I always like the food, drinks & location, especially outside during summer. The big disappointment is their service. I’ve been going here for 2 years, usually with friends before a movie or during an event in Old Mill. What is consistently the same is their attitude & total disregard for their customers or people wanting to eat there. One employee telling me there’s a wait list. One employee saying its full. Gruff & impatient waiters. Once again reminded tonight why I don’t go very often.

We were craving authentic Peruvian food and stopped by at Hola! for dinner. We ordered the chips and salsa that quelled our hunger. Next, we got the Guacamole Fresco that was made fresh at our table. It included 3 ripe avocados, spices, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, it was tasty. Three of us ordered the Seco de Pollo a Peruvian stew that came with a lot of chicken, that we enjoyed. Another in our party ordered the Grilled Baby Back Ribs marinated with Peruvian spices. The flavor of the ribs had a unique sweet and sour flavor infused into the ribs. So, if you want to sample Peruvian dishes, Hola! is your best choice. Hola! serves Mexican food as well. The bright and festive décor makes you feel like you are transported to Latin America. The songs playing also adds to the ambiance. The service is excellent. Our waiter even volunteered to take pictures of our group at the end of our evening.

My husband and I dropped in for a late dinner not long ago. I was looking forward to a tamarind marg(Hola’s is my favorite!) and some filling plates. I have come here a handful of times and usually love the experience, but this night was different. The staff seemed annoyed that we were there and uninterested in helping us(I checked the time, and it was an hour till close). The portions seemed smaller than usual and sloppily plated. It was a disappointing and super-downer experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but it’s worth it to know that the staff might have a hard time rallying for the late night crowd. I haven’t been back since but I would love to give them another try, because those tamarind margaritas just can’t be beat! It’s also worth mentioning that the prices seem steep for the food these days. It could just be the Old Mill/touristy deal, but it’s hard to justify spending so much when I can pop down the street for way cheaper street tacos and more cheerful service.

Me and my boyfriend came to holas and had Mario as our server. He was the absolute best server we have ever had! So happy, and made sure we were taken care of all night. Defiantly will be back again, he made it worth it! thanks Mario!

The food was delicious. My husband and I split a chimichanga platter. We both enjoyed the food very much. The service is slow, but that seems to be characteristic of all the restaurants in the mill District. Would return.

Do not eat at the old Mill location! We walked in, no one was eating… and it was lunch time…3 workers and no chips and salsa after 5 minutes, busser commented to the rude person who greeted us, «do they need chips and salsa», to which rude person said, «I guess.» The chips were in a huge garbage can and they scooped the chips out with their bare hands. Really??? Food was dry and bland. Service was disgusting and rude. It’s the old Mill! Unacceptable. This place should be closed down. Every other Hola in Bend and Redmond is great! Not worth the money or the experience, save your money and eat elsewhere.

I hate to say this because we are locals and used to like going to Hola and then the movie. Today was a huge disappointment!!! We went for a beer and a couple of bowls of soup and we were charged 12 dollars instead of 8 for each bowl of soup. We go every week!!! Makes me crazy. The waitress said that it was a dinner portion. We never asked for that. Then instead of making it right. she ignored us and I had to ask for my change several times. Maybe she was having a bad day but I won’t go back.

Stopped in for late dinner last night. These folks are accommodating and attentive. Good food, of course. We have been to multiple Hola locations and this is another good Hola experience in my opinion. Wife left her purse on the chair by accident, and«Paco» went running down the street looking for us. Thanks for caring!

Hey everyone trying to eat at The Hola! Sunriver location they are CLOSED for the winter season. Not sure where the mishap accrued but they set up a forwarding phone number to their restaurant and I’ve now been receiving about 40+ phone calls a day to my personal cell phone with people trying to make reservations. The number you read on the Google link isn’t my cell phone number but it connects to my phone when the links are used. Please let it be known that they are CLOSED, again for the winter season. I’ve spoken with a manager at a different Hola! Location in Bend who was very helpful and is trying to work on this problem but it still isn’t fixed and my phone is blowing up all day. Soooooo please let it be known they are closed and please stop trying to call them. Thank you!

So good! The food was very flavorful and well presented. The previous reviews almost stopped us from going but so happy we took a chance. The staff is wonderful; food was great. Definitely try this place. We went to the Mill District location.

I have been to Hola many times, usually a great experience, but after tonight I won’t be returning to the old mill location. Our server was extremely short with us and very rushed, the food and margaritas were smaller portions than they used to be accompanied with higher prices, and our server ended the night not by thanking us, or asking if we would like anything else, but by loudly informing us that he needed us to leave so he could seat a new table. I’ve hosted at restaurants, and currently waitress and bartend in a similar restaurant, I understand how things work and that people have bad nights, but it is never okay to rush your table out that has barely finished their meal… Nobody likes to pay $ 150 for decent food and a rude, pushy server. The other locations are so much more worth your money.

