I love Brady’s! Great service, great ‘neighborhood’ feel, solid beverage choices, solid pub-grub/burger type food with a splash of foodie fun stuff. Hello, Key Lime Pie, I’m nodding in your direction! And the Ruben egg rolls deserve mention. Love the salad choices, limited entrée and sandwich choices, but my all time favorite is the grilled cheese on sourdough. Add avocado and tomato and you, my friend, are in HEAVEN! I would eat this sandwich every week if I could! Very down to earth, friendly place. Even when I call to place a take out order, even when they are busy, I’ve always experienced the friendliest of folks here!

I’ve been going to Brady’s for years. Have always loved the neighborhood atmosphere and good food and drinks. But now they have something I’ve been looking for for 20 years. Back when downtown Jackson Mississippi was a bustling place I had the best bread pudding I could ever imagine. And like I said I’ve tried and tried to find one to compare. The manager, Jennifer, at Brady’s makes a bread pudding that’s second to none! With a scoop of vanilla ice cream and vanilla caramel sauce it’s heaven on earth. Just to be sure I had it a second time and it was even better than the first! Come and sit on their patio and listen to good music and eat great food. Finish with a homemade bread pudding. You’ll be happy you did!

Meh — great service despite them giving away our table. Clam chowder was good but didn’t live up to our expectations. Salads were ok and our son didn’t like the grilled chicken breast sandwich. Our daughter had the steak sandwich which she enjoyed. Overall pricey for the quality of food. We come here once a year after our daughters dance recital down the road and now I know why we only come once a year.

I’ve been here quite a few times now and overall it’s okay. There are some highlights for me food-wise, including the short rib and brisket burger and the deep fried rueben egg roll. The décor is pretty dated, and the tables have that decade long glaze that comes from a lack of a good deep clean. You know the kind, where some cleaning spray has become an unholy union with the dust and dirt and has firmly implanted itself into the tables and chairs. Dark, kind of dingy, and there are green lights up all the time. But, I’m not terribly hard to please décor-wise and not basing my 3 stars on it if the food is good(and it generally is good here). What I’m basing the 3 stars on is my sense of regret whenever I see my bill. It seems like each time I’ve gone there with my wife and had dinner, I end up leaving after paying a $ 70 – 80 tab. This is with 2 glasses of wine and(maybe) a beer for me, and two entrees and two appetizers. So that’s one star down. The next is an experience I had back in February of this year. We went out on a Monday night(2⁄23) because that’s the only day we could get my mother-in-law to watch our kids. This was the day before my wife’s birthday(2⁄24), and even though we’d been there a number of times before, they absolutely refused any kind of free dessert for her birthday because it wasn’t exactly the day of. Now we’re not regulars, but I’ve spent a guesstimate of $ 500 there between 5 sit down dinners and carry out orders. A little ice cream and a piece of cake would have gone a long way to make me feel better about their high prices, but in this case their refusal to even do that made me feel the opposite about them. Actually, the more I think about it more it pisses me off. So that’s a 2 star. Next time I’ll drive another tenth of a mile and get Taco Bell instead, and if the wife suggests it I’ll send her this link.

My top pick for bars in the area. Older crowd, never any ruckus, good service. Very comfortable bar with great drink specials and an even better menu. One of the few places you can find walleye in the area. It gets very busy on weekend nights.

Been a few times, not bad but not great. The prices are kind of high for what you get. The menu is kind of simple not a ton of choices, most of the usual stuff nothing too exciting. I went for the burger and it was ok. There’s nothing to get to excited about at this place. I did get a few smithwicks that were on special and for me that was what I enjoyed the most.

Went here for lunch today with a dear friend. Although I’ve been here before, I’ve yet to review this nice neighborhood tavern. On our visit today we were promptly seated and greeted by our wonderful waitress Sheila. She informed us that all burgers were a dollar less because beef prices had dropped, ironic, as many reviews state how pricy this place is. I had the patty melt with fries and my friend had the soup in a bread bowl. My patty melt was outstanding!!! Perfectly cooked with nice crispy bread. Yummy!!! As for my friend’s soup, he loved his as well. Got the bill and hit the road in no time at all. If I was a person on a limited time lunch, this would be the place to go. I was in no rush, but it’s nice to know there is a place to go for great food that is quickly served.

