I just bought a house in the Bellingham area. My chimney was serviced through the years by another company, but I decided to go with Ultimate Chimney Sweep since they were a little less. Big Mistake! I had a cleaning done, but the experience reminded me of taking my car to a sketchy mechanic. The first thing they pointed out was that my damper was broken and that they can replace it for heafty cost. The damper is made out of cast iron! It wasn’t broken, the control valve was broken and can easily be replaced. Next they told me the flue extends too high and too close to the cap. This will require more $ to trim the flue. This house and chimney has been in place and serviced for years and the last owner used the fireplace more than normal last year so I doubt the flue needs to be trimmed. Anyway, they cleaned the chimney, but left me a long list of items that they«suggest» I have them fix including the two mentioned above. I’ve owned several houses and know that this house and chimney are in great condition. My suggestion is don’t look at this company if you’re looking for good service and value add.

Very satisfied with the work, surpassed my expectations(18JUL2012). Having moved from Southern California I had little knowledge around the need to have a chimney cleaned. After 9 years(house constructed in 2003) a neighbor recommended we have the chimney cleaned, also recommended Ultimate Chimney Sweep. It was straight forward to set up an appointment, the technician was courteous, professional, and clean. The work was quick and all the access areas were left completely cleaned with no dust/ash left behind — I even received an education on airflow and damper positioning as the sides of our fireplace had a number of distinct patterns that indicated an uneven balance. They’ll be returning to install a chimney cap in the Fall.
