As frequent east side Baldy’s customers, we decided to give the west side one a try. We were immediately greeted and sat outside by a very nice young man(I believe his name was Max) who ended up being the only reason we really got any service. Once we were seated, about 10 minutes passed by until we first saw our server. We decided to give her both our food and drink order then since we had already been waiting. That was one of 3 total times we saw her: 2nd being when we got our food and 3rd being when we asked for the check. It was not nearly as busy as it should have been for the lack of service we received. Overall really disappointed in our service(minus our host) and unfortunately we will continue to bring our service to the east side location.

Pretty good. Service was decent, brisket was a little dry. Fried Okra was spot on. Actual rating more like 3.5 stars.

Oh ya I love BBQ — best ribs in town in my opinion. Cute little spot on century next to Pine Mtn. Sports. Lcoal’s favorite is their corn pudding which is absolutely to die for. The cat’s meow sauce(spicy) is killer. I take everyone here who visits from out of town because who doesn’t love great BBQ?!

This BBQ place was GREAT! When my husband and I imagine BBQ this is it… Great smoked ribs. Tender, melt apart brisket. Crispy delicious fries. Yummy sauces. Great atmosphere outside. We went on a weekday about 2pm and had the entire patio for ourselves. We enjoyed the music and atmosphere as we had a fantastic meal!

While normally decent barbecue food, on occasion it can be downright terrible. Case in point. Today I wanted to order takeout so I called and they wanted me to hold so I said okay. I waited 10 minutes. They forgot me. I hung up and called again. This time they were eager to take my order. When I picked it up it took them 45 minutes. Upon eating the food we were missing 1 side, my burger had no barbecue sauce and to top it off there was a bread twist tie baked into my patty which was burned. Needless to say one long time customer will no longer be going there.

We had the special Danish ribs. Really tender; fell right off the bone =delicious! Also had a marvelous Margarita. This is definitely a new favorite place to eat for the family.

Awesome. Super small joint but great staff. This is how I know humans are supposed to eat meat! Places like this. Much needed after a long day.

3 stars for the waitress who was detail oriented ie thought we would want the blaring speaker at the side of our heads turned down. Thought we might want to move as the sun was blinding one of us. Saw that my friend didnt eat much of her roasted vegs and inquired on why and offered a refund. 2 stars for the rib tips which were dry, dry, old and dry. At some point its ok to throw them out and not try to make a profit on them. Au gratin potatoes are good, not fantastic but I’d order them again. It wasn’t a bad experience. but it wasn’t anything memorable or excited to return.

This is one of the best BBQ spots I have ever eaten at out west. Their brisket was great and the ribs and turkey were good, but what really set them apart were their sides, which are so often a let down at other bbq places. We had the slaw, beans, green salad and scalloped potatoes. The scalloped potatoes were especially good and not all oily as is usually the case.

Awful. Terrible service. Go across the street to McDonald’s. I’d rather eat a bucket of shit.

Wow! We had a party of 20 and a very hungry crowd after a day of basketball. There was a bit of a wait as to be expected with a group our size… But so worth the wait! BBQ isn’t something we do often because it rarely lives up to our expectation… But I can’t say enough about the food!!! So yummy, not one complaint from anyone at the table, pulled pork sandwich was awesome, catfish battered and Fried perfectly. Our daughter is a huge macaroni and cheese fan and she was not let down… creamy delicious. Everything was awesome all the way down to the coleslaw! Definitely will go back. Service was wonderful too!

BBQ Sundae for the Win! This option gets you your garlic mashers, your BBQ beans, pulled pork and slaw, All in one dish for 10 bucks. You can also order dinner plates of meats with one side and the sides are HUGE, you definitely can share the sides here. The Mac and cheese is so creamy and delicious. The hot BBQ sauce they serve on the table did not taste hot but it was one that snuck up heat on ya later if ya know what I mean, so careful pouring that on. The meat was so tender and smokey you may not even really need much sauce, I just can’t help pouring it on. Great service and reasonable prices for what you get. Check out Baldy’s if you love BBQ!

