Great down home atmosphere. Outside seating, and pet friendly is awesome. Don’t be scared by the looks, the people are examples of top notch kindness, give it a try. I especially like their corkage policy: BYOB(beer or wine) and pay $ 1.00 that goes to local culinary scholarships. Oh, and the burgers are amazing, with local beef options

One of the best burgers I’ve had in my life! Had the whack-a-mole, so delicious. The meat was really savory, and the avocado was really fresh. The buns are baked here so were just as perfect. The atmosphere is really chill and laid back. Even though it’s outdoor and not on 395, there’s plenty of seating. The workers are cool and great experience all around.

Wow, what a great way to end an incredible weekend up in the mountains! We were camping up at Bishop Creek and passed this place a few times on our way into town. One look at, and I knew it was a place we needed to stop in and check out. Huge lines, but the shade and misters kept us cool. The staff was amazing! Outstanding service and food. Great prices and portions. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about those juicy burgers. I had the«Ryan’s Goods». The onion rings and tater tots were the best ever. We ate in the shade with our dogs and my favorite part was when I ordered my gf’s burger wrapped in lettuce and the woman behind the counter calmly left her station, walked outside into the garden, whipped out a pocket knife and cut off some fresh lettuce leaves before returning to finish taking our order. That was too cool! We’ll definitely be back and recommend it to all of our friends. Thank you to everybody there who made our experience so special.

Their burgers are delicious! Organic and homemade feel… The veggie burger is amazing as well. It has nuts and black bean. The shakes are so filling and refreshing. The seating has a very country side feel to it and is comfortable.

Delicious! There’s even a small drive-up window. Easy to get to cute roadside, excellent burgers, tater tots were great, the dip was great, onion rings fantastic. Now my favorite eats in Bishop! They did a lot of planning on how to make the property work. There’s chalk for all to color with out front too! Small pets welcome but you have to pick up after them!(As with all places). Hit Burger Barn then head over to the Looney Bean for an Awake Shake!

Classic burger star in an old school way. Local grass feed or angus patty. Homemade buns and ice cream. A small upstairs indoor seating area with a view of the snow capped peaks of grouse mountain and surrounding area.

Can’t decide which one was better, the food or the service! Really nice and warm reception and service! And even better food! Local, fresh and tasty… The beef burger with bacon is one of the best I’ve ever had! And the fries amazing! Crispy, spicy and super tasty! And make sure you don’t miss the onion soup! Their tea is also amazing! It’s really worth the visit!

BBB is substantially off the beaten path, but certainly worth the detour when passing through Bishop! The majority of the seating is outside, with only a small section of «inside»(covered, but open) seating upstairs. The service is as cordial and friendly as can be. This place is just about as hole-in-the-wall/mom-n-pop as it gets. Their hand-scrawled menu is difficult to understand, and the smaller sign on the ground beneath it with an also hand-written paragraph describing the reasoning behind the confusion adds insult to injury. But I wasn’t here for clarity or typography. I was here for a delicious burger, tots, and shake, and that’s what I got. The large serving of tots is ample to serve at least 3 or 4 people as an accompaniment to their burgers. If you come during the lunch rush, be prepared to potentially suffer the fate of a line to order, a wait for your meal, and perhaps street parking in lieu of the lot. All quite understandable and worth the extra hurdles. There’s a beer/wine corkage fee of $ 1(per person) available, which goes to charity.

A new friend in mammoth told us about this place over beers… «A tasty local treat hidden gem» — sold! Just stopped on our drive back to OC with high expectations, which were met. All impressed with the burgers and those milk shakes. Wowza! Some of the table comments: «I thought I was gonna die, but then I ate your burger and I was okay» «This is probably one of the top three burgers I’ve ever had, actually maybe the best» «Dude, this is next level» «Mmmmmmmmm» I shall return someday!

Best burger I feel I have ever had. I had a bison burger with blue cheese with grilled onions. I also had some onion rings which were breaded just the way the Burger Gods wanted us to eat! To top it off the lemonade was great to have with the meals. Dessert?! Yes please, give me the Nutella Shake! Cheers!

Stopped by this place on the way to Mammoth Mtn. A local snowboarding shop recommended this place. You order outside and walk into a 2nd story covering? I don’t even know how to describe this place… It’s like a small room with 10 – 12 stools with a couple tables and a bar sitting area(minus the bar). Windows aren’t really windows so don’t dare to push it. You will fall right through it. Apparently this place gets packed during meal times so avoid those hours or you have to eat outside in the open. The burgers were okay. Fresh and cooked well. But for the price I paid? not so much. A couple of our friend got bison and they said it didn’t taste anything like bison. I liked the fries but again, I LOVE fries… hard to mess up fries. Will I come again? Maybe… But as an outsider I’ve had better.

