Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Stopped for dinner with a friend on the way to the Youngstown Playhouse to see their production of Cats. I’m guessing we arrived before the rush — about 5:30 PM and had our first «five guys experience.» It turned out a little awkward because I was the person who suggested this place to my friend who was buying me dinner. I suggested it because I thought the prices would be quite reasonable but they turned out to be higher than I thought they would be. There’s a slight disconnect when you stand in line to order and pay in advance what you’re getting because it makes it appear similar to fast food so one may expect fast food prices. However this is not particularly fast food and it is certainly good food. If someone brought us the bill after we oohed and aahed about the juicy hamburgers and kiddingly fought over the order of amazing fries we shared I think we would have not thought twice about the price! Of course that suggestion runs counter to the way the joint operates… So bottom line the food is tasty and high quality but expect to pay about $ 12 per person for the experience.

The burgers and hotdogs are greasy and fantastic. The atmosphere is perfect for the type of food. They give you a bagful of fries for a good price. And they have Mr. Pibb, MR. FUCKING PIBB!!!

I have to say this is one of the best burger joints you can find around. These burgers and fries blow every fast food chain out of the water. The burgers are amazing and all the toppings are FREE! and it isn’t just a lettuce, tomato, onion kinda place. You can really stack it high in there. I have to keep my ordering down since I am a fat american that enjoys a bacon cheeseburger, loaded with everything under the son… don’t worry I did get a diet coke.

First time here, burgers are VERY good. I like that the fries are from freshly cut potatoes instead of frozen fast-​food fries. Be forewarned: «normal» burgers are actually 2 patties and make for a big burger.

Great food, and the service is usually great. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are ENORMOUS. Don’t order a large fry for yourself unless you think you can eat like 8 or 9 potatoes. One of the best burgers in the Youngstown Area, and definitely the best franchise burgers in the area. I recommend the double bacon cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and ketchup.

Clean, friendly, wonderful staff, and wow am I full. Delicious messy huge burger. Get the «little» one… it’s more than enough!