We love to BBQ and are pretty good at it. We rarely go to BBQ joints because it never lives up to our expectations. This place was awesome. Hands down the best onion rings ever. The cat fish was not heavily battered and greasy. The Mac and cheese was incredible and even better when reheated the next day. Be sure to add bacon when you order it. You won’t be sorry. The portions were large. The service was great. I rarely give 5 stars to any restaurant, but this place was even better than 5 stars.

My coworkers and I are big fans of baldy’s, and always stop by for lunch at least once when working in town. My favorite thing to get is the BBQ sundae– so yummy, and the portion is HUGE. it’s $ 10 and always at least enough food for me for two meals, if not more. I appreciate that they have two different bbq sauces on the table for you to chose from. They also have a nice beer selection and happy hour! Service is generally really friendly and quick.

We tried Baldy’s in Redmond in 2104 and loved it, so decided to stop at Baldy’s in Bend when we returned to the area. The experience here was NOT the same. Though the staff was incredibly nice and friendly, the restaurant and food were a HUGE disappointment. Firstly, there were TONS of flies flying around the restaurant on a rainy day. Then, the food we ordered was dry, dry, dry. We ordered the Extravaganza for the 2 of us. The ribs, pork and brisket were so tough and dry, we had a hard time eating the meat. The chicken was fine, but didn’t have much flavor. The sides of baked beans and potatoes were good; the cole slaw was okay; the cornbread was more like cake than bread. There was another couple next to us who sent back their entire meal because they said their meats were dry. We, too, had been contemplating saying something to the waitress, but she was so sweet that we decided not to bombard her with complaints. Sadly, we won’t be back.

The food is great. We didn’t have to wait very long. Love the rack of ribs and fries. The specials are good. We had the Danish special for $ 12. All the servers are very nice, they even opened the door for us.

Awesome BBQ! We ordered a combo plate with bone-in chicken and ribs. Yum! We also had corn pudding, grilled veggies, and onion rings as sides. The ribs were so tender and the sauce cooked on em was succulent. The chicken was so moist and juicy. The corn pudding was fabulous! We would pass on the onion rings next time; they were just ok. Also, the servers were really nice and helpful with finding the right beer to drink. Would definitely come back here if we’re in Bend again.

Excellent food and amazing deal. The BBQ chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. Even the white meat was moist and tender. The potatoes salad was too spicy, not my taste. I was expecting something more traditional. The cole slaw was good. We also had the BBQ Picnic Bowl, it was great. It had a bit of everything.

It was pretty late on a Monday and all we had eaten all day was a stale bagel and some cheddar sunchips. We were snipping at each other and I was considering selling Princess to the gypsies. Or eating my right arm. Or both. The first place I saw to eat was Baldys and I remembered bookmarking it on Unilocal so we were in! Princess wanted to get takeout. I wanted to be waited on. I won. She refused to order and said she wouldnt eat. Sigh. Our server was lovely. She brought me beautiful iced tea and both of us water and left us to power struggle. In the end I just chose things I knew shed like. She wound up with a huge green salad with basalmic, an add on slab of smoked salmon(it was big!!) And corn pudding. I make that at Thanksgiving every year. This was slightly better than mine. Also a yummy strawberry lemonade in a mason jar with real strawberry purée. Tasty. She inhaled the salmon and ate about half of the rest. Win. I got a half a smoked chicken, baked beans, and coleslaw. It was hard to choose – their menu is big and everything sounded good. I was very happy with my dinner. The chicken didnt need sauce. It was tender and smoky. I thought it might be too much but it was just right. We sat on their patio which has booths! Awesome. The only thing holding back the fifth star was service wound down as they got close to closing time and I didnt get my tea refilled and we waited a long time to get boxes. Minor stuff really. Yum. BBQ.
