We arrived and entered with confusion on where to go — we had to search for someone to acknowledge us. It took about 10 minutes just to get our water and another 20 minutes to take our order. It was over an hour before we got our $ 80.00 frozen/cooked meal. We should have stayed home! Seriously you guys can’t even bake your own bread? — it’s bread! If you are opening so late in the day(4:30pm) the least you can do is bake for the price we are paying! My steak was bland(zero seasoning) and the beans were horrible! For a restaurant that has been around for so long and with people recommending it, I was expecting better! You guys should go on Kitchen Nightmares! STAYHOMEPEOPLE!

I have heard wonderful comments about this place in the past, so I finally decided to check it out. What a disappointment! I could have made a better meal myself. Go somewhere else — anywhere else! The entire meal was a disaster, from the watery cocktail to the undercooked potatoes. The bread was straight from the frozen food section at Safeway, and it had clearly been microwaved as it was tough and chewy. The whole meal really was just ok, with some elements inedible. At $ 40 a person, I expect to like the meal so much I want to lick the plate. This was barely average food at an outrageous price. Not only that, it took FOREVER. Don’t bother.

Fun atmosphere.. The steak I had was REALLY good. they serve beans to the table family style and everyone enjoyed them. you can get onion rings for $ 1.00 per person and they were crispy and good. the garlic bread was lack luster . No outdoor seating but they have a full bar :)

Very dissapointed about my visit to Tumalo Feed Co. Solely based on the horrendous customer service provided by the hostess. Before I go into detail, I will state that the Tumalo Feed Co. has excellent food, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere! I have greatly enjoyed the restaurant in the past, but on my recent visit, I was grossly dissapointed with my first steps in the door. To start off, I pulled the hours of the restaurant off from their website 4:30-close. I got to the restaurant with my family after visiting the Tumalo state park down the road. While waiting in the car, another family parks aside us. I see the hostess open the doors to the restaurant and both my family and the family behind me enter the restaurant. The hostess looks at us and says, «How can I help you?» I seem a bit perplexed and respond, «Table for six.» The hostess snares, «You can have a table for six in half an hour,(Pauses) when we open!» I am confused by the hostesses’ abrupt rebuttal. I look at my family not knowing that they didn’t open until 5 and ask, «Oh. You open at 5?» The lady stares at Me as if I should know better and responds, «yes the doors open at 4:30 for the Saloon, the restaurant opens at 5!» Understanding her comment, we decide to leave, but the lady with her family comments to the hostess, «you realize your website states that you open at 4:30 right?» The hostess rudely repeats slowly, like she’s talking to children, «the SALOON opens at 4:30, the restaurant opens at 5:00…» Without offering a nice solution or apology for the confusion, we decide to leave. I feel that the hostess was so negative and short with the first guest in the restaurant, it would seem she hated her job. Anyone who hates their job is likely going to do unthinkable things to your food. I would not recommend this restaurant! I give it 2 stars only because of previous experiences where this place was 5 stars all the way!

DELICIOUSFOOD, ADORABLESERVICE! Everything about this place is fantastic. Buck Owens playing quietly in the background, Feed Co. pays attention to detail with their décor including their menus and placemats. Everything about it is fun and delicious! Even if you don’t know where Tumalo, OR is, you should go on an adventure and try the Best Steak House in Central Oregon!

Went here with my wife for a night out. My first time here. I had the ribeye steak with grilled onions and sautéed mushroom. Cooked just right, medium rare, very tender, very flavorful. For desert had the chocolate cake, very light, very good not overly rich. Definitely a come back to place.

This is a well established family steak house in a fun, ranch-like atmosphere. We have experienced consistently good service and food. I like the marinated skirt steak — yum! Side dishes — beans, onion rings, salad — are plentiful and included in the price of the main dish(imagine that!). Live music in the bar is a bonus. Great for a cowboy night out.

We had a party of 8. Our server was fantastic! The food and drinks were made to perfection. I love that you can split a plate and we each get to choose our own sides. I have come here many times and have yet to be disappointed. Pricey but well worth the money. The only criticism I have is the bathrooms are tiny and could really use an upgrade. Does not fit the amount of money we spend here for each meal.

