Delicious Indian food! We ordered takeout and it was really good, very reasonably priced, and friendly service while we waited. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Vegetarian friendly.

Absolutely Wonderful. Having been to India I am constantly trying to find indian food that stays true to what indian food is. Tandoori bites is just that. The flavors are out of this world, the service is friendly, and there’s plenty to choose from. I’ve had my fair share of food from this menu, and everything has been truly spectacular. Highly recommend.

I first wrote a review of this place in Nov ’14. Loved it. Since that time I have been back several times with each time just being slightly worse than the previous one. This last visit finished the place off as far as I’m concerned. It took 45 minutes to get our food and then they brought the wrong dish. The waitress was pleasant but frazzled. I think she might have been the only one in the place. And to top it off, there was an error on our bill which was supposedly corrected and then when I got the credit card statement I found out that it hadn’t been. Needless to say I have called the credit card company. Too bad. Now I have to drive to Ferndale for decent Indian food.

The food was pretty good but the service was about the worst I’ve ever had. There was only one waitress, but she only had four tables. It took over an hour to get our food! No water was delivered, and our drinks sat empty for 15 minutes. A dish that we ordered was not delivered, we had to tell her it was missing, then the price for it was still included on our bill. Also, a table that was seated after us received their food before us, my pet peeve. She mentioned she had to share all tips with the kitchen, wtf. Finally, an old guy with a baseball cap delivered our food. Where did he come from? Why can’t Bellingham have one good Indian restaurant?

Wonderful. Simply wonderful. If you have the time and are open-minded, ask for a recommendation on your order. They will offer an option that will almost certainly be better than what you think. Kind staff, pleasant and polite. I drove 25 minutes to try it and I was NOT disappointed. If you live in Skagit or Whatcom county, this is the Indian restaurant for you. They will make it very spicy if you ask – you’ll have to convince them that you can handle the heat. Im glad I did.

I love Indian food and I’ve eaten it while living in CA, MO, UT, CO, WY, ID, MD, MI, and WA. I ordered the Butter Chicken here and found it to be OK, but much more tomato-y than I remember butter chicken being. Perhaps I was served something other than what I ordered. I thought the sauce on butter chicken/makhani is supposed to be yellow? Instead, what i was served was reddish orange and tart/sour like a tomato. I’m accustomed to tikka masala being tomato-y but we didn’t order that. The naan was good(4 pieces= 1 order) as was the chicken biryani. The veg biryani was a little bland. This place does not appear to do lunch buffet. :-/I think I enjoyed Curry House in Ferndale more. I googled the recipe just now for butter chicken, and it is not supposed to contain tomato sauce.

Had dinner here on our way back from Vancouver to Seattle. Great food on a winter day. We ordered tandoori chicken, chicken curry, chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. They are all good, taste authentic. Portions were good. The Naan bread was particularly generous. My daughter, who is particularly choosy with her tandoori chicken enjoyed it, which probably says a lot for the dishes here. Will come back again if we find ourselves in Bellingham again.

Have to update my review, sadly. Since they expanded the restaurant the service is terrible. I called in an order at 6:00pm. They said it would be a 45 minute wait, so I arrived their at 6:45 to pick up my order. I then waited an additional 45 minutes for my order. Meanwhile other tables had not been served and the manager was comping customers because of all the delays. And when I received my food the quality that had once been good was now mediocre because of what seems to be drastic understaffing in the kitchen and over staffing in the front. My samosas were over fried and the stuffing had been emptied because it was overlooked. My rice was undercooked. And the dal and palaak paneer was so so.

So you are craving Indian food and entrusted Unilocal to find you that one amazing spot that will satisfy all your needs… Well let me tell you that tandoori bites does just that… They have yet to disappoint me and I have had countless to go orders over the year and even recently moved to mount Vernon and still make the drive because let’s face it life with out this place would just be incomplete!!! The one thing I really like about this place is that they constantly play around with their dishes trying to perfect them which truly shows that they are in business to serve us and our tummys the best Indian food in b-ham. Highly recommended the chicken tikka curry, butter chicken curry, «my fave the» chili chicken curry, tandoori chicken with mint chutney, and the vegetable biryani rice. Oh and don’t forget the rahita!

