Horrible customer service from a man named Yudi who also happens to be the manager. So Yudi decides to pick his nose and right after start handling food with out washing his hands Disgusting! I call him out on it and he starts yelling and says if you don’t like it get out. don’t understand how he became manager with the lack of hygiene and customer service this man posses. One thing for sure my family nor friends will ever eat or order anything from this Unsanitary location. Wash your hands Yudi

Charged me a $ 25 minimum when it’s usually 15 because I’m out of the Berkeley district. I’m only 1.7 miles away from them. right on the edge of Oakland and Berkeley. Crappy customer service. Needs new management.

I like Papa Johns, but really don’t like this particular franchise. I’ve ordered from them a handful of times, and they always seem to leave something out or mess up my order. They’re not the friendliest folks, and if you park in the lot(owned by the city of Berkeley), they’re likely to park behind you and block you from leaving. In fact, this happened tonight while we were at Starbucks nextdoor, and they weren’t even friendly about moving the car so we could leave. In general, I haven’t found the dining area to be very clean, and overall I’m just not impressed with this location.

Took well over an hour to receive delivery order. Pizza was cold. Will never order from here again.

Horrible. It has been 2.5 hours waiting for a pizza and I am still waiting. Stay away from this place. I wish I could give 0 star.

I have always been a loyal customer to papa johns, especially this papa johns. But today, I was blown away with the service. I ordered my pizza online and paid with credit card and opted for delivery to my apartment. This usually takes no more than 40 minutes in peak hours. But, after an hour and 15 minutes I am still waiting for my pizza. I called and was put on hold twice for 10 minutes. When an employee, Gabriel, finally answered me, he was completely useless. I asked him where my pizza was, and he said he didn’t know. He didn’t know which driver had the pizza, and he didn’t know what would to do if my pizza is cold. Low and behold, when my pizza finally arrived, it was cold(big surprise) and now I have to call the manager tomorrow to get a refund. These people seriously just take your money and then put you on the back burner. I’ve already let it be that they don’t wear gloves when making the food even though it’s a state health sanitary law for all food workers to wear gloves, but the manager and the national corporation will be definitely hearing about this. I didn’t pay for cold pizza that would take more than an hour to be delivered(especially when I live 5 minutes away by car from the store) and to be put on hold and confronted by a rude, useless employee.

Complete and utter disappointment. The pizza here is not worth the cardboard box it’s served in. We ordered a BUFFALO chicken ranch pizza, except buffalo sauce was nowhere to be found. Maybe they thought skimping out on our pizza would somehow save their dying business. In addition, the pizza itself was bland, tasteless, and dry; I almost wish I ate the paper plates we got instead. Lastly, we thought we could at least enjoy the family-sized chocolate chip cookie we ordered, but they somehow managed to ruin that too. The cookie was over-baked, and was probably hard enough to knock someone out. In summary, come here if you want delectable cardboard and bricks for dinner.

I’ve had mixed feelings about this place. In the day time(11am — 4pm or so), they’ve gotten my order wrong twice. During these hours, service is sluggish, sometimes unsanitary, and frustrating. I was almost going to give 1 star, but then ironically, it’s at night that the service tends to get a lot better. I’m talking 8pm — 1am shifts, which surprises me because I would imagine those people are tired. Maybe they’re fresh on the shift. One Indian guy in particular was always extremely nice. Those guys, working late shift and still managing to be nice and get the orders right, deserve a solid 4 stars while the day workers honestly should get 1 – 1.5 stars. I’m gonna round up the average, because I’ve had a lot of good experience with the latter.

This location likes to send people out to put flyers on people’s doorknobs but the problem is there is a big fence surrounding my property and somehow the people keep breaking in my fence and putting the flyers on my door. When I called to complain to the manager he gave me attitude. It still keeps happening even after I complain. STOPTRESPASSINGONMYPROPERTYPAPAJOHNS!!!