Seems the reviews are all over the board. The only thing I can say negative is they don’t have a bike rack to lock our bikes on. We were greeted right away, friendly. Sat, ordered drinks, wine for the wife, Rusty Nail for me. Ordered the Onion Rings, drinks came. Both great. Onion rings delivered, hot, some of the better onion rings I have had. We split a dinner, 20 oz rid steak rare. Charged $ 7.00 for extra plate but included 2 sides for my wife. All vey good, the free beans were some of the best. All and all, great meal, good service, great value and food to take home. Would recommend, maybe not for big parties, but I understand. Try them, you will like them.

Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Had the 12 ounce ribeye steak. The steak was perfectly cooked all the way through. The service was excellent they kept checking to make sure the steak was done to my satisfaction & to make sure if I had enough iced tea. They have onion rings for $ 1 with the entrée, which I ordered. The server noticed that the onion rings weren’t up to the same quality that they normally are so he said that they won’t charge me for them. It just goes to show the quality of service when even a $ 1 item has to be a certain quality. So I would say that this is definitely a place that you must absolutely go to. I will be back!

Well, we just had one of the worst experiences we have had at a restaurant. We called ahead for a reservation of 11 and made sure they had baked potatoes left and they confirmed they had plenty. The first thing they said after seating us was that they were out of baked potatoes and there was nothing they could do. That was at 7:30pm, the waitress asked the manager to come chat with us and she said«I heard there was a problem» and then said«there is nothing I can do about it, maybe comp a dessert», so that didn’t help at all. Then we waited about 1.5 hours for our food(9:00pm — so plenty of time to cook baked potatoes at this point), when it came out every meal was wrong, all of the sides were wrong and for some reason everyone got rice pilaf and not one of us ordered it. To make matters worse it took about 10 minutes to figure out which meals were which as she had no idea who ordered what. After figuring out who was missing their correct sides she went back to get them and came out with MORE rice Pilaf, we were sure we were on camera at that point. We were the only ones left and it took forever to get the bill and then forever to pay the bill. We eventually started to get up and went to find the waitress. We left just after 10pm. They didn’t comp anything. Our guests were in from out of town and we were taking them to a very nice restaurant that would reflect Bend well as we have always loved going there in the past and we’re excited to take them. Let’s just say we never plan on going back and we had to apologize to our guests.

I have to make this average despite there being some positives… The service was exemplary, well done! My friend’s steak was done perfectly, medium rare, which is iffy lots of places. My big problem is that I ordered baby-back ribs, which I love. What arrived at my place was a nice pile of ribs. However: First, they were so overcooked they were a bit like leather. Second, they were NOT baby back ribs!!! They were pork spare ribs, a much inferior cut in my opinion… Really, you try and pass these off as baby-backs? Disappointing, I won’t be back, baby…

Just had dinner here and I’m writing this review right away so I dont forget. The food was amazing and we had excellent service. We had the 14 oz prime rib and the 8 oz flat iron steak with baby back ribs. The meat was cooked perfectly. Everything was seasoned well. You can taste the diff herbs on the prime rib. The steak had a nice crust and tasted amazing. Baby back ribs were juicy and delicious. None of the flavors were overwhelming and not greasy. The entrees are huge. You get a choice of two sides with all the entrees. It is enough food for two people to share. We both had enough leftovers for another meal. One thing to note is that the shrimp cocktail is with bay shrimps. See pics. Still pretty tasty. The price for the quality of food is excellent. We will be coming back for sure.

After a long day of hiking and biking, we needed a BIG meal and this definitely did us in. Steaks were amazing and cooked perfectly. The mixed green salad I got was subpar but at least it wasn’t all iceberg. The steak though! And the beans and the amount of melted blue cheese I got!!! We had our 6 month old with us in her car seat and they were totally understanding in us moving her from seat to seat until we found a good set up for our new little family. We didn’t have reservation but only waited ten minutes or so. I will probably make reservations next time just to be safe. We got there late on a Saturday(maybe an hour before closing). Live music was great– we could hear it from their saloon. I didn’t realize it was live until I heard clapping and talking– it was that good. Beer choices were meh for being so close to Bend craft brewing scene but they did have one IPA I could get on board with. Definitely give them a try if you LOVE steak and a traditional steakhouse with no frills or thrills and you don’t have to dress up or pay and arm and a leg!

