Excellent Indian food! I had the lamb coconut sauce and it was delish! Hubby had the rack of lamb and it was superb!!! Portions were generous. I highly recommend this place. The wine was excellent and only $ 31 for the bottle. Very reasonable! Definitely would return!

Such a cool place to eat Indian food. If your looking to taste the food, please always make sure to be with someone. As this place can bring more out of a person to enjoy time and food better. I love going to this place every time I visit Bellevue.

One of my Indian(actually Bengali) coworkers did some previous research on Indian restaurants in the area and recommended Chutney’s based on his solo dinner experience. He said that Moksha(which was closer to our hotel) was not to his liking. We came here for the lunch buffet, which at about $ 12 per person is not a bad deal. Food selections were limited but the overall quality was decent. It does not quite compare to Favorite Indian in San Ramon, CA which I rated 5 stars for $ 9.99 lunch though. So 3 stars for Chutney. Positives: Veggie Biryani, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and of course the pureed spinach dish. Rice pudding dessert was thick and good! Negatives: Naan was a bit dry and tended to fall apart, no host present so we had to flag down a waiter(and probably inadvertently cutting in front of another party waiting in the entrance in the process), very limited selections.

The lunch buffet is amazing! The food is fresh… delicious…authentic…the spices… sensational! This is a great restaurant for Vegetarians too. I would come back again, as Chutney’s is truly unique Indian cuisine in the Bellevue/Seattle area. One of the best authentic Indian food experience I’ve had! The rice pudding was very delicious. I am a huge fan of the cardamom spice, and it is made to perfection! Very serene ambiance… the Buddha Bar music makes it a relaxing experience for lunch. Great place to enjoy Indian cuisine!

The food is tasty, but a little over priced. I also find it odd that the curry dishes don’t come with naan or rice, no one eats curry like a soup– at least not in the traditional sense of the word. However the service is great, and overall quality and experience is positive, if they added a starch/carb. side dish to their curry/meat orders, or brought out a complimentary appetizer like papadums and chutney, it would be a 5 star restaurant in my book.

Been here for both the lunch buffet and for dinner. Food is always good. Service for lunch buffet is always terrible. Service for dinner has been good. It’s a good food value, especially for this area of Bellevue.

This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had, and prices are reasonable considering the elegant ambiance and downtown Bellevue location. The vegetable samosas, paneer tikka masala, paneer naan, and mango rita are amazing.

As the last reviewer stated, I am also surprised to see that Chutneys has a 3 star rating. I absolutely LOVETHISPLACE. I have dined in and taken to-go orders on many occasions and have never had any issues. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is awesome, which in my books equals a killer combination. Every time I go to dine in or take out, the staff is so incredibly friendly and appreciative of my business. Some of my favorite dishes are the tikka marsala, lamb biryani, coconut curry and the cilantro naan. My absolute favorite Indian restaurant in Bellevue hands down. Keep up the awesome work Chutney’s!

I am surprised to see 3 stars for this place. But I would definitely give it more than 5 if I can. Food: I am eating indian food since last 24 years. I think I can’t go wrong in judging indian food taste. Trust me, this resturant serves really good indian food. Till now I have tried their garlic naan, kabob platter, bhindi masala, malai kofta, chicken tikka masala. They never dissappointed me. Kabobs are amazing, nicely cooked, pleasant aroma and juicy. Ambience : When I am eating(especially dinner), I want a place to be silent. This is one of the best places for people like me. They keep it little dark. Candles on each table. I would say, you must try this place at least once.

I love this place. Especially their Indian like chicken strip things. Their smoothies are also to die for.

I have had takeout from here a couple of times and both were really good and delivery fast. All vegetarian dishes on the menu have been excellent!

heck, i never knew this was here. parking is a bear. the place was empty on a sunday night. the good was there was no rushing to get us in and out, because it’s pretty small inside. we ordered the chicken tikka masala, the mixed grill and veggies. the grilled meats were a bit over done, but the masala was good. sort of a stand bye. we tried to order drinks but the bartender wasn’t there yet. so i settled on a beer, which was fine. it’s sort of out of the way for me and the parking is a barrier to me making it back, but it was nice inside. there are window seats to people watch, but not much going on for a sunday night. a mongo group came in as we were leaving, so at least they have some night business. i saw a bit of take out while we were in there, so maybe that’s where the volume comes from.

2.5 Lunch buffet price is 9.95. Nan is warm and delicious. Others are just like other Indian buffet. Cleanness is good, staff is good. Payment system is not what I like and ask automated tip even it is buffet. I gave 10% but the owner did not give customers copy and explain waitress how much I gave tip to her… What??? So I push the button for customers copy and took it and walk.

We ordered chicken tikka masala, cashew lamb, rice, and naan. And they do charge extra for rice. When our food was served, one of the entrees was wrong. 10 minutes later, the correct dish came out. Unfortunately, the cashew lamb dish had a bland taste and wasn’t at all spicy. I’m not sure if it was supposed to be spicy although we had ordered a 3 out 5 spicy level. The chicken tikka masala was better and we both enjoyed that entrée although the price seemed high($ 15) for the amount served. However, the worst part was trying to pay and leave. We waited for 25 from the time we finished eating until we were able to pay. Service seemed slow beyond anything reasonable. The waitress was apparently too busy to take our check. We ended up getting up and waiting next to the cash register. Very disappointing service makes me doubt I would come here again.

