The good: They have lots of bagels to choose from. If you like pumpernickel they have it(this is a rare find trust me) and if you like cheese there’s 4 different kinds of cheesy bagels. They have a parmesan bagel that literally looks like the guy who wanted to freshly grate cheese on your Italian meal was never told to stop. It’s a literal mount piled high and it’s awesome. They also have lots of homemade cream cheese like a jalapeño that is spicy and delicious, and a veggie cream cheese that is really unlike any other cream cheese I’ve had. Really fresh and good. They have a lunch special also that you can pick a bagel or bread, add a mean, cheese and 2 veggies(al form a list) and chips and pop for $ 6.25. Not a bad deal. The not so good: Service here is really… interesting. I’ve had bad service and more times than not in the morning. I’ve had crabby people. I have never-ending patience but I can’t stand if someone is rude. If I come in and I’m the only person waiting, acknowledge me. Don’t look at me while you do something and say nothing, while I stand there looking at you to help me. I came in to pay for something, you can at least say«just a second’ or good morning. If there’s a group of people waiting don’t get snippy/short with me because you’re busy. I didn’t choose your job so learn some manners and patience please. I also have been waiting for someone to help me, not been acknowledged, and a «regular» came in. Then all of a sudden it’s «hey so and so! How are you» and small talk and take their order while I stay there for another 5 minutes. I’ve said things multiple times to the very kind owner if she’s there or on other occasions about this, but it doesn’t do any good. The verdict– Pick your battle. Starbucks is RIGHT next door. You can always go there to get something else if you’re getting bad service. It’s not going to change things here so it’s up to you if you get the bad apple how you want to react. They do have some good things, I’m just cautious when I go in.

This is my go-to bagel place from now on! I ordered a everything with chive and everything about my bagel was perfect, toasted to perfection, just the right amount of chive cream cheese & this bagel really filled me up! I paid 285 I believe which also made me more ecstatic. It’s a little out the way from home but it’s well worth it. Nice customer service, great breakfast I can’t wait to try other menu items, I heard they have breakfast sandwiches so bacon egg and cheese is next LOL. Give this spot a try

When I walked in, Brooklyn Bagel looked and smelled like a like a traditional bagel shop, but when I bit into the bready bagel my high hopes were immediately dashed. Brooklyn Bagel is a good alternative to Einstein or Panera, but the bagel is more on par with those than New York Bagel or Jerusalem Bagel.

Maybe it was my high expectations from the name… but this place was just ok. I popped in on my long drive down for a viewing. I wanted something that was fairly easy to eat and the car and slightly more delicious than the fast food I Jane been eating all too frequently lately. I have had my fill of turkey and ham from the continuous holiday parties, so I opted for a blt. I thought I asked for it on a bagel so I could sample the highly thought bagels… but it came on what seemed like wonder bread.. eh. It was $ 5.99 for a can of mountain dew, bag of better made BBQ and the wonder bread blt. It was fine but nothing I would seek out again.

Had a bagel sandwich. There was a good inch and a half of cheese in it, alternating Swiss and cheddar. I removed half. Otherwise nice.

Brooklyn bagels never lets you down! My regular lunch order is the light lunch tuna salad on toasted sesame bagel with a new pickle. Always delicious, quick and easy. Highly recommended and run by wonderful people.

I go to Brooklyn Bagels because its a convenient for location me. The bagels are OK. One thing i’ve noticed is the consistently bad service. Whether they’re new clerks, or just uninterested in serving their customers… I can never tell. I always feel like they are doing me a favor to wait on me. If there was another option for bagels near me I would take it. A smile goes a long way first thing in the morning. I never get one at Brooklyn Bagels.

Cute little deli that has over 20 kinds of bagels, makes all kinds of sandwiches, and even has tuna and pasta salads. It’s fast clean and friendly, and for a small little place does offer a great selection. Took away one star bc sometimes their asiago bagel is pretty oily, but it’s my favorite so I always get it. Will be back!

I stopped because I was going to get a Starbucks coffee next door but Starbucks has the worst breakfast and in front of me was a new place that caught my eye — so I went in! Boy, am I glad I did! I got an asiago breakfast bagel with Boars Head Turkey Breast, scrambled egg, and cheese that was to die for delicious. Then I was also pleasantly surprised they had delicious chocolate raspberry coffee. If ever in the area, I will not be seeking out Starbucks again. Awesome place! Large choice of breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches.