Had dinner at Tandoori Bites last week. The experience started off great… the guy who gave us our menus and poured water was very friendly. However, it took a very long time to receive our food and there was only 1 other occupied table… And nobody checked up on our table at all, water was NEVER refilled, just sat there empty. Also took incredibly long to get our check… restaurant still almost empty… The food was fine, but I would prefer to eat somewhere else where the service is better.

Your vegetarian samosas make life worth living! Amazing! One suggestion: a new phone system? So many times(at least 5) I have called and the line is busy. The first time I came in anyway, two others in line stated they had the same problem. The employee checked and it was off the hook. The second time I came anyway and the doors were closed. Now when the line is busy I don’t bother driving down. Please fix this!

Bellingham has not had good luck with Indian cuisine, so I was a bit hesitant at first. We have been several times since they opened and now remodeled. My worries have been assuaged, this is very good food at a great price. The remodel allows more intimate eating in a nicer setting. We do take out as it is close to home and fairly quick on service. I do wish there were more vegetarian sides and a few other appetizer options, but this isn´t Vancouver. We have Indian options on the South side! Enfin!

Amazing Indian food. You can really tell the spices they use are fresh. They brought us out some hot chai after we sat down, we didn’t even order it, it was delicious. When we got the bill, I saw we weren’t even charged for the tea — very nice touch. The naan is amazing! Had the tikka masala and I was very pleased with the sauce. Chicken was good — not overly amazing but not disappointing by any means. Had more than plenty to bring home as leftovers. This place will most certainly become my new go to Indian spot.

Such a disappointment! I was really excited to try Tandoori Bites. I love Indian food and hadn’t yet found a good spot to get it in Bellingham. We placed a take out order in late August. When my friend showed up 45 minutes later to pick it up she discovered that the order never made it to the kitchen. She sat there for 30 minutes while they cooked it. Though they didn’t mention it over the phone their Tandoor was broken so no bread. She ordered two samosa instead. When the food was ready and it was time to pay there was no apology for the mix up let alone a discount. The bill also seemed higher than it should be but my friend just wanted to get out of there. When she got back we discovered that though she ordered 2 samosa, they gave her 2 full orders of 6 samosa. The butter chicken had good flavor but was missing the chicken. There was barely enough for one person. We had a grocery store roasted chicken in the fridge and ended up having to add it to the sauce to have enough. The lamb was ok but not great and was also light on the lamb. And we got to pay $ 40 for all of this. This whole experience was a bummer. If the restaurant would have been apologetic at all, maybe comped a couple of samosas or offered her a drink while she waited for the food to be cooked I would have given them another shot. Crappy service + mediocre food = that was my last visit

Wow!!! I am so sad to be writing this. My favorite Indian place has gone straight down the porcelain throne! We have been here 4 times since they did the expansion on the other side with the bar and all have been extremely disappointing. So the first time after the expansion was done we brought my dad to try Indian food for the first time. We sat on the bar side in one of the new booths. The booths were horribly uncomfortable and there were nails sticking out of the wall from the crappy construction work that was just completed. Then our waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off and she only had four tables and kept forgetting stuff we would ask for. The food took longer than 45 mins to come out too. I chalked it up to the new addition and also the new servers they hired and thought they just needed to work out the kinks. Second visit we get the same waitress.(Insert eye roll here). Our food came out cold and she was all over the place again and it was dead in there. Again, I convince myself it’s the new servers and they are working it out. Third time and we bring our friend from out of town. It took 15 mins to be seated and 30 mins roll by and we haven’t even received waters at our table!!! We get up and walk out. By the way it wasn’t busy again! Fourth time my husband and I are dying for some potato pakoras and chicken tikka masala. There are only two other tables in the restaurant by the way and our potato pakoras come out. These used to be my favorite thing to eat and when I bit into it I wanted to violently projectile vomit! The pakora batter was completely different. Instead of being light and crunchy like they used to be they were half cooked and the batter was thick and heavy. It wasn’t even the same texture. The mint sauce that came on the side tasted like it was weeks old and didn’t have the same fresh taste it used to. Then we get the chicken tikka and it’s awful!!! There were 4 small pieces of chicken in the whole dish and they added a bunch of green peppers in it which were never in the dish when we first started coming here last year. The peppers ruined the dish and totally watered down the tikka. Poor service this many times and now the food tastes like frozen crap! I don’t think I will be testing this place a 5th time! They obviously can’t get it together.