Best quality burger you’ll get at a burger joint. This was definitely worth the wait after a 3 hr + drive from LA, an even better cheat meal. The burgers are premium Certified Angus beef. Homemade buns are so good! They also offer a veggie burger and turkey burger too. You can get your burger any style you want or some of their signature options. Whack a Mole: mahogany smoked bacon and gauc, requested for grilled onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato. It was amazing! Double Angus Burger: double that delicious juiciness, please! Double meat, double cheese. Tots: must order that crispy crunch tater tots. Or order half tots, half onion rings. It just completes the meal. Food comes out pretty quickly, no more than a 10 min wait. They’ll call your name when it comes out. Great friendly service. You’ll feel like you’re talking to a friend or a neighbor. All outdoor seating. Not sure how it is when the weather doesn’t permit for outside dining. There is a room where you’ll take the stairs up and there’s about 3 small tables and some stools for window viewing. They only have a few parking spaces, but the street is a available. No need to worry about parking metros or limit parking signs. This place is straight off the road and very much like the barn. The homemade backyard burger, but better!

On our way back to LA from Mammoth we stopped at Bishop Burger Barn in Bishop, CA to see what this place is all about. Bishop Burger Barn offers locally raised, grass-fed, all natural Bishop beef upon request, or premium Certified Angus beef. In addition, they also offer homemade veggie burgers, turkey burgers and etc. We ordered: –Whack a Mole(¼ lb. California raised Angus topped with local mahogany smoked bacon, homemade guacamole, lettuce, tomato, without red onion and mayonnaise) $ 6.95 –House Burger — Ryan Goods(¼ lb California raised Angus topped with local mahogany smoked bacon, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayonnaise) $ 6.65 –House Burger — Modified Ryan Goods(¼ lb California raised Angus topped with local mahogany smoked bacon, instead of blue cheese we added Pepper Jack, lettuce, tomato, and onion) $ 7.40 –Self constructed burger — Classic cheeseburger(¼ lb California raised Angus topped with white cheddar cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce, and pickles) $ 5.25 — Side — Garlic fries [French fries(large — $ 3) with garlic($ 0.50)] $ 3.50 Everything was delicious except the fries were way too salty. As you can see you can either create your own burger the way you want it or you can choose between their house burgers or specials. They also offer kid’s meals. In addition, they also have drinks, smoothies, ice cream and milkshakes and coffee. Everything is made to order so just prepare to wait a little if they’re a little busy. Our food came out pretty quick since we came at the right time. If you have a food allergy make sure to inform them when you order because they use nuts, seafood, tropical fruits, wheat, soy and many other allergens in their daily operations. There is a parking lot to the left side to the entrance. However, if there’s none available, no worries because you can always park on the street. FYI: they do have a drive thru, but why go through there when you can enjoy your burger right there and then. In addition, they charge $ 0.25 on to go orders. P. S. no free refills on drinks. Refills: Coke/Cherry Coke/Vanilla Coke/Diet Coke/Root Beer/Iced Tea — small $ 0.25 and large $ 0.50 Lemonade — small $ 1 and large $ 1.50 This place is definitely a little burger barn tucked away out of town that will knock your socks off!

After a long day of hiking, climbing and taking photographs, all we wanted to do was have something good and fast for dinner. Looking through Bishop Dinning Menu publication, we notice Bishop Burger Barn, proclaiming itself as having the best burger in Bishop. Address entered in the GPS and we start wondering, is this the right direction? Looks like a residential area. The GPS announces, «the destination is on your left». I ask my daughter, did you see anything? We pull over and notice the joint. Do we want to eat there? Looks to funky to me! Where do we park? Across the street and walk over? We make a «U» turn, drive a short distance — oh, we can park inside! The entrance to the Burger Barn also doubles as the vehicle entrance to a trailer park! All outdoor seating. Walked over to order. A little confusing at first but managed to get it done. I had an Angus burger and it was very good. The bun was perfect. Veggies fresh. The french fries was exceptional. My daughter had a cheeseburger with guacamole on the side. It was also good. We look forward to dining here again.

incredibly delicious!!! i love it!!! Also wenn man in Bishop essen möchte, dann hier!!!

Out on Line street is a place where you can get a very delicious burger. People usually only go out on this state highway if they are heading up to the Bishop Pass area, so there location isn’t that great, but most of the locals know it’s hear apparently, so I’m sure they’re doing alright. The outdoor dining can be fun, if not quirky, and new in 2015 is an upper deck. I can’t say that they take the burger to the next level, but you’ll be satisfied with the product and it is worth going off the beaten path when in Bishop to go here IF you do want a burger and some tater tots. Bön appétit!

I went here once on the way to Mammoth, and once on the way back. It’s good! The veggie burger wasn’t my fave, but it was good. I think I just went overboard on the toppings. The grilled cheese comes on wheat bread, FYI — I’d prefer white or sourdough, but that’s just me. The fries and onion rings are good. The salads are big and good. The vanilla shakes are good. Service was good. They make everything to order, so don’t expect your food to magically appear 30 seconds after you order it. Bring your own beer, FTW!