Brady’s is a good, reliable local restaurant and bar. I can’t count the number of times over the past 20-ish years my parents and I have come here for a casual last-minute dinner. My usual order involves chili, either their regular variety or chicken, and a sandwich or salad. Food isn’t gourmet, but it is tasty for the most part. My family’s favorites are the turkey Reuben, the famous one, and the Maurice salad. The fried pickles are spears, not chips, which is a bit different than the normal fried pickle order at restaurants. The cookies and ice cream dessert is okay, not awesome, but will satisfy a dessert craving. Given I’m not a drinker, I can’t give any personal recommendations for alcoholic beverages, but I do know that they come to the table quite strong. I greatly enjoy Quizzo on Saturday evenings. Getting a table requires coming a bit early, maybe around 8:30 or so, but I think it’s worth the effort. I do have a couple of issues with Brady’s, though. The food is quite expensive. Full-size salads and burgers cost more than $ 10, more than you would expect for both this kind of place and the quality of food, which as I mentioned earlier is tasty but certainly not gourmet. Additionally, the service is sometimes pretty slow or you have to deal with cranky wait staff. Overall, though, I’ll still come back.

1st time going back to Brady’s since I was in High School(2007). The Good: — Service was excellent, went for MNF, pretty crowded but the server was on top of her game and made the experience very enjoyable. — Decent beer specials for the football game. The Bad — The food was simply average. Got an order of wings that were clearly frozen, thrown in the fryer and covered with a simple Franks Red Hot Sauce. Also got a cheeseburger which previously was one of my favorite burgers in town. That is no longer the case, while the patty was cooked properly, again it appeared to be a simple frozen patty thrown on the grill with little seasoning. I would expect frozen products if I was paying diner prices but that is not the case. The wings were $ 9.29 for 8 below average wings and the burger was north of $ 10. I am sad to say that Brady’s is no longer a place that I will attend on the rare occasion that I travel back to my hometown.

Prices up, quality down. Disappointed. Bagged clam chowder you can stand a spoon up in and a turkey ruben that has no resemblance whatsoever to a ruben sandwich. Kaiser roll? For a ruben? We won’t be revisiting this place we once enjoyed.

I’m giving it three because the service was good. Wait staff was knowledgable and food came out in a timely matter. However, $ 20 for a chicken sandwich, SIDE of fries and a beer? Get out. Even if the food was exceptional(which it is not) that would be a premium price. I’d like to also point out that the up charge for a side of fries instead of chips yielded about 8 fries. Most of us left feeling we needed more food, and somewhat cheated. Don’t think my work crew and I will be returning anytime soon.

Stopped in for a quick drink between a wedding and reception. Had to ask to change the TV’s to the local game. Limited draft selection, but the accommodated our large group in the back room.

I want to love this place in the worst way but I just dont. I live right around the corner but it is expensive for what it is. The food is good but not spectacular and I feel like the prices demand spectacular. The burgers are super solid and the Garbage Salad is something that is hard to argue with but, again, it just comes down to value for me. Solid neighborhood bar just could/should be better.

Slow service, overpriced for the quality/quantity of the food, and just all-around lackluster. This is one of those neighborhood favorites that you go to because you’ve always gone there, but you’re not entirely sure why. We are so lucky to live in an area with an amazing offering of culinary delights. Why go to a sub-par pub? Life is too short to eat boring food.

Immediately after my post I received an apologetic email from their manager, who asked me to contact her directly. Very impressed with the responsiveness. I think we will give it another shot. 6⁄21 Update! I completely take back my bad review. We sat at the bar, service was phenomenal, and the food was great. We will be regulars!

First time here and super impressed. I thought it would be totally different inside. Not bad but just different. It was really nice inside and had a old irish pub feeling — as it should! Service was great, beer was big n cold, and prices were decent! I live really close so this will be a good go to place for some burgers and beer. They always send coupons in the mail but of course I forgot mine! Til next time, Brady’s Tavern!

I’ve been visiting Brady’s more frequently of rate, and my previous assessment stands. If anything, I am more inclined to bump them up to four stars. They’ve recently added a few new items to their menu, and so far all of the fresh offerings have been a hit for me. Items of note include a «Dagwood» deli sandwich inspired by the newspaper funny strip«Blondie,» a ground chicken burger that is surprisingly juicy and flavorful, and an amped-up version of their grilled cheese appropriately dubbed«Grilled Cheese Deluxe.» That last one may sound underwhelming, but I encourage you to think again. You can load it up with all kinds of add-ons like avocado, grilled onion, tomato, bacon, and even ham/turkey/pastrami/bleu cheese if you like.