Usually i order pizza from large chains and its the usual pizza guy rings the door drops it up and leaves. But somehow last time felt different– the guy i guess his name was bikram– super nice guy got there on time asked me if i needed plates, sauces etc. I wentby the shop last night to grab a slice and the service was super friendly! Hence the five stars– the food is the same in chains but this one has stepped up the service

This place does still need some work. But I was happy to get a phone call from Papa johns about my recent experience. They offered me a free large pizza in return and hope to bring better service. All locations need somewhere to start. At least they are making the right steps moving forward.

So we ordered a pepperoni pizza and I swear we wached an entire episode of family feud and everyone in line got served…5 to go orders were picked up and we still have not gotten our pizza. You would have thought we ordered like a specialty pizza or something. …but just a pepperoni pizza… next time we will just get the pre-made slices.

What’s another 1 or 2 star going to do, right? We ordered a large pizza at 10 pm and when we didn’t receive a phone call by 10:50 pm, we went out to the curb to wait. We ended up calling and was put on hold for 15 minutes and by the time we spoke with very unapologetic employees, they said they came around, didn’t see us, and proceeded to leave. 11:15 pm and he says they can redeliver but the pizza is now cold. I asked for a refund after an hour and half of this and he said«Yes, miss. Good night.» with no apology or anything. A complete waste of my hour and half and came back empty-handed to a group of hungry college students. MUCH better off ordering from Domino’s or anywhere else with decent customer service.

If you can tolerate a poor costumer service and out of bound mix ups with stuff then this isn’t the place for you. The food is ok and it’s good for a desperate calling of hunger and that’s it. If you are super big on not having to deal with any of the above then go ahead and just get the food and walk out. Just recently we had to wait 10 mins for 2 workers in the store to free up from the phone and acknowledge the line. It was outrageous and super daft of the workers but oh well I was just thinking about the food

They put a flyer on our mailbox for their pizza, and we decided to place an order. We call them to get a pizza to celebrate something. The person on the phone asked for our address three times, then said«Oh, we don’t deliver that far away.» I looked it up on mapquest. They are 1.38 miles away from us, and literally one turn. I think the person on the phone just didn’t want to deal with putting someone new into their system. With that level of customer service, they won’t be having that issue with us.

I wish these guys can look and confirm that the order is right. At the very least, confirm the extra items that are paid for are being sent out for delivery. I used to live back east and love the way this pizza is served. But to not get the extra things(i.e. extra garlic sauce and peppercinis) that I ordered through the moblie app. Is not the experience that I am looking for. This is not the first time, and I took it upon myself to call after the online order was made to make sure it was all right. I was very quickly assured that it was, but the man did not confirm what the order was and the end result… Two stars just because the brand name. Would have been one star because of no one owning up to the mistake.(Person answering the phone or the delivery driver) I want these guys to make it right. That is what I am paying for.

Berkeley is a haven for pizza restaurants, and there are so ridiculously many pizza shops as well as restaurants that offer pizza as a dining option. With that being said, pizza chains hoping to compete really have to step up their game, and unfortunately Papa John’s is not one of those places. We had a gift card for this place, or else I don’t think I would’ve ever ventured here. Now that I’ve tried it, I don’t think I’ll ever be back. It’s located in a prime spot on Shattuck, and I appreciate the easily accessible and spacious interior with wooden chairs and flat-screens, but that’s basically where the attraction ends. Service was mediocre bordering on impatient, and there are no napkins, condiments, or utensils set out anywhere. When we asked for napkins, we received two measly napkins. I don’t know about you, but I generally use more than one napkin when eating something that’s meant to be eaten with hands. Maybe I’m just a messy eater. Large The Works, thin crust: ( ) As you can see, there are barely any toppings on this pizza, and the bit that is is only scattered towards the middle. The crust was slightly undercooked so the very middle still had a raw dough taste, and the tomato sauce on top was watered down and very obviously not fresh. The cheese and toppings slid off the top every single time I picked up a new piece, and the toppings themselves were so tasteless it really didn’t make a difference if they were there at all. There was one garlic sauce given, and that tasted so artificially gross I couldn’t even swallow the piece I dipped into the sauce. Thank goodness Sherlock Holmes was playing on one of the flat-screens to distract me, or else I probably wouldn’t have been able to stomach the food here. Prices aren’t cheap either, and I’d much rather toss in another dollar or two and grab pizza at Sliver down the street.