After living in Bellingham for a year and a half, I’ve finally had a meal that gives me reason to write a restaurant review. I believe in the saying, «if you don’t have anything good to say… then shut the fuck up.» Otherwise I would have written at least 20 reviews since moving here. Tandoori Bites is located in a throwback-to-the-80’s mini strip mall complex thingie. Just look for the green rectangular sign the reads«Tandoori Bites Indian Cuisine». Congratulations, you made it! The inside is split into two sections; the smaller bar side and the slightly larger main dining area. The lighting was perfect and the minimal décor is suffice for the space. The staff was very friendly and helpful when it came to inquiries on specific dishes. We ordered the Paneer Pakoras(deep fried homemade cheese dipped in lentil paste, $ 7.95), Garlic Naan($ 3.75), Chicken Tikka Masala(boneless chicken, marinated in yogurt, garlic, ginger, and mild Indian spices, $ 12.95), and the Malai Kofta Kashmiri(dumplings of fresh vegetables and cheese cooked in a mild almond and cream sauce, $ 9.95). Everything was SO good, cooked and seasoned perfectly. I’m getting hungry just recollecting the meal to write this review and will probably call in an order right when I’m done. Yeah, I’m totally just gonna wrap up this review and put in a lunch takeout order right now. You should too.

I went here because I saw the great reviews but was not the case for us. The place is small and clean. We ordered breads, daal and a paneer curry. The breads were good(1 star for the breads) but the curries were horrible. The paneer gravy was red and sweet, completely unnatural, and there were 2 tiny pieces of paneer in there. Me, my toddler and my husband had upset stomach after eating there for a whole 24 hours none of felt good. The service was not great, they didn’t have any cups for the little to drink from, they didn’t have unsalted lassi. It’s faster if you order food-to-go(which is what everyone was doing there anyways) and they just made us wait over everyone else who ordered to-go inspite of me signalling atleast a couple of times we were ready. Overall, I’d never come back.

One week later and I’m back! This trip my friend’s and I split Garlic Naan, Dal Makhani(creamed lentils), Bengan Bhurta(purée eggplant), Chili Chicken and Rasmalai Bengali(cheese and sweet milk). The dal was fabulous. Flavor wise the dish stood out from the other vegetarian dish of eggplant. The spices were prominent but did not overpower the lentil flavor and texture. I did enjoy the eggplant but it was much milder in spice(not heat spice). As for the non vegetarian dish, the chili chicken was by far my favorite of today’s assortment. The chicken was cooked just right. I’ve found that a lot of Indian restaurants over cook the meat and cove it up with too much sauce. Speaking of sauce… The vegetable sauce for this dish was absolutely, hands down, the best concoction of fresh spices, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. I could eat a bowl of just the sauce. The naan was perfect this time, not too dough-y at all. The garlic stood out on this naan a lot more than the onion naan. I liked mopping up all the wonderful flavors. We decided to try a dessert so we settled on the cheese since the rice pudding was out. What a wonderful surprise! It’s a little citrus mixed with something automatic and lots of nice creamy cold milk and homemade cheese. The perfect way to end a spice filled dinner! One star has been taken away due to service(pleasant but slow) and my OCD about how disorganized and lack of flow the dining space has. The food is amazing so if you can get past the oddly arranged tables, weird separation of bar/kitchen and restaurant then you should really eat here. Everyday. Seriously.

The beat Indian in Bellingham imo. They used to have kind of bad seating but they just expanded and the new seating is great!

I wanna give it a 3 but the quality and service were very good. Only thing is my butter chicken was a bit dry. I loved that the sauce was thick. I did love the flavor. They did give me a milder medium heat, but that’s subjective at all Indian restaurants. Overall it’s a decent place.
