I love their egg rolls! Also, we get the same young man as a waiter every time. He is so nice and gives great service.

Needed a place in the SW Suburbs of the cities. Found this spot where the phở was decent and spicy chicken wings were delish! Only reason for a 3 star is because of slow service and the over flowing bowl of phở in which it was filled to the max! I think knowing that, the cook/waiter should’ve used a bigger bowl or catch plate instead of bringing it and spilling on the table. Also 3 stars because there was no fish sauce n hot garlic pepper on the table!!! Cmon man!

My go-to restaurant when I need a quick, fantastic fix of phở! Being raised on phở my entire life, I’ve been exposed to an eclectic variety of phở varying in quality. I know my phở. Kimson is a humble restaurant, and it’s not the easiest on the eyes, but the food absolutely shines through. I am always greeted by friendly servers, and the food comes out at a quick pace. Their spicy garlic wings are by far the best appetizer on the starter menu. No one makes those wings as flavorful as Kimson. Definitely try the wings with a bowl of rice. Their phở is exemplary. I frequent the phở dac biet(combination phở) which comes with generous portions of different meats. The broth is sweet, savory, and nostalgic. Each bowl is crafted with care and very reasonably priced. I am a regular in this gem, and will absolutely continue to visit.

I read some review stating its one of the«best» places to grab phở near the Metro/Bloomington area, which is what I had been craving for at the moment, but I was the least impressed. The extra large bowl is a good portion, the broth was clean and okay in tasting(not to mention that they didn’t have all sauces), but that the chicken wings weren’t even evenly cooked. The service was nice, which is why I had given them 2 stars, but other than that I would have given them a 1. Harsh rating? Maybe, but in the future I don’t see myself going back.

I have been here several times, and it is consistently good. The eggs rolls and Phở are my favorites! Staff is the best.

This is the home of the best egg rolls in the TC, hands down! Their spring rolls are also pretty darn good, as is the phở. They have a lunch buffet that’s got some tasty things for a very reasonable price. If you plan on eating weekday lunch, get there early. The business folks who work near there pack it in quickly. The service is good and the food is served quickly. If you want take out, calling ahead cuts down on the wait even more.

Beware, don’t show up at 9:31 because they won’t serve you. They stop seating at 9:30 even though they close at 10. Can’t comment on quality of the food but service was very poor.

I got phở to go. It was packaged nicely with all the sides and plenty of basil which some places skimp on. I thought the broth was pretty bland and thin. I actually added Sriracha and hoison which I usually only use to dip because I love phở broth. It was inexpensive and convenient but not my favorite.

I come here for the phở because who wants to drive all the way to Minneapolis for phở! I honestly think that is why they are still in business. I use to live in Bloomington and they never seem busy but their phở is awesome with lots of beef in them. Their spicy chicken wings and spring rolls are also very good. I’ve actually never tried their other dishes. I’m giving them 4 stars because of their customer service but then again what do you expect from an Asian restaurant? Lol sometimes they don’t even refill my drink. And they are always talking in The back. But that’s my only complaint.

Good coffee! Nice staff! Great food! My phở got a generous amount of meat in it, and tasty broth!

Big portions. Phở is amazing. Potato and chicken dish is super good. There is a buffet. A popular lunch spot for the area.

Worst place to eat. They brought us not one but 3 spoons that was noticeably dirty(sauce of some sort). Rude servers; here’s a tip to Kimsons closed that ish down before you kill some1…

The egg rolls are super delicious! They are a must have. So far one of the best I have eaten. I think the pricing for the egg roll is decent since it’s bigger than any other egg roll I’ve had. I liked the Phở and wouldn’t mind getting Phở there again if I get a craving. I got it to go and so it was lacking taste since I couldn’t add more sauces to my liking.

