In town for the week and love the olde town dispensary and Bluffton and the carolinas in general, it is a laid back place with insane natural beauty. We went to vineyard 55 tonight and spent a good part of the night there and had a good time and had good conversation, ordered food and drinks with our group… Was then reminded of how far south we were by an Ohioan that showed up late in the night and was abrasive and whom insulted and threatened me and my group… The bartender working at vineyard 55 then reinforced our aggressor and insinuated that we were the problem then ushered us out of the bar even though we had been there without incident for hours. I will not go to this mediocre diner ever again even though I will be in Bluffton in the near future. There are too many options with better menus in the area. This type of odd interaction will work itself out naturally in the future and hopefully the smarter South Carolinians know that this is what is coming. I have never written a Unilocal review in the past and I live in and grew up in Philadelphia, a place with a huge food culture and diversity which is a good thing in my mind. It was a big disappointment that the bartender at vineyard 55 was so dismissive of people that had been there for the night and had no issue. I’m sure we will find other options I this area. Vineyard 55 is completely forgettable.

Really unimpressed. Mediocre service. Pizza too was not great. Servers seem distracted by something other than customers!

Food is very good. At night however the bands they have are obnoxiously loud for a place that leans towards a classy establishment. This evening while we were seated at our table the«bouncer» came over and very rudely asked if we were drinking then said he needs to see ID’s. I’ve eaten at this place before and it does not come across as a place where it should need a bouncer or a loud band. It kind of makes it just another dive bar with no class other than the name.

New to the area and have been 4 times. We had friends in town so we brought them to Vineyard 55. The guy told us they were having problems with the oven. So it took 50 minutes for 3 mini pizzas. They were so gross. Raw inside and chewy. He told us again about the oven problems. But did nothing and gave us these gross blobs of dough. We’ve spent about $ 400 there in 2 months and won’t go back or recommend this spot til someone makes it right. There are too many other places to go in town with good food.

Not coming back. I was attended by I’m guessing the owner of the place. Slow service. Ordered a beer and had the intention of ordering food. I stopped myself when this lady gave me the look when I couldn’t understand what she was saying.

Meh, it’s alright I guess. I feel like the food is a little overpriced for what it is(especially the pizzas). The house salads though, are awesome. Best bleu cheese dressing I have had anywhere. I also like that they have a variety of local craft brews and an extensive wine list. It’s not the most comfortable, you feel a little out of place walking in and trying to flag someone down asking them the seating protocol(do you just sit anywhere? are you a hostess?) it changes every time I go. All of that aside, it’s a fun place to go later in the evening if you want to sit outside and listen to their live music. There are always a different variety of people there. Service was… okay…last time I went. A little slow, but it didn’t impact the dining experience.

Visited on a busy Friday night. We had reserved a table for 8 and were promptly seated. Our drink order was taken fairly quickly but drinks were slow coming. Sandwiches ordered were good with marginal sides of pasta & potato salad. Negative — 1 unisex bathroom! When I inquired about 1 bathroom, I was informed that according to Bluffton code, only 1 bathroom is required per 90 occupants. You would think that an establishment that featured an extensive beer list, would have have better restrooms available. As I waited unsuccessfully for the restroom, I got a first hand look at the food prep area & was really turned off by the mess on the floor & counters. A 3 pc jazz group played and they were fine, but in the small inside area, too loud to talk. Might head back for a quieter lunch on the porch.

I was pretty close to changing this suggested meeting venue with friends while on vacay… however I am glad I followed through! Adorably quaint! We each enjoyed the beverage choices, the tapas of antipasto platter and crab cakes were perfect, as were the variety of pizzas that served as our main course. As far as previous service reviews… our server April did a great job and was incredibly personable! This place is about spending a relaxing evening with good friends, enjoying a great beer and good food… well done!

Like the atmosphere and like buying a few bottles of wine to take home. Ordered 2 pizzas to share with my husband. They were not very warm and didn’t seem fresh. They reminded me a lot of a Lean Cuisine frozen pizza. I’d skip the food, but come back for drinks.

I know a lot of people love this place, but after multiple visits one begins to see some of the pimples and pock marks beneath the make up. It can be 5 star one night and 2 star the next, and all points in between. It may not warrant a 3 star, but it certainly doesn’t deseve a 4. Yes, it’s intimate and cozy. It’s got some pretty good food, a good wine selection, and an OK selection of beers(maybe I’m being unfair after having experienced the microbrew revolution in other states… SC is still in the Stone Age), but it needs to have greater consistency in staffing, and the live music acts it brings in. Is that asking too much? …and did they ever get rid of that $ 10 fee for cracking open a bottle of wine? I hope so…

We just stopped in for a drink after shopping in Bluffton. This place is adorable and the sangria is AWESOME! The service was friendly and the outdoor patio is so comfortable and very relaxed. You feel like you’re sitting on a friend’s front porch in the Deep South! I can’t vouch for the food but it looked like a nice menu. Stop here!

This is a favorite spot to sit and watch the afternoon turn to night while listening to a live band. There are lots of things on the menu, like smoked salmon and the pizzas, which are all very well prepared. If you like beer and wines, this is the right place for you. It is very Bluffton chic and an easy walk to other parts of Bluffton. The staff is always great — and you will catch the locals here most nights.

Perfect outside seating. We enjoyed our drinks and hummus and there was a live singer ready to sing. Unfortunately the gnats ate us up and these folks didn’t have air fans, citronella, or candles to help at all. I’m from the south so it’s not like I’m not used to bugs. Anything would have helped. We had to leave after first drink because of them.

We went to Vineyard 55 for Sunday lunch. It is a great restaurant with plenty of good craft beers and wines. I had a Peach Bellini for only $ 3 which was delicious. The food was great too. I had the Roasted Red Pepper soup with Gouda cheese which was so good I have looked up to make it myself! My husband had a Turkey Sandwich which he said was good also. The staff here are friendly and attentive and the prices reasonable. I will definitely be going back.

I want to give this place four stars but cannot pull the trigger. AWESOME beer and wine selection. Atmosphere was super relaxed, cozy, and inviting. The service and knowledge of the products was good. The food was pathetic. That might be harsh, but when most of your menu is sandwiches, have good bread. The meat and cheeses were good, but the bread was stale. Very disappointed with the food. Over all I would like to come back for a drink and to purchase some wines, but probably would not eat here again.

Vineyard 55 is a great, local bar/restaurant/café type place with an impressive selection of wine and beer. They have a good selection of seasonal, artisan cheeses and other locally crafted fare as well. I took my wife here on our first date after moving to the area in the Summer of 2011 and we were impressed with the atmosphere of the place(rustic building, friendly staff, intriguing and eclectic menu, LOTS of wines, big leather couches), as well as the knowledgeable staff who suggested some good wines after we described to him our particular tastes. The place has a fully stocked bar, a deli-style counter where you can get meats and cheeses either for your orderl at the restaurant or to go, as well as a regular dinner menu. We usually order several smaller plates, Tapas-style, to share and have never been disappointed as they will customize some of the menu items to your tastes is you tell your waiter(i.e. for the cheese plate«We dont care for xxx type of cheese.» and they will avoid it). Vineyard 55 is a great break from the regular bar-scene and one of the local gems in Bluffton I am glad to have stumbled upon.
