmosphere.

I went here late at night after flying in late during a business trip. I ordered the braised short rib, with creamy polenta and baby spinach. The short rib and polenta were ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS. The spinach was a little bitter and the food did take a while to come out, but because the short rib and polenta were sooo good, I still give it 4 stars.

Its Italian food done with a high class attitude. The portions are a little small for the price. The papardelle bolognese was waaay too acidic and there was very little meat. Mostly just canned tomatoes. I also had the goat cheese covered in a red sauce. It was a much better red sauce — or maybe it was just better balanced by the cheese? Loved the quality of the cheese, by the way. The Spaghetti Alla Carbonara was really good. It was rich but exactly what you would want from the carbonara. Going back? I went back for a second evening while on a business trip. Not positive one way or the other if I would go back on my own. Living in New Haven County of CT has kind of spoiled me wrt Italian food…

Let me start by saying that I was not expecting to like this place. Expensive restaurants located in expensive hotels are not the type of places I frequent. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a value the meal was, given the price I paid. I ordered the Peasant Style Branzino(a fancy name for grilled European sea bass) for $ 24. Not only was it a fair deal for a whole grilled fish(plus sides of jasmine rice and vegetables), but it was also cooked to perfection, allowing for easy flaking of the fish. The bread basket with pesto butter was also delicious, and you can also ask for another bread basket if you finish the first one. At the end of the meal, you get a handful of chocolate-covered roasted coffee beans with your check — a creative touch that added just the right amount of class that you felt like you were at place that was clearly above the dinner mint. The service is a mixed bag. Our primary waitress was not the most patient or friendly person, but our secondary waiter was very kind. Also, the size of the restaurant is small enough such that you don’t have to worry about needing to constantly call your waiter’s attention. If it’s a nice evening, you can always take your meal(or even pre-/post-meal drinks) outside to their patio. I didn’t experience any of this myself, but according to their website, they serve New England fare(lobster, clam chowder, etc.) on Fridays, and they also have live entertainment and giveaways on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and some Saturdays. If you’re in the Bedford/Burlington area and are looking for a nice sit-down restaurant, I wouldn’t discourage giving Sora a shot.
