IHOP

This location is among the best I have seen for this chain. The service has always been stellar… the hostesses are polite and efficient. We coincidentally get the same server almost every time and he remembers our favorites! The food is good… not amazing, but consistently enjoyable. They are very wiling to customize orders and I don’t think we have ever been told they were out of anything or that they couldn’t do some special order. Come to think of it, I started this review off with 4 stars because, well, it’s IHOP and it just seems weird to give a chain like that 5. The thin is, I just can’t think of a reason NOT to give them 5! I prefer going here to any of the «boutique» breakfast places in town, so I guess I had a change of heart…:)

No complaints here, well except I wish I could get pumpkin pancakes year round (sigh). Been here many times for breakfast. Service is fast. Even when they have no tables, the wait has been short. They do their best to clear tables fast so they can serve more people.
I usually get the 2 X 2×2, which is eggs bacon pancakes. It’s a lot of food and very good. I have also had the bananas and cream waffle — delicious. I really like the hash browns here too. They cook them so they are nice and crispy on the outside.
There are usually three or four of us that come here to eat and none of us has had a bad experience yet. Prices are reasonable. Service is generally pretty fast. I am sure we will back many more times.

I’ll start off by saying I’m an IHOP fan in general so I am a little biased going in but I can say with clarity that this is the best location I’ve ever been to. Part of that was it was new, and still is relatively speaking. Used to be an O’Charleys but they did something, knocked out walls or something to make the place much bigger that it was relative to seating and open air environment. The place is almost always busy but typically you get seated right away due to the size of the space. Friendly staff. Servers are usually very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food gets to you fast, regardless of how busy they are which is a wonder to me. Menu is varied and full. It also changes periodically though the staples are always going to be on there. Unique specialties that are usually delicious. I’ve really liked to absolutely loved everything I’ve ever ordered there. Ok, that does sound very homerish. Last thing about it is if you live in Hoover and probably other Metro Birmingham locales TakeOut Birmingham, will deliver IHOP to your door. This friends, is a dangerous proposition and one that has already added numbers to my waist. I’m on the wagon with IHOP but she’s a temptress. I don’t hold out much hope on a Non-​IHOP strategy. It’s a five star eating experience but it is definitely NOT good for your health, so a solid 4 with disclaimer is what I’m going with.

Every time I go here I leave feeling sick. It isn’t IHOP’s fault. I eat way too much every single time. This is my son’s favorite place in the whole world.

We always seem to get seated in the same section with the same waiter. Now we don’t go every week but he has learned our favorites. That says a lot for a place packed everyday.
Food —
Always great breakfast. I only get breakfast no matter the time of day. They will add to or take off any ingredients you ask for. We love this place.

Food was not bad. Service was terrible and we waited 2 hours for food after only having drinks refilled 2 times… Worst ihop I’ve been to.

This is a great IHOP that I frequent about once a month. The food is good, the service is quick, and the people are nice. The Harvest Grain n Nut Pancakes are my favorite.

The experience started off rocky. My wife and I ordered a tall stack of pancakes (5 pancakes) for each of us and our server brought us each, a single pancake. On top of that, it was cold. So much so, that NONE of the butter was melted. When we reiterated that we wanted a «tall stack», so she proceeds to bring us back 4 pancakes… counting the first cold pancake as part of the 5 in our order. It least those 4 where piping hot!

As others mentioned here, this is a pretty sweet IHOP. First of all, the place is huge. I haven’t seen an IHOP quite like it. The service has been spectacular on both my visits. Would come back for sure. Country steak is my favorite.

Very good and consistent food. The waiter was amazing, she took the entire order by memory and got it correct. This is one of the nicest IHOPs locations period.

Best IHOP in Birmingham. Place is clean and staff is friendly and attentive. This will be my new default IHOP location! Try the Cinni-​stack pancakes :)
