For slices of pizza when I’m at work, this is my first and only choice. I realize that tastes in pizza vary wildly, but for my money the pizza here is pretty good. Two slices of pepperoni plus tip runs about ten bucks. The big draw back is that it’s on Telegraph, and should you ere by showing up at the wrong time, you will encounter beggars. If you’re unfortunate enough, some may even follow you into the store; People’s Park, that great experiment in popular democracy from the bottom up is not too far away(Progress! Thanks, Berkeley!). There’s a time and place for charity, folks, but it ain’t when I’m buying lunch(or at an ATM, for that matter).

I stopped by not too long ago and had the pesto pizza. While I enjoyed that it was nice and hot, it was mostly bread. The bread was good, but there was just so much of it. It would’ve been better had there been more cheese.

Great value! Huge slice of pizza with tons of pepperoni for less than $ 4 and it came out piping hot. Was a little greasy, but nothing a few napkin dabs can’t fix.

My top favorite pizzas in Berkeley/Bay Area. The pizza is thick and soft my favorite. It tastes like no other pizzas I’ve had before. My favorite is the combo or is it vegi. Or tomatoe and pepperoni. I don’t recommend dine in the place isn’t nice to eat at but the pizza is awesome.

First off we do enjoy pizza here after the game. Served hot and the slices are HUGE. Customer service SUCKS! Really smile you have a job not outside begging for money.

Still A Fan My wife and I left the Cal game early on Saturday to go here(I shouldn’t have been so surprised that there was a line out the door). Some Grambling State fans had the same idea(a group of about 8 arrived shortly after us). I like Blondie’s too, but I frequented Fat Slice more often when I went to Cal. Although the pizza here was a bit better in the past, I’m still a fan. The cashiers aren’t really friendly(the same is true for the ones at Blondie’s), but they’re quick and on the ball. They don’t bullshit. They’re good at keeping the line moving. I love the vintage rock posters on the walls. I always check out the ones around me. There’s also some cool pizza wall art in the back. : The prices here have gone up markedly since last year(slices here used to be a little cheaper than the ones at Blondie’s, but I don’t know if that’s still the case). They were out of pesto pizza, and so a woman in front of us went with her second choice(she didn’t seem to mind). Some Prices: A slice with a 16 oz. energy drink(the sign shows a Rockstar drink) is $ 5.99. There’s a nice selection of drinks in general(ex: Mountain Dew; Grape Crush; Mug Root Beer; select Gatorade drinks). Boxes are $.25(they’re free if you spend $ 7.50 or more– I would ask for a receipt if you think you’re going to need a box). Ranch packets: 2 for $.50. Fresh slices are brought out all the time(if you have to wait, it’s not likely to be for more than 3 minutes). The group in front of us had to wait 20 minutes for a whole pizza(this wasn’t bad given how busy it was here). The seating capacity is about 35(the tables are in the back, and there are about 8 spots by the counter). The interior is old, and it always makes me think of the 80’s(I can picture Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-san eating here). I like, though, that there’s a decent amount of seating at all(at Blondie’s, you’ll probably have to stand while you eat). The tables are pretty close to each other(thankfully, my wife and I had a table to ourselves). Restrooms are in the back(I’m not really sure if there’s one or two). : Pepperoni slice(Special: $ 5.42 with tax): 8.5÷10. My slice was greasy, but the grease factor seems to have gone down here(I had some super greasy slices in the past). The crust used to feature some parsley, but it doesn’t now(I was disappointed). My slice could have had a bit more pepperoni. I still love the pizza crust here, but it used to be more garlicky. Despite everything, I truly enjoyed my slice. (As you can tell by the pictures, the slices are huge here.) : Cheese slice(Special: $ 5.24 with tax): 8⁄10. My wife received a very fresh slice. She especially liked the crust, and she was glad that she didn’t order a Veggie slice(if you’re interested, the slices feature like 8 toppings, including corn, spinach, and peas). Some rude people took over our table. My wife and I were annoyed at how antsy and impatient they were(we were rushed while clearing the table). I angrily told one of the guys to move(it took us a minute to exit because of the people who were in the way). While we were leaving, I happily gave some change to the homeless man out front(he was kind of a pest, but at least he made an effort– two other homeless men in the area were totally ignored because they were so quiet). My wife and I were both pleased with our pizza. I’m glad that I insisted we go here.

Fat Slice used to be a great slice of pizza. Now it’s like doughy greesy bread covered in tasteless cheese and cheap pepperoni. Slices are 4.50 too. I was so disappointed and a little grossed out. I’m so sad I used to eat here all the time and it used to be good.

