Their slogan should be «you get what you pay for,» because the prices are almost as low as the quality. I bought a ½″ socket wrench. The socket head sheared clean off the first time I tried to use it because the metal was so weak. When I tried to return it the manager gave me a huge attitude and suggested I had misused the item to cause it to break. I tried to escalate the issue with the General Manger but he refused to even leave his office to speak to me about it. My issue was finally resolved after I got their District Manager to call the General Manager of this location and force him to give me the return. The DM was a good guy in the end but the issue should have been resolved without him.

Coupons galore and good sales often. A wise man once told me to purchase inexpensive tools as you need them, and if they ever wore out, you’d know that was the tool to buy expensive. This place is a great spot for that! I purchased a cordless drill, two full sets of bits, a large set of screws, a set of screwdrivers and a large pack of batteries ALL for $ 41.00. The usual, around the house handy folk will feel capable to DIY without breaking the bank, which is GREAT! Also recommend their tarp selection for campers– tarps are usually SO expensive! Not here! Look online for super coupons and specials so you don’t miss out!

Great place to come if you don’t want to spend a lot of money but you still need the right tool for the job. I also get all my gardening and work gloves here — their prices are 1⁄3rd what they charge at other places. Ask to get on their mailing list so you can receive their flyers/coupons.

I sometimes buy tools at Harbor Freight for one-off jobs. It can be even cheaper than renting for the course of a job. Electric tool quality can be spotty. I had a sawzall that literally disintegrated in my hands. Did that bother me? Not really since it had cost me $ 8 on sale and lasted 18 mos. I also bought a ‘disposable’ chop saw to install some crown moulding. That I’ve had for 8+ years now. One thing to note is that their hand tools have a lifetime warranty. So if you keep the receipt, you should be able to replace anything that breaks, forever. That’s pretty good value for cheap tools. If you’re learning how to use a tool before deciding on a major purchase buying a version from this store while you work on your technique can be a good option before spending big bucks DeWalt/Bosch/Freud/etc. If you can learn to do well with a Harbor Freight tool, you’ll do even better with a top-end tool. At the very least, Harbor Freight Tools is an interesting place to visit. You never know what kind of gadget or new tool they’ll have in stock for you to experiment with or solve a particular problem.

Was in today with my mom and dad. Mom had bought a tile saw as a Christmas gift. Dad had circled the one he was interested in in the ad, but only the display model was there. Mom tracked down a salesperson and asked if they had more in stock. The sales person pointed to the more expensive model and told her it was the same thing, just a different color.(Untrue…it’s a bulkier model with a built in table, not what my dad wanted) They talked her into buying it, and she used a 30% off coupon. Today, we went in to exchange it. First, they told us there would be a restock fee of $ 36. We told them they sold is a different model than the one we wanted, so the manager canceled that fee. The woman who initially sold the wrong model was there and corrobborated, if huffily. Then, the price didn’t look right, so mom asked and they said you can’t reuse the 30% coupon. After much talking, the manager very angrily informed us that she would put her career«on the line» to process the discounted price manually. Aside from this passive aggresive service experience, we did all the lifting and carrying of the items to be exchanged ourselves, no employee stepped out from behind a register though it was not busy. Very frustrating experience, I am far less likely to purchase here. All the tacked-on service fees as well as the manager being unable to process a discount easily speaks to an organizational problem.

Poor signage for a first time visit, cashier staff very interesting — job done and all upsell procedures completed however no one needed to be standing there… weird You need a cheap one off tool perfect — if you are looking for quality tools not here but thats ok as they are not meant for that purpose… All sorts of a mix of other things — great spot for cheap pricing on farm/trailer/hydraulic stuff… This one is a bit smaller store compared to the others I’ve been too.

If you want REALLY cheap stuff from China… this is your place. Bear in mind, this is not a complete hardware store… if you need specific parts… this may not be the place to go. Harbor Freight seems good for very specific things, I bought a bumper hitch, the plastic greenhouse seemed like a good deal, and there is always 20% of one item. But seriously, I am not a tool guy, I’m not that handy, but Harbor Freight fills a niche… super cheap parts, if they have what you need, Stop by, it’s fun and different, though I am not sure it if will have what you are looking for!