Best cut of steak I’ve had in quite some time. Sautéed mushrooms and roasted garlic were fresh. Had a Deadwood drop cocktail to finish off this fantastic meal.

Been going here for ten years, but the last one ended it for me. We took visiting friends and were embarrassed by the changes. No appetizers were serves. I got my favorite shrimp scampi which had very little garlic and was not creamy. My husbands steak was grisly and tough. Our friends were polite but we knew it wasn’t good. New owners? Bad management changes? Whatever happened needs to change back to the Tumalo Feed I once knew.

Western food for people that want to eat at a place that was young back when the West was young. The old West is here in every rusty nail(that’s not a drink here, son) and piece of tack on the wall. Beef is what’s for dinner, if you have a lick of sense, but the sides keep up with the rest of the herd. Great seafood(or Sea Beef) as well. Don’t forget to top it all off with a Sarsaparilla Float too, partner. Your stomach will be happy all down the rest of the trail.

We eat out a lot. I don’t give this kind of review lightly because I know it can really affect a business. So believe me when I say: this place is awful. Seriously awful. I’m okay with a crummy meal if it cost less than $ 10. I can get over that. I can’t get over a $ 90 meal for three that was this bad. Their waitresses were sweet. The décor was actually really fun. Yeah, it’s ridiculous, and I REALLY wanted it to be good so I could bring people there with us sometime, but alas… My husband and I ordered the chicken marsala and a new york steak to split. For sides we had mac n cheese, cole slaw, shrimp cocktail, beans, and a baked potato. We ordered the sausage-stuffed jalapenos, the onion rings(which are no longer complimentary, they cost $ 1 a person), and a huckleberry lemonade. It will be easier to say what was good than what was bad. Onion rings were probably the best thing, no kidding. Baked potato was good, but that’s hard to do wrong. And yes, the steak was good. But like Michele said in her 2010 review, there are plenty of wonderful places to get a steak for the same price that will be much, much more worth your money.(And yes, the lemonade was delicious!) Mac n cheese: bland noodles in a watery cheese sauce. Chicken Marsala: pre-sliced chicken breasts(not breaded) in an overly-salted cream sauce, with sliced portabella mushrooms piled on top of a drab diner-esque plate. No marsala flavor to be found. Ranch beans smelled like b.o.(I realize it was probably the seasoning, but it just added insult to injury.) Shrimp cocktail was o.k. but … meh. Mini-shrimp served in a condiment bowl, propped up inside by celery bits with a glob of cocktail sauce served on top. The sausage stuffed jalapenos have a weird name on the menu that doesn’t allude to being sausage stuffed. They came out on a sizzling cast iron pan, and they were literally just sliced jalapenos stuffed with italian seasoned sausage. Even the coleslaw managed to be seriously boring. YOUHAVEONEJOB! You serve very basic steak house food, and you’ve been here for a long time! How can you not have the simplest side dishes perfected? While not a steak house, slick’s bbq in Bend has fantastic sides. Gooey, creamy mac n cheese, pineapple baked beans, garlic mashed potatoes, and tasty coleslaw. If you’re craving some beef and southern sides, go there instead, and save yourself a good $ 50.

To be honest with you the restaurant wasn’t what I was expecting… The cheesy«western» décor could use some serious updating although the restaurant itself was clean.(Which I appreciate…) We started out with a house salad and shrimp cocktail. It’s hard to mess up a shrimp cocktail so I’ll skip to the salad. I opted for the Huckleberry vinaigrette and unless you like VERY sweet stuff on your salad I would skip the vinaigrette and stick to a traditional dressing. For the main course we had the rib steak and the filet. Both were very well cooked and tender which kind of surprised me. The rib steak didn’t need any sauces on it which for my husband is saying something. My filet, while good, didn’t have that –make my eyes roll back in my head– flavor that I crave when eating a filet. Overall not a bad place but I think the Bend area has better restaurants to spend your money in.