I’ve been here many times as I’m a local but tonight I came as a single and they totally sucked. It took them 45 min to sit me at the bar while allowing all the other two or more tops go ahead. Now I understand that larger groups need bigger tables but the multiple two tops was out of control. Also when I sat down at the bar they didn’t bring me chips till I said something. They said sorry as they thought I was waiting for a date. This is again after the hostess sat me there.

Went here for dinner with a family of four and we all loved it. A great Margarita selection is the highlight of the solid cocktail list. Most of the the classic Peruvian dishes are on the menu. I had Peruvian style ribs and they were excellent. Very good, attentive service.

Building is in disrepair just like a building in Mexico. The walls were chipped and the bathrooms were dirty and a mess. The service was very slow and I actually had to get up to pay the bill. The fish tacos were the worst we’ve ever had. There was only one small piece of fish, a skinny slice of avocado, a bit of cabbage and no sauce that could be tasted all wrapped in a flour tortilla. This is our 3rd and FINAL try at Hola. No more wasted money or experience in this place.

Food was good except for a hair in the beans, service was way too uninformed and casual for me. To start, a basket of tortilla chips mixed with home made potato chips was dropped off with two salsas, a red and a green. We asked the bus person about the sauces, she said something similar to «the red is a tomato and the green is something else, I think the red is hotter». The chips were great, especially the potato chips. Our hurried, informal, but pleasant server came by for drink orders, we asked about a featured tap beer, he replied«I don’t know what it’s like I don’t drink beer» and stared. We asked for a sample which he brought. Our entrees, Tamales de Puerco, nice pork tamales with red sauce, Costillitas de Puerco con Ají Amarillo(ribs, somewhat tough but nicely presented and flavorful), and Shrimp al Tequila(Prawns with red onions, Portabello mushrooms and fresh bananas), were all quite good except for the hair in the rice. The bus person offered and brought us a second basket of chips. We sat a bit talking, the waiter flew by asking«how’s it going» and after we paid«thanks guys» to our party of two women and a guy. At around $ 15 an entrée you’d think Hola! could afford to give their staff a little training on serving customers and the kitchen a few hairnets.

Used to be great but seems to have gone downhill in the last two years, which is unnfirtunate because we used to really enjoy the food and drinks here. Our last visit was on a non-holiday Wednesday night in August 2015. We arrived at 8:00PM, most of the tables inside were full and there was one waiter for all. After a very long wait we were eventually served stale chips and salsa. Sensing that service may be an issue we decided to order simple, quick plates(3 tacos, and taco/tostada combo). Two small children from the table next to us were allowed to run around the restaurant and continually bump into, lean on and play next to our table; the waiter saw this happening and said nothing to the other party. While waiting for our food we noticed the many greasy hand prints all over the menus, tables, windows and chairs coupled with a good amount of dust which has been lingering on the blinds for quite some time. Over an hour after being seated we were finally served what had to be the worst meal we have ever had at any restaurant in Bend. The chicken in my tacos had clearly been pulled from a can. It was bleached white, NO seasonings at all and dripping with salty water = canned chicken. We didn’t even finish our meals. We wont be back.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time and it very much so disappointed! The food was horrible, the rice wasn’t cooked. Service was awful! Not impressed and I would not recommend this restaurant at all. It was not even busy and people were coming to the desk and saying they had been waiting 20 minutes for a menu. Several people got up and left. But what really got me was that there was an employee cleaning a shelf while standing with his shoes on the counter! Disgusting! Side note, not the restaurants fault but their Internet was down and they would not offer any other way to pay then for them to write down our full credit card number and then process the payment when services came back online. I was not comfortable doing so, but they would not let me leave until doing so. WILLNEVERGOBACKANDWONTRECOMMEND!

Hola’s downtown bend is better than the old mill store, I think the foods better on Bond. I ordered the carne asada at old mill and they gave me a child’s size thin strip of meat and small portion of beans and rice and charge 18 bucks? not cool. On bond they treated me well with the same dish, it was twice the size. I won’t be going back to old mill.

I used to love Hola, now I’m just lukewarm about them. Love that they are locally owned and expanding, I’m glad they are doing well. The cocktails can’t be beat if you like margaritas and mojitos and all the variations in between. I also love the green salsa that comes with chips to the table. I put it on everything, it’s that good. Their food is just so-so. My kids love the bean burritos with rice and bean on the kids menu. Great. The adult menu items just don’t have much too them in the flavor department and I’ve tried them all. The chicken(that everyone loves) to me is dry. And i’m a sauce girl, I want there to be enough sauce on my enchiladas to make it through the entire enchilada. The menu is not traditional mexican, it’s Peruvian. To me that means even more opportunity to try something different. I want spice, I don’t want bland. I can make bland Mexican food at hime. Service is always nice. Food comes out fairly quickly.
