Nice furniture and home accents. Careful coming in here if you’re black. The old white lady working here(Beth) will quietly follow you around the whole time as if she’s worried you’re going to steal all the silver.

Loved some pieces and was excited to start shopping. Was out and out ignored. Made eye contact with three sales people, one actually walked passed me and did not utter a single greeting! Pity. They lost a nearly six-figure sale today. Customer service should be the standard, not a random experience doled out!

Wish I could give this store negative stars. Absolutely horrible. Sold us a sofa and chair for thousands of dollaes and within a month the color faded in the chair. The store refused to do anything about it and they, and the crappy manufacturer(lee), denied there was anything wrong. We tried for months to get help from them and it was a waste of time. Will NEVER step foot in this store again!

This place has some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. After reading the other reviews, I realize I am not alone. I ordered custom living room furniture. It took months to deliver. It arrived and a few things were incorrect and one piece slightly damaged. I was told to call their service guy. For months I tried to chase him down. After 6 months, I sent my husband into the store. No one in there could even help him. He left a note and a few days later someone finally followed up. They finally sent the service guy. He decided he couldn’t correct and repair at our house and would need to take the furniture for four days. Two weeks later he finally returned my furniture. I didn’t even bother to follow up with the store. I knew they wouldn’t do anything about it. They carry the same brands as other furniture stores in the area and run the same sales. Save yourself the hassle and go someplace else!

I bought a sofa from Urban Country that was delivered in January. We LOVE it. It is literally the most comfortable sofa ever. Everybody that sits in it comments on how wonderful it feels. After a few months the fabric started to «pill» and when I told them they had the manufacturer send me all new covers. When it happened again, they told the manufacturer that they had to build me a whole new sofa. Yesterday I went in to pick out a new fabric that will not have this issue. They have been so wonderful and gracious through this process and I have really appreciated the support. I love their sales staff. I really trust that they are giving me great advise. I will be buying more furniture from Urban Country when I am in the market for something. WONDERFUL store with a big heart.(they are generous and philanthropic towards organizations that serve veterans and brain disease research).

Urban Country has consistently been an outstanding store for our entire family. We have ordered for our home in New York, as well as for our vacation home. After our recommendation, both of our daughters have also ordered and received exactly what they wanted, whether it was decorative items or a large piece of furniture. But going through items online is not the way to be a customer of Urban Country. You MUST go into the store! It has a wonderfuland extensive collection of one-of-a-kind pieces… chairs, tables, mirrors, lamps, pictures… it is so much fun looking around for that one item that catches your eye and you say to yourself«I’ve got to have that!» We have always been well served by Urban Country’s thoughtful, knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Terrible customer service. Don’t do it! They have some nice, unique items, if not overly expensive. However, watch out if there are manufacturer flaws in anything you order. You have to follow up, and follow up, and follow up to get anyone to respond to you, and once they do they are less than helpful. My issue was never resolved, and I finally gave up — perhaps that’s their strategy. Customer service is really, truly awful. As much as I like the furniture they sell, I will never buy from here again because it is just too much of a hassle.

Custom furniture took 6 months(outrageous) to deliver only to be incorrect spec.s. No follow up whatsoever from sales person or manager/owner Sacha. Have had to CHASE this for the last 3 months of waiting. So disappointed in quality and almost complete lack of customer service. Here is a PARTIAL list of the excuses I received for why I didn’t have my furniture after 6 months: closed for inventory; I’ll check tomorrow; didn’t have time to call manufacturer, will do next week; didn’t get an explanation, I don’t know; maybe a fabric issue; trucking company only comes once a week; my email got hacked; I didn’t have your email address; I was sick and couldn’t check on it; bad weather; manufacturer might be at a home show; weather slowed down trucks; still in transit. I am surprised I wasn’t told the dog ate it, too. I watched a house across the street from me built in less time than it has taken to receive a kitchen table from this store. Shop somewhere else. Plenty of options in downtown Bethesda.

If you want to feel judged and a bit shunned by people who don’t know anything about you then step inside Urban Country! My husband and I were the only customers inside the empty store on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We have two wing backed armchairs that have been in my husband’s family for several decades I’ve taken on as a reupholstery project. I had a saleswoman ask me if I needed help when I was exploring a forest of fabric swatches and when I described the project to her adding that I had not attempted this type of project before(i.e., help please!) she then said«well let me know and we can help you» before ducking away into another part of the shop. I headed out of the fabric forest and was the first to greet two saleswomen who straight up told me to go to an upholstery shop and said(quote) «our fabric is very expensive». They didn’t move from their perches to show me what they did have or offer to show us any of their chairs to buy instead of taking on this project. maybe they’re paid salary and not working on commission, maybe they thought they were doing us a solid by not wooing us with their pricey fabric or «shabby chic» décor, but instead they just turned us off of even entertaining the idea of blowing money on their products or services.

This is a store I want to love because it carries fun items and is a local business. Unfortunately, their staff is downright snooty, and this is a big turn-off. They need to gain a better appreciation for their potential customer base, and until they do, they will continue to offend potential buyers, like me, who walked right out after not being addressed, recognized or helped.

Found this store for the first time today on a visit from baltimore to Bethesda. What an awesome store. They had a jewelry trunk show that was lovely, gorgeous throw pillows, inviting furniture, mackenzie childs, dash and Albert and more. Very cool and look forward to going again the next time that I am down here!

We ordered some living room furniture from UC only after being promised it would be delivered before our holiday party. The promised date came and went with no delivery. We called to see what happened and were told it would be another month. We then tried to cancel the order … no they had our money and weren’t going to return it. They offered a discount equal to the delivery fee. The furniture was overpriced to begin with. Now we have an empty living room for our holiday open house, Thank You Urban Country.

I was going to give them 4 stars because some of their prices are kind of high. With that being said everything they have is amazing. True quality and craftsmanship and while the store is overloaded with items it still gives you that at home feel. They also have a dog(Jackson) who comes /goes with the owners daughter. He’s a blast to play with and all the kids in Bethesda love him and his owner is super friendly and always has time to stop and talk to a friendly face. Even if you have to save up to shop there you won’t regret anything you purchase there. I know I haven’t.

I love this store. Yes, there’s some great, very high-end(be wary) furniture and pieces, btu the way they’re all put together it pretty unique for the DC area. I’m a big furniture buyer and lover, btu the aesthetic of urban country is what keeps me coming back. they sell other things like candles and jewelry, btu the real stand-outs are the collections that are hard to find elsewhere.

Very Meh. We bought a sofa here, one of those pieces of furniture that cost more than my first three cars — combined. I hope it lasts a lot longer than any of those cars. The sofa is a great sofa, and we got it at a great price — but: — it took them about 5 months to get it to us — when we got it it was wrong — we had paid extra for a certain type of stuffing and they got that wrong — the cushions we ordered did not come on time and had to be re-ordered Bascially they screwed up our order and we did not feel any love from them and this was a bit disappointing given the amount of dinero we were spending with them.
