Totally irresponsible! Never ask him to work your event. He will tell you he is coming, then completely blow you off! Ruined our event. We had 100 people angry because our food vendor didn’t show! JERK!

We were traveling through Bend and wanted to stop somewhere we could bring our dog and this place was perfect. Great beer from CRUX and delicious BBQ. We had the chicken plate. Lots of chicken, spicy potatoe salad which and pineapple slaw. It was all good.

This place is awesome. I’ve had the food here both at the truck and also had a salmon burger at the brew fest a few weeks ago. Both times, food has been great and the owner/workers are friendly and knowledgeable. I talked with the owner and was pretty impressed that he makes it all from scratch, you can really tell the quality of the food. Between all of us we tried the Buffalo burger, Salmon Burger, Ribs, cornbread, slaw and beans. Everything was awesome! I’m a huge fan of the pulled pork and its good to know where to find some tasty ribs when I don’t want to do all the work at home! We also had desert, which was a cherry cheesecake with one of the beers(I can’t remember which one) from crux as an ingredient. All in all… 5 stars! Can’t wait to go back.

I was at the Bend Brewers festival last weekend and had broken top Bbq. It was absolutely delicious. The beef brisket sliders were incredibly tender with a fantastic spicy kick from the Sonoran Bbq sauce. In addition, the pork sliders with pineapple cole slaw were unlike other Bbq I have had in the past. Very gourmet with a great naturally smoked flavor. Oh yea did I mention that both the beef brisket and smoked pulled pork were slow smoked for 12 hours. I was also very impressed with the hand made salmon burgers that were being cooked over the wood fired grill. They were so unique i can’t wait to try one again at the food truck at crux fermentation project. I would highly recommend any one to try out this superb Bbq. I can’t wait to try the ribs!

Only one person working the truck with high demand. Resulted in very slow service. Was told 5 minutes; it took 35. When the food arrived, it was ok at best. Portions definitely not commensurate with cost. Spent$ 10 on an amount of food worth maybe $ 5. Won’t order here again.

Not good, expensive for a food truck. Guy working there never cracked a smile. Spread the Chicken through the 3 sliders so as to not be able to eat them individually.

Loved the tri-tip sliders with the hot and hotter habenero sauces and pineapple slaw. It’s not expensive and actually quite filling to get an order or three for $ 7. The place is open at noon during the week and the sliders pair well with the excellent beers.

The food was so good that one of the guys in our party gave the owner a hug We had ribs, tri-tip, pulled pork and the cucharita sliders. It was all delicious, but the person working recommended the pulled pork and I see why. It was delicious! We also had every side they offered and can’t name a favorite. They were all ridiculously good! We highly recommend this place!!! And you can eat it in the crux tasting room!!!

I was extremely disappointed to experience such a flavorless meal from this food truck at the Crux Fermentation event in Bend today. Beef brisket, beans(no flavor what so ever) and a bland slaw. What surprised me the most is the over pricing of this meal $ 12.00 for lunch REALLY? I do see that there are favorable comments on Unilocal and I might be persuaded to try again. The unfortunate thing is that when I called to register my concerns his response was oh sorry and thank you for your comment… What about customer service when you bend over backward to please your customer. Such a waste of money to say the least.

I must have stopped by this place a million times wanting it to be opened. There’s no way anyone would put this much effort into eating at a restaurant. We finally found them open and the food was cold any not that great. I would try a few other BBQ places before I hit this one up.

Me, my wife and our 3 year old twins love BBQ ribs, so I was excited to check out BTBBQ while on vacation. We got the Full Slab meal between the four of us and it was plenty for us with the three sides. The sides were quite good and appreciated by young and old. The ribs were exceptional. This isn’t the disgusting fall off the bone like a used prophylactic BBQ, which I hate. The perfect balance of smoke, rub, juiciness and tenderness. The sauces were a nice addition, but I would have taken them dry without complaint. The«Rib Man» as the kids said was really nice and his truck is clean and looked great. He gave me a taster of the brisket without a prompting, which was greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to come back and check out the expanded menu for winter. My son, for some reason, really got attached to his menu hand out and insisted on going to bed with it. Pretty cute. I would have posted pictures here, but we snarfed everything up so quickly that there was no time. This place is great. GO!!!

