Many thanks to the staff of Deschutes Brewery Special Events! Our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding reception was held in the Mountain Room over the Memorial Day weekend, and it was wonderful! The food was outstanding, service was perfect and the location, amazing! They were very supportive, cooperative and above all, helped make this Special Day go so smoothly, we could not have asked for anything more! And of course, the beer was great! Thank you!,

Such an awesome brewery. Tried a DIPA, smoked imperial porter, and an XPA. Just beyond awesome. And, cheap too. Not even happy hour and all three came out to $ 13.50.

Deschutes is one of my favorite breweries. If you are in the Bend area, a visit to their brewery is a must. They offer free tours daily which end in their sampling room. Each tour participant is given four free samples of any beer on tap your tummy desires. Yummy! The tour is given by a staff member and is quite informative. You learn about how they brew their beer as well as the company. They are very involved in giving back to the community, which makes me love their beer even more! You can book the tours online which make it easy. I would recommend booking a tour online as opposed to showing up and hoping for an opening(especially on the weekend).

I love this brewery’s beer but this tour is awful. So disappointed. I’ve been to Laguanitas, Bear Republic, and others, and all others are so much more friendly and welcoming. I’d recommend not coming here and going to the other great breweries in Bend.

Bend is such a great town and the Deschutes Brewery is an epic pub. The food was wonderful and I pigged out pretty hard. I literally murdered a burger the last time I was there. Sooooo good. Whatever you order will be delicious and it’s really hard to go to other restaurants in Bend, aside from this one. It’s that good.

This is exactly what you’d expect out of a brewery tour! Make sure to book a reservation online — otherwise, you won’t get a spot out of the 15 people allowed per tour.(Except for maybe weekdays) When you arrive, they start you off with 4 free samples of beer(or ginger ale/root beer for those less alcohol inclined). We especially enjoyed the white IPA and river ale. The sampling room was SUPER loud, so we didn’t hear them call out our name for the tour and they ended up leaving without us. BUT they were SO incredibly nice that they ended up giving us a quick 15 minute private tour. Even though we didn’t get the originally planned 45 min tour, it was just as informative and we absolutely loved our guide Kim! We also bought a few 6 packs to bring back home with us.(Also, yay for no state tax!) Overall, just pay attention when they call out your name for the tour and enjoy getting your drink on!

Had friends visit from So Cal. We had not done the tour so we took them. We all loved it. Amazing to see what it take to make beer. Tasting room was really a treat. Our out of town friends bought super sized bottle openers for their boat and cabin. They loved it. The big surprise for me was a taste of Root beer. Best ever. I now take a small growler to get a fix once in a while. I love going to the smaller local Brewers in town but this factory tour is a must see when in Bend.

Stopped in to Look around and were created by the nicest«barkeep» in Bend. I wish I remembered his name, but he was outstanding. He was well versed in the beer and took the time to be personable. He was a tall young man with an amazing beard(I’m jealous). Wish I remembered his name but he was an asset to the brewery and a tourist city like Bend. We spent 100 bucks in the gift shop thanks to him :-). Any way. We had a great time and great tasters !!

I loved it here. We arrived and immediately were given 4 free tasters. We also joined the waiting list for the full 3pm tour. The four beers we tried were great I can only recall the dissident which was their special beer and that was great. We ended up getting to join the your ans our guide, Joy, was excellent. My favorite part was the art gallery at the end where you see ths original art work for the Jubilale. Each year the board picks designs from a range of local artist and they go on the jubilale bottle for the year. One of the many ways Deschutes contributes into the community.

This place is on the south side of town across the river from the old mill district shopping center. Do not be an idiot like me and think it is where REI is over at the shopping complex. We ended up lost and missed out on the last tour of the day. I heard on weekends(especially in the summer), one must book the tours way in advance on line. Well, since we ended up lost on our«amazing race» for free beer tastings, we missed the tour just by a hare/hair. Well, maybe next time. The beer tasting was mighty cool with four complimentary beers and a coaster to keep as a momento from the journey. I really liked three out of the four beers I tried, and my mom tried some different ones too, so I had the opportunity to taste 7 different varieties. They have a great gift shop, and no pressure to buy, but with the light, fun, party atmosphere it makes even a cheapskate splurge on some beer to take home or continue on with the party. We didn’t have time to visit the brew-restaurant in town, but heard awesome things. Part of the kegs and holding tanks you can see without even going on the tour… they are on view right by the entrance. A fun place once you figure out the parking and the destination. Hope to visit again. Keep doing amazing things… people love you.

There is no such thing as a free lunch, but at Deschutes Brewery visitors can sample four different beers any/everyday by showing their ID. I am sure the brewery tour is perfectly nice, but sampling beers while walking around their gift shop offered a great opportunity to try some of their offerings fresh from the tap.