I’ve been here years before and not pleased with their foods but things must have changed for the better. I went here for lunch and it was packed! As soon as you stepped into the door, the phở flavor just hit you right there and then. They have a ‘large’ variety of phở choices, which isn’t something you see a lot now a days in MN; and also 3 different sizes. I’ve had better phở but for a local place that’s close to work(and semi close to home) I’d say it hit the spot! No more driving 45 minutes to Mpls or St Paul for a good bowl of phở. The mint/bean sprouts are fresh. The flavor is decent. They didn’t cheap out on meats. What else could one ask for. As you’ve noticed with other reviews, the place could use some upgrading but I’m there for the food so I don’t care. There’s a good sized parking lot, which beat the other Eat Streets if you’re going on a weekend.

This is not your to go to Phở place if you know what I mean. It’s just so bad here I can’t stand it. Service is meh, I usually order carry out to avoid it. I recommend their beef stew with egg noodle(Mi Bo Kho), Bun Bo Hue, and happy pancake(banh xeo). Get the eggroll too, it’s really good from here but don’t get their spicy wings. The last few times I ordered it, it was soaked in grease and half way burned. Their buffet is great too and if you ask, they’ll give u a few toothpicks to sample thru. Overall, great food and nice people.

Every once in while I have a craving for Phở… What? You are right, I have this craving every 2 – 3 days. I live and work in Bloomington. Hence it is a chore to drive all the way to Eat Street to get a bowl of sweet roma soup from Phở 79. Kimson in Bloomington which is exactly 2.4 miles from my work place. Hence through the cold winters of Minnesota, this is the place for me. You know what is better than a good bowl of Phở? Bún bò Hue! No ma’am, I am NOT delusional(okay, maybe on other subject matters). I may fight over a good bowl of Phở here and there, but… When it comes to Bún bò Hue, I will lie, cheat, steal, hip-check grandmothers for this soup. Oh yes, Kimson has it and let me tell you it is spicy and full of goodness! The spicy broth will warm you up way better than your worshipping that ground hog that makes you believe winter will end early. If you love spicy things — get the Bún bò Hue! Since we are on the subject matter of spicy dishes, get the Vietnamese Spicy Chicken wings from these guys! I will attached the picture. Isn’t it ‘beautiful’? Yes, I use the word ‘beautiful’ with wings. Other honorable dishes from this restaurant: * Eggrolls are outstanding. * Vietnamese Coffee(We like watching slow dripping coffee — not the premix from other restaurants) Now do you feel warmer? Hey I tried. Drink some more Vietnamese coffee — trust me on this — it is the BEST. P. S.4 years ago, I gave this restaurant a 2 stars. Trust me, this place have changed me in a big way. Love this place — Go have the dishes I have indicated.

Pretty good phở and pretty good egg rolls. Everything could have stood to be a little spicier, but still a good joint to satisfy the occasional phở craving. The main dishes offered did not impress, and there is definitely better Vietnamese in the Cities.

Works in a pinch when stranded in the south metro with a hankering for my newly beloved Vietnamese cuisine. [Note: Chinese food also available.] The mock duck salad was cheap, yet abundant with hunks of seitan goodness. A medley of textures and tastes… dense duck, crisp lettuce, sweet sauteed onions retaining a slight crunch yet far from raw, and firm tomatoes. Yum enough that I was able to turn a blind eye to the glistening [read: oily] nature of the salad. Skip the spring rolls. Fails on freshness, stuffed with soggy shredded iceberg lettuce. An unappetizing mush-in-your mouth feel. Don’t expect polished professional service or white tablelothes, but the man(owner, I believe) gets the job done on passable English.

i love their spicy chicken wings & cream cheese wontons! :) However, the spring rolls weren’t that great. Just like a few other reviews they stuff it with a lot of noodles and old lettuce. I only come for the spicy chicken wings and cream cheese wontons!

Got couple hours to kill before our flight, fired up Unilocal and found Kimson which is the closest to us. Restaurant is easy to fine and has a big parking lot. It offers lunch buffet but looks more than chinese style rather than vietnamese. Limited vietnamese dishes and besides PHO, all other vietnamese dishes are in vietnamese without english description. I had to use google to see what each dish looks like. We all ordered Phở Combo extra large and I have to say the PHO here is pretty authentic, soup is tasty and portions are big, lots of meat and beff meatballs. We also ordered the spring rolls and egg rolls, both are pretty good.
