I was prepared to roll my eyes upon entering this place, thinking it was going to be another chain wings place. And while that’s somewhat true, I was pleased with the selection and the flavor. Not to mention, they had cheap beer($ 3). We came to watch a playoff game, and had a good ol’ time eating our wings and working on our beers. Walkable from where we live, we’ll definitely be coming back when the call for wings is strong. The good: good wings and the wait staff leaves you alone. The bad: I’ve had better wings, but that’s to be expected.

I really don’t know how I feel about this place :/it’s good, but I feel like I’ve had better, their coleslaw was bad(perhaps that’s why I didn’t know how to feel) :/I gave them 3 stars because their wings are still good, and the service is also good, so I like it. Would I go back? Yes. Would I go back in a month, probably not.

I wish I could give this place no stars. My friend and I ordered cheesesteaks to go and they got both of our orders wrong. They also failed to ask my friend what size she wanted so they just gave her a 10″. The sandwich was soggy, salty and just an overall unpleasant experience. The only good part about the meal was the curly fries. a REALLYREALLY bad sandwich. Do not get a cheesesteak from here.

I really love this place, I’m not much of a chicken person, but my husband suggested we try it. I tried two different flavors, Jalapeño and Lime wings they are to die for but it does not stop there, they also have a happy hour on Saturday and Sundays so you can get $ 2 cheese fries and $ 2 onion rings. I come here almost every Saturday or Sunday and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely suggests Red Buffalo for Wings. Bön Appetit!

Buffalo wings are one of my favorite foods, and this place is only a block away from where I live. The service is friendly, and I get my food in a reasonable amount of time after ordering. They have several good beers on tap. The side dishes are good(really nice fries; celery and carrot sticks with the combo). The wing sauces are tasty(spicy creamy buffalo is my favorite). However, as much as I want to, I can’t give this place five stars because the wings are simply not done right. The wings are just too dry. Also, after cooking the wings, they don’t evenly coat the wings in the sauce. It’s not difficult to toss the wings in the sauce until they are thoroughly coated. However, they never seem to do it. I just get mostly dry wings sitting in a pool of sauce. Que lastima. I continue to go to this place because of its proximity to my apartment, and because I love wings. It’s kind of annoying though that the chicken is the weak spot for this restaurant.

Come here for: 1) Long ass happy hours, so pints are fairly cheap compared to other beer-serving places 2) TVs Food is eh. No specials on wings during happy hours. Onion rings were kinda good, but they only give you about 4… Chairs are weird and get to be uncomfortable. Need to watch out for people smoking outside because the smoke blows right into the joint. People servicing were nice though.

All i gots to say is never settle for less than what you’re craving. In this case, it was buffalo wild wings, and this place does not concur. We ordered 10 wings, half jamaican jerk(dry seasoning) and honey bbq(with sauce on the side). And honestly, we could not tell the difference between the two without any sauces. The chicken wings were dry and small, and we were definitely not satisfied. We also ordered a caesar salad that was actually, really good… but i don’t know any place that has a really bad caesar salad anywhere. Also ordered some regular fries(average), and a 10″ philly cheesesteak that my bf said was mediocre and it just tasted like cooked food without any taste. The only brightside about this place is the happy hour everyday from 3pm until i forgot when, and allday on the weekends, which consists of 2 $ pints of rolling rock, and 3 $ pints of shock top or ipa. I’d probably just come back for the beer and to watch a sports game since they do convieniently have a tv.

I knew it was something about this place. I said I was never coming here again, but I was tricked. For 3 weeks I thought this location in Berkeley was Buffalo Wild Wings because I’ve never been there but it isn’t! It’s the same nasty Red Buffalo like the one in Oakland on Market. Ewwww. I’ve come here 3 times. The first was actually good fresh fries, fresh chicken(3 pm). The 2nd time was okay(6pm). This time will be my last(9pm). They served old chicken that tasted funny and these weird chicken wing balls that should be thrown away! Just like the Oakland spot. I am so DISAPPOINTED and grossed out! Just take a look at my picture. They should really be embarrassed for giving someone a 10 piece order of chicken wings and 3 pieces are gross wing balls. How hard is it to give a customer an order of 10 chicken wings? I feel like slapping everybody involved!

Yowza Jerk and House wings and onion rings: good deal and hot off the grill. And here I was going to eat celery and salads, which they do have, but the onion rings and wings were calling my name. Helpful staff and yummy food to eat while watching the NCAA… Hope to try more soon!

Red Buffalo, as the only wings establishment in Berkeley, isn’t as great as Buffalo Wild Wings or WingStop, but still worth a visit if you are craving wings. I got the 10 piece combo with garlic parmesan cheese and hickory smoked bbq. Both flavors were good, but I thought the sauce on the bbq was a little too salty. The garlic parmesan had just the right amount of garlic. The seasoned fries were solid. I really thought the ranch wasn’t that great. It didn’t have the right taste– tasted old perhaps? I understand that the wings may take longer if they are cooked to order, but seriously, it didn’t taste that fresh at all. It tasted like it was pre-cooked. I figure it must have to do with the way they freeze the wings. Bill Tip: Great place to watch any sporting event, but not too much space for seating.