I always get a peace of mind when I come back to the old stomping grounds for a «FATSLICE». Perhaps it’s the combination of Vinyl collecting(digging in the crates), then topping that off with a nice pesto slice, that really takes me right back to where the love of it all started. If your not familiar, or have some sort of tie in’s with BERZERKELY it may not be your cup of tea. I’ve personally taken friends and family here from out of town /state to see if they get it. Some do and some do not. Anyhow I love FATSLICE and will always be back as long as they are around.

Went today for the first time and this place is pretty cool. Got the daily special which was pesto + bell peppers + pepperoni and cheese. Really good and huge slices! I was so full I couldn’t eat the crust :(Got a pizza + soda for under $ 6 so pretty good. Bring cash! PSA: I just realized that I paid for ranch(50cents +tax) and never received it with my pizza. So sad. I guess I was so excited that I totally forgot and so did the cashier. Oh well :/

This place is gross but the pizza is good. A serious Berkeley institution. I feel like fat slice is almost Iconic as the Berkeley campanile. I’ve been going here since I was child in the pizza has never changed. The bathroom has always stayed just as disgusting and the tables are always greasy. I love it. Growing up I would eat here every Sunday after church with my friends. And if I had to weigh in between the Blondies/fat slice rivalry I would have to go with fat slice. It’s just better. I came here last night after the Tycho/Alt J concert I saw with my lil sis at the Greek. It was just as nostalgic as ever. I covered that fat slice with pounds of Parmesan cheese and peppers and it was so good. My mouth was on fire! I think I put too many peppers but it was totally worth it. Remember in college eating a whole pizza. I don’t think I could ever do that again. So many memories of this place and I’m excited to create more! Thanks fat slice for the memories and the heart stoppingly good pizza.

This is a great place to get a slice or full pie. I have been coming here ever since I was young and it still looks and feels the same. It’s not the most clean place if you choose to eat in the back area but I guess it’s all part of the experience of a small fast and fairly cheap pizzeria. We ordered a 18inch XL pepperoni this time and as always it’s the bomb !! The 18 inch is not the pizza you see them serving by the slice, that’s a 20 inch and not for sale except by the slice. But no worries because the 18 inch for around $ 18 is nice size and hardy. Make sure you get plenty of napkins because that wonderful grease will run down your arm. Mmmmmm

It’s not incredible, but it does the job if you’re craving for a fat slice of pizza. I got the combo and it came with all types of toppings(ham, salami, pepperoni, sausage, tomatoes, spinach, olives, bell peppers. yeahh) It was fresh, so nothing to really complain about. It’s certainly not the best pizza ever.

Maybe I remembered it being better as a kid… Maybe its just gone downhill. My buddy and I hit Telegraph before a concert last night and while shopping decided to get a slice at our old stand by ‘Fat Slice’. It was barely decent for the night of drinking we had planned, any real consumer would’ve taken it straight back. I received an undercooked doughy slice with greasy pepperoni on it for the low price of $ 4.85, drink not included. I say avoid! Don’t make the mistake I did!

This Place is definitely in my top 3 for favorite pizza places on Telegraph. I love that they have been a berkeley staple since 1986, always using the freshest ingredients and the best homemade sourdough. Sometimes I stop by for a single slice(You can buy the slice a la carte or as part of a combo; with rotating specials daily) on my lunch break, other times I bring my family here for dinner(Slices are huge, so one large pizza feeds everyone). Seating here is usually available(Can’t really remember the last time I ate at the stand up counter; just might have to for old times sake). Also, the staff is always friendly(To me at least), so come check it out for yourself, you won’t regret it.

This review is for a few years back, before I was active on Unilocal. Fat Slice is, incredibly, one of the best slices of pizza I’ve ever had. And I want everyone reading this to know I am giving this establishment 5 stars DESPITE the fact that the dining area is arguably the most disgusting nook I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. The bathroom is filthy, and the scent sometimes wafts into the eating area. There are flies by the boatload. The walls and floors are sticky and beat to heck. And with all that going on, the type of combination that would normally send me scurrying for a bottle of Purell, this pizza is perfect. If I encounter better pizza anywhere, ever, I will change my review of Fat Slice, but it is just such a divine gastric mess, I can’t stop myself.

It’s what i would call, after-pub grub. I think the pizza fills the void, nothing special, but the service a OK. Conveniently located off campus… a big plus.