The bagels are great! Crunchy, soft, substantial and of course delicious all at the same time. Cream cheese was good too. Some other users mentioned the service as an issue. I ordered something very simple, and did not have an issue. They were quick and efficient. But definitely not what I would call overly friendly. If you are looking for a quality bagel, this is your place.

Visited here for the first time the other day. Went back again today. my bagel was really awesome. great crunch and wonderful light chewiness on the inside. Hummous was fab. creamy. delish. I see the reports about rude service. I saw nothing of the sort. What I observed in the many older ladies behind the counter was charm. they couldn’t have been nicer to me on both occasions. sure beats the hipsters next door at starbucks and the bagels were on point!

Made a turnaround for this place as we were on our way elsewhere and needed a snack. I was shocked that they were open past noon on a Sunday, let alone ’til 6. Good deal! Grabbed two cinnamon raisin bagels(husband and kid both gave thumbs up), an everything(nice blend, not just all salt or all garlic), a Newyorker(onion bagel w onions inside – haven’t tried but smells divine) and the mother of all Detroitness – the salt stick. Ohhh, salt stick. I love you. Bagels were chewy and delicious. I imagine they’d be amazing super early in the AM right after being pulled from the oven. But for 3pm on a Sunday, seriously, they were pretty great. I had a younger«kid»(male) help us and he was very friendly and helpful which is completely contrary to others’ experiences. Maybe they should consider promoting the young man as his customer service was a nice surprise. We’ll return if we’re in the neighborhood again.

Brooklyn Bagel ladies greet you with a warm and pleasant smile when you walk in the door. They have a large offering of bagels, including salt sticks and special wheat grain bagels. They have many flavors of their own personal cream cheese. The bagels are fresh! and prepared to how ever you please. They also have delicious frozen yogurt — no fat low cal. They have a great deal a bagel and coffee for 3 $ !! Open early in the AM :) and there is free parking. There is also a starbucks next door if you want that kind of coffee kick, otherwise they have their own there. There is also chips and other delicious little treats for sale.

Under $ 7 for a lox and cream cheese bagel seems completely improbable in the Detroit area. Lox is expensive already, and most places that deal in such fare are somewhat upscale, or at least price themselves for a clientele with money to burn. But not here. Here you get a fantastic toasted bagel, fluffy cream cheese, and delectable, fresh salmon. Phenomenal service and fresh ingredients for a great price. Delicious! A side note: I only saw one or two tables in the place, and no chairs. Don’t plan on eating in.

Stopped in on the way to somewhere and saw the $ 3 bagel and cream cheese with coffee special that was advertised in their window. As a former New Yorker and Brooklyn resident, both items were good/quality. I thoroughly enjoyed consuming them. I was also lucky enough to be given the option to get a bagel that was fresh out of the oven instead of toasted one I’d originally ordered. I was rung up fairly quickly even with 3 people checking out ahead of me. This was welcome because I was in a hurry. I was given an empty coffee cup to fill up at the ‘pump’ coffee carafes to the left of the register where there were about 6 – 8 coffee flavor/style options to select from. I look forward to going back soon to try some of their other deli case breakfast and lunch fare. BBD’s definitely has the element of NYC authenticity I want to continue to vet.

The bagles are great here with many varieties of bagles. I noticed that the Asiago Cheese Bagle seems to be very popular, so I tried it and I see why. The variety of cream cheese spreads are very tasty, and the breakfast sandwich menu variety will leave you wanting to choose them all. Even though there’s a Starbucks next door, I make it a point to grab coffee here.(Personally, Starbucks coffee is too acidic for me…) The only drawback to this location, is that there is only one table, so plan on grabbing it to-go.(And maybe go down the street to the Nature Center?)

In need of a quick bite to eat, I stopped by Brooklyn Bagel and Deli with a friend, and may I say YUM! I ordered a toasted garlic bagel with cream cheese, tomato and real lox. I thought the price was a little steep with a $ 7 bagel sandwich but then I looked at how much lox they stuffed into it! The bagel was tasty and the lox. WOWZA it was good. If it was’t so expensive I would’ve bought two! They do have lunch specials though and a WHOLE lot of great options. They also have a nice selection of drinks, candy, etc. Final verdict: tasty, stuffed a lot of stuff onto a bagel, great selection, a little pricey.