Just a few months ago while grabbing some fast food at a Wingstop, I was wondering when Berkeley would get their very own spot to get wings on the go. Berkeley has numerous dives/bars open after 5pm ready to serve happy hour wings. But there’s nothing like wings at 11am. Enter: Red Buffalo on Shattuck Ave! Came in for an early lunch(2−9−13) before heading to a matinée. Ordered the 10 wing combo that includes fries and we were given the option of having 5 wings one flavor and the other 5 another; we got spicy and honey mustard. It was still early about noon, and the traffic was kind of light. They offer happy hour beer specials starting at 11am on Saturday and Sunday, so we got a $ 3 pint of their Fire Rock IPA. Our wait for food was about ten minutes, and they called a number for pick up at the counter. TV is available too. The wings are wonderful. I preferred the original spicy wings of the two we had. Unfortunately, I was a bit surprised at the size of the wings; I thought they were small. That being said, I love the location, love that I can get wings at 11am, and love 3 dollar pints for happy hour. **opens daily at 11AM (+) draft beer(6 beers on tap including Fire Rock-Kona) (+) wings+beer+TV (+) happy hour $ 3 pints(starts at 11:30am on Sat/Sun)

The wings here are pretty darn good! I have to say that Red Buffalo is very similar to WingStop, but Red Buffalo seems to have more of a variety of flavor.(more unique flavors as well) I really like their parmesan wings. I like their fries and potato chips as well.

Came here with a group of friends, and we ordered the 50-piece combo, which came with wings, fries, veggies, and soda for $ 40 + tax, which was a pretty good price IMO. We tried the original buffalo, bacon, and garlic parmesan flavors. I enjoyed the bacon and garlic parmesan, although they were pretty salty and maybe even over-seasoned. But the original buffalo was just really saucy and not that flavorful. Another peculiarity was the fact that some of the wings were TINY! They were literally half the size of a regular wing, with more bone than meat. I don’t know if it was because we ordered the 50-piece, but I thought it was kind of ridiculous that they would serve us such tiny wings. The fries were pretty good though! On the plus side the service was friendly, and they even gave us a free order of homemade potato chips!

There aren’t many good wing places in downtown Berkeley. That’s why it’s disappointing that Red Buffalo isn’t better. Their prices are okay, but the slooooooow service makes it an unreasonable lunch option. And the food is mediocre at best. I’ve tried 4 wing options and had to hold my nose while eating three of them. Stick with the salt & pepper wing if you must eat here. I don’t give really low ratings often, and I even gave them 2 chances to prove themselves… with no luck.

Their original hot is HOT, which is weird for me to say because I LOVE spicy. They’re also pretty dry which was a bummer. Honey mustard was moist but not as delicious as expected. Service was exceptional… but I wouldnt pay ~$ 9 for 10 mediocre wings…

I actually thought this place was good! I came here for dinner today with my gf and we had a good time. I ordered the 20 piece wing; Bourbon glaze and creamy buffalo sauce with a side of ranch. My gf had the 10 piece combo with zesty chili lime and fries. Now the wings were meaty, they weren’t completely soaked in sauce so it still retained its crispy shell. The sauces were on point! Very flavorful! It’s exactly the right amount and had the right taste to it! Now one of the problems I have is that the meat was still a bit bloody inside. I mean it wasn’t crazy but it kinda creeped me out lol. The seating here is way too small and because of the limited space, the room temp was too f’n hot. The stool seats were tiny, my ass can barely fit and I wasn’t comfortable. The flat TVs were cool… my niners won against the Seahawks! Anyway, I like the wings here… probably wouldn’t get anything else though. Oh and yeah the service is horrible. It’s like they’re still learning, which is cool but the fact that the cashier ignored me and just went on emptying coins in her register was rude. She asked me if I was ready and then she just brushed me off for a few mins while dropping pennies. Laziness is what it is.

Red Buffalo has some new items on the menu here(sandwiches). i just went for the basics and was disappointed eats: 10 piece wing combo(10) –seasoned fries not crispy, innards mushy, fail –soda ok, got refills. lemonade too sweet, tasted nasty. –veggie sticks only decent thing edible –cumin chile and green jalepeno flavored wings flavors very faint. wings deep fried. meat dry, bland, and tasteless saw associates shaking wings in bowl to mix in flavors.(dusting) wings fail, 2 stars dusts: –think wings«cooked» twice, thus tasteless –wings cooked to order, 15 – 20 minutes. –no interest in trying other items. –service good, wait time not good.

Decided to order out tonight and try this place. We got the bacon garlic pepper wings, garlic salt and pepper wings and the garlic parmesan cheese bread. The garlic salt wings were very good, the bacon wings were good. The bread was okay. The dipping sauces were pretty good. It seemed like the employees of this place were still learning, so I won’t rate service now.