Update: Well, I finally got to eat some of TJ’s smoked BBQ beans, and they were outstanding. Not too sweet, just enough but not too much tomato, a lovely hint of spicy kick, and the beans themselves were«al dente» when means they were not over-cooked mushy and are just a bit firm with good mouth feel and texture. Well done, TJ. Well done. Original Review: Y’know, sometimes it is the small things in life that provide the most pleasure. Like the Broken Top BBQ truck in Bend. Their BBQ heritage has multiple inputs, but it is primarily from Texas and Oklahoma dry rub roots. By any measure, their BBQ(I had the ribs) is outstanding. But to have it come from a food truck hauling a smallish smoker on a trailer(from Oklahoma Joe’s no less, if that means anything to you) is nothing short of astonishing. Their pineapple slaw is great, with fresh crisp cabbage with nothing mushy in it and with the minimum of «sauce». Their mild BBQ sauce is picante and not overly sweet. They were out of their smoked BBQ beans, but TJ(the proprietor) told me that it is not your typical tomatoey way-too-sweet way-over-cooked mushy nasty bean candy. There are a couple of picnic tables outside the truck, if you are so inclined, and on a lovely late summer evening I can think of no nicer setting in which to to stuff my face. And the final touch … TJ provides ample Wet-Nap facial towelettes to scrape all that goodness off your face when you are done. Oh yeah, Baby. Highly recommended.

If you’re looking for quick, delicious bbq in Bend, look no further! Broken Top makes a wonderful tri-tip sandwich(Texas Twang). The meat is delicious, unorthodox«pineapple slaw» adds a sweet tang to the meal and their barbecue sauce is absolutely ridiculous. And all that for under $ 10? Hot damn I think we’ve got a winner!

Was in a hurry and needed to grab some lunch quick. This place was close and I dropped in not expecting much. Much to my surprise the tri tip sandwich was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The sauce is second to none. Will be coming here a lot in the future.

We stopped randomly at this place while doing some shopping nearby… I am so glad we did. Holy pork! He is nailing this bbQ thing. Got a combo plate with the pork, and the quarter rack of ribs. Both are most excellent deals in terms of the amount of food and damn was it good. Mounds of succulent, rich, savory pulled pork, crunchy pineapple coleslaw, tender cornbread, and another side of your choice -$ 8. I mean. Come on. Ribs were falling off the bone. It rained BBQ sauce– spicy or not-so-spicy. Heaven and earth collided. The BBQ sauce is not your typical. It’s more tangy– peppery than smoky-rich.(The chef describes it as «Alabama style».). At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it but quickly learned to love it. It helped lift the entire meal and complemented rather than competed with the perfectly smoked meats. The truck is clean and well-kept. The owner-operator was behind the counter and behind every plate. He’s very friendly and seems to be a smart business owner. I wish him all the best and know that his great food will take him far. I hope to see a brick-and-mortar location next time I visit Bend.

Saw the truck with my girlfriend and we both exhaled a long«ooooooooo». Really sweet setup — smokers on a trailer, and nice clean truck. We ordered a half rack of ribs and a combo plate with slaw and Mac and cheese and corn bread. really generous portions and we actually took some food with us for later. The meat was really really good, and everything else was spot on too. Owner was nice and came out and chatted with us for a while. We highly recommend.

The BBQ here is the real deal people, some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been here a few times and I always leave satisfied. The portions are generous and the flavors fingerlickin good. The ribs are moist and tender and paired with a sauce that you won’t believe until you try it. I prefer the spicy, but the original is just as good. Today I had a brisket sandwich that made me think I was back in the south. A fresh bun with sauce, a heap of delicious brisket, coleslaw and pickles. I couldn’t put it down, so good. A bargain for 7 bucks, but there is great value in every plate. The sides here are awesome too, especially the mac and cheese and the pineapple slaw. This guy knows what he’s doing and he has the passion; you can taste it. Don’t miss out, go here. It’s important.

This place is delish authentic BBQ! My husband and I split the duet plate(2 meats, 2 sides with pineapple slaw, sliced pickles and cornbread). We had the ribs and pulled pork with regular BBQ sauce which was amazingly mouthwatering juicy. Lots of meat and great bark on the ribs. Pulled pulled right ratio of lean meat to fat. We had BBQ baked beans and mac & cheese for the sides. love homemade mac & cheese. BBQ baked beans are made with kidney beans which were good fir the first time for me. The pineapple slaw was okay for me but my husband loved it. We didn’t get the cornbread so I can’t rate that :( The owner is laid back and you know he loves what he’s doing… it’s in the food! Says it all! We will definitely be back!