I live down the street and I came here with a groupon. I ordered my favorite Chicken Tikka Masala and it was delicious! I got mild spice and it was still a little spicy but perfect because any less spice and it would just be tomato sauce. Just be aware, if you don’t like spicy food, this is the same level as jalapeño chips, not unbearable but just enough where you keep wanting more. I was shocked that the rice does not come with it because most in Indian restaurants, the rice comes with almost all orders. I ordered the rice and naans separately. I came here with two other friends. Together we ordered two chicken tikka masalas, 3 naans, and one rice order and it was still about $ 40WITH the $ 25 groupon. pretty pricey. but not awful. Since it is so close by I will be back here for this dish, it was sooo good. The service was just fine too. Nice place :)

I wish I could give them negative stars because 4 hours after my meal, I’m still really pissed off. I ordered through Eat24 app for delivery. I was shocked that a $ 16 tika masala doesn’t even come with rice!!! It was literally just a sad styrofoam cup of tomato soup with small chunks of chicken. I should’ve waited until Kebab Palace was open for lunch and delivery. They have an $ 11 tika masala with great sauce, rice, naan, 2 types of chutney and raita at no extra cost. I’m a vindictive customer if your food is overpriced but you can’t even provide basic staples. I never Unilocal but I’m so pissed I had to. Then I will proceed to share this on Facebook and Twitter. I’ll also call the restaurant and tell the manager to add rice. Lastly, Halloween is coming up and I am seriously considering ricing the storefront instead of egging it.

We ordered online, and I have to say I was not impressed. PROS: The naan was tasty, though. I got the stuffed kabuli naan, and it tastes a bit like eating a cherry corn muffin, except with the mouthfeel of naan. Very desserty, and very satisfying. Additionally, the low minimum order for delivery was enticing and the service was acceptably prompt. CONS: I ordered the tandoori lamb and my husband got a chicken tikka masala. My lamb was moist and tender, but it was entirely too heavy on the yogurt, it did not have what anyone would consider a medium level of spice(what I asked for), and there was far too little of it to justify the price given the quality. My husband’s tikka masala was more unfortunate; he described the flavor as being too yogurt as well, and while I could see that when I tried it, the first thing that came to mind was Chef Boyardee. It tasted like a cheap tomato cream sauce, thickened with entirely too much roux, with a bit of yogurt added. There was just not the depth or variety of flavor that I anticipate in an Indian curry. Worse, this dish was nearly $ 4 more expensive than my tandoori and came with no starch to eat it on. CONCLUSION: I wouldn’t bother. Go to Royal India in Juanita instead, or even better, head to Saffron Grill in Northgate on the west side.

Ordered online, realized my phone number was wrong, called them as soon as I found out. The girl who picked up the phone was super polite, thanked me for letting them know and said no problem will contact the driver. Everything was good at this point. Waited for an hour and half. Food didn’t come. Called back wondering why only to hear angry driver yelling nonstop about how I «putting her life in danger» for letting her trying to find my place in the dark. It’s downtown Bellevue by the way. She then yelled at me like«haha, now you’ll have to come get it because I am not going back there». I was first surprised and then very much annoyed. I wasn’t looking for a fight, so I simply told them to keep the food. The driver then hung up immediately, which at that point I’d actually much prefer. To me, $ 20 worth of food is nothing comparing to dealing with this level of annoyingness. I’d strongly recommend this driver go pursuit a career as a teacher because she really knows her rights and likes schooling them customers to make her pity points ignoring that I had all the best intentions. It’s not the good against the evil between you and me. I’m just a customer who wanted to buy your food. I understand if there is any frustration and I wouldn’t have any problem if they just contacted me and told me no. But instead they chose to ignore and then yell at me even after I tried my best to correct my mistake. I had been a loyal customer of this restaurant for about 2 years. It was my go to place because it was close to my apartment at Elements. I stuck with the place regardless of how the plate is always dirty and they NEVER give you utensils for take out until you ask them many times. Will not go here again. Good luck keeping the restaurant running. Food is decent but service is messed up. You don’t want to eat here if you want to be treated seriously.

Went there on a Friday for lunch buffet. Firstly the plates were dirty. This was not just one plate… Several plates underneath the stack was also dirty with food debris stuck to plate. Then comes the items in buffet. Chicken used was definitely bad quality meat. I wish I could say some items were good but really I did not enjoy the food at all. Never going back.

This is walking distance to my apartment, so I go here for a hearty lunch since they have a buffet special for 10 bucks. I just recommend going early when the tandoori chicken is plentiful otherwise they will not make more if you go 30 minutes before closing. It’s not the most expansive buffet, but if you just want a large, affordable lunch then it’s fine. I once ordered take-out for dinner and the prices are overpriced for what you get. I was not impressed at all but my order, so have never again for dinner.