Wonderful place! We went on the tour for free and had 4 tastings before. Excellent beer selection and tons of merch. They have these awesome things called crowlers — you can fill up any beer on tap and they can it for you. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. Pretty big facility. The end of the tour showcased the original artwork for the Jubilale beer which was neat. I’d definitely suggest someone who hasn’t been to Deschutes to go do the tour.

Touring Deschutes made it clear why they are one of the top craft beer breweries in Oregon! They have impressive community involvement and sustainability efforts, in addition to making delicious cervezas. Our tour guide, Joy, was so enthusiastic and informative about the company she works for. I have never been on a brewery tour that went so in-depth: not only did we get to sample four delicious beers for free in the tasting room but we went so far as to eat the raw barley and hops from which the brews are made. That’s how you truly take visitors behind the scenes! It was mesmerizing to see the bottling room up close and personal with the glass containers moving at what seemed to be 100 mph. Learning about the different steps of the brewing process from start to finish made me appreciate how much effort and time goes into the final product we see on our grocery store shelves. Of the beers I tried, my favorites were the Zarabanda Saison, Chainbreaker White IPA, and Non-derogatory Blonde. Be sure to check both sides of the menu out as I almost didn’t see that there was a back side! The variety of styles and high quality of each beverage should make every beer drinker a happy camper while at Deschutes.

Been on the brewery tour, and both times I had a great time. First time was summer 2014, and this year summer 2015. Tour guide for the June 2015 tour was Rebekah. She was great, fun, and you could tell she loves what she does. Tour always amazes me, and interesting to see where some of my favorite beers come from. Tour is completely free, and you get 4 samples at the end. They have some cool Deschutes gear, I ended buying a Drink Tank Growler, and Keg tap for it. Very happy with my overall experience, will definitely go again. Thank you Deschutes brewery.

This is an amazing brewery with some pretty amazing people working there. We have always loved Deschutes beer and while we were in Bend on vacation we had to make it one of our stops. We signed up for one of their free tours and it is worth EVERY penny. The tour guides were amazing and so enthusiastic about the brewery. We actually did the tour twice but with two different tour guides. They said some of the same things but they each had different facts about the brewery that the other did not say which was nice. Another plus, you get four free taste of beer everyday! So you can stop by everyday and get four free tastes of delicious Deschutes beer. I wonder if there are local who go by everyday after work… I would!

Since moving to Coeur d’ Alene we find ourselves driving through Bend often on our way to and from California. Deschutes has been one of my favorite breweries since I was old enough to know the difference between good beer and crap! The man has wanted to make this stop every time we pass through so this trip we decided to give Bend a couple of days to take it in. We scheduled our tour online then had to call to be sure we were both added to the list(they made an exception to allow 16 on this tour). We arrived a few minutes early and got a sample in the tasting room before we were escorted through the brewery by our tour guide, Jeff Wilson. The tour only lasts 45 minutes but Jeff has too much passion and commitment to turn down a question and spread some of his infinite knowledge. Our tour lasted right over an hour and we had a blast! Jeff was attentive, down to earth, knowledgeable and truly loved his job. They say if you do what you love you don’t work a day in your life; if this is true then Jeff has been lucky enough to not ‘work’ the entire time he has been with the company. I think all businesses should have someone who is this excited to work for them. We not only learned about the beer crafting process but about a second brewery opening on the east coast to better meet demand. We also we informed about their many different sustainability practices. The spent grain from crafting is purchased by a local cattle farm who raises grass and spent grain cows to sell the best product possible. The Deschutes pub down the road purchases all of their beef from that same cattle company. The malt used during beer crafting is sold to a local company who makes fertilizer for local farmers and not to mention that the brewery has made an oath to put a BILLION gallons of water back into river each year. I was turned on to the Black Butte special 26 which I have yet to taste. Each year black butte puts out an anniversary porter of sorts and it is only available in 22oz bottles of epicness. We purchased 2 of these bottles to enjoy at home at a later time($ 17 per bottle). Had the chance to try the Stoic for the first time and my oh my, so many favors that mix perfectly on the tongue and down the hatch. Wound up with a 22oz bottle of that for $ 17 also and will enjoy that next week when we move into our new home. I would do the tour again and again to learn as much as possible as I felt like I was only able to retain such a small amount of awesome informations. Heads up, the Jeff fellow I spoke of rarely does tours anymore as he has some pretty important positions within the company. I can only hope your tour guide is half of what mine was, we lucked out:-) Thank for taking the time to real my novella about one of my favorite breweries and awesome experience.

Free beer samples. Automatic 5 stars. Many beers you can’t get elsewhere you can try here. It’s fun! Go with friends, then you can try them all. Though it’s not my favorite Bend brewery, they have good beer and this is definitely a great place to go with friends to try their new stuff. You should go.
