Great customer service & awesome spray booths!

Memories of this place make me wish I lived in the suburbs again. I started going when they first opened, and I immediately loved it. They were always clean, and the girls up front were always very nice and helpful. Being the uh, not so skinny girl, I was really nervous about tanning. I was worried I’d be judged because I wasn’t some Barbie, so I preferred standup beds as opposed to the lay down (I was always afraid I’d break them, although I’ve been told it’s a pretty ridiculous fear…). After a few times of tanning, I had a beautiful color. I was working out and losing weight at the time as well, and I cannot explain the self confidence I was gaining. The warmth and relaxation also did wonders for my anxiety. Since I moved to the city, I’ve been wanting to tan again, but there’s really nothing of great quality within my price range. I will say, if they open a location in my neighborhood (Lakeview, hint hint) I will sign up in a heartbeat. My only complaints were that there wasn’t towels, the booths are a little high, so keeping your arms up can get uncomfortable, and the fans in the beds can be really loud.
But again, I was going back in 2013, so these issues might have changed.

I usually only go tanning if I have a vacation in the future for a good base. I found this place on Unilocal and the reviews brought me here.
Customer service is ALWAYS important to me and I was not disappointed with how I was greeted. These people here were great. I got a lot of good information on the beds and was informed ahead of time of prices and how payment works (especially if you do a membership). You can cancel at any time which is huge if you don’t go tanning all the time.
As far as my tan. I will be updating on that within the next couple of days. So far so good. I just went today so over time I will see how it goes. The stand up bed was great and I started lower amount of time based on recommendations. I could have went longer but I prefer listening to the employee.
Regardless, I was not disappointed and I will be going back. I love how they were so friendly, informative, and did not push products on me.

After leaving the review, the owner personally contacted myself, apologized, refunded my money. He was beyond professional, true customer service at its finest. I hope ALL business owners are as wonderful as he. Truly was a miscommunication between employees, but I will say this when or if I needed a place to tan hands down this was the place, I never had a bad experience in the tanning salon, and his employees were all top notch, truly a reflection upon leadership, there owner. I sadly had to move at a blink of an eye, and due to circumstances beyond my control could not go in person to close out my account. It says a lot though, that an owner does read the reviews, takes pride in their business, and customer service. 5 stars. Thank you Joe, thank you for putting your customers first. True business owner at their finest.

This place used to be so clean, but recently every time I go in it is dirty. It looks like they clean the floor but with a dirty mop. I enjoy going to Zone Tan. I just wish they would do a better job cleaning.

My only experience with Zone is their Versa spray tan, which i LOVE LOVE LOVE.
I’ve tried other spray tans and they always end up looking cakey and orange, whereas the versa tan always looks «almondy» and natural. It’s a little expensive, but the quality is great. The front desk people are always welcoming & informative as well.

My experiences at Zone Tan have been exceptional. I’ve been a member since 2012. I only do the stand up 4 a proximity 12min. Zone tan has the best and most consistent high level of stand-​up beds for a very reasonable price. I have bought many of there tanning products thanks to all the beautiful, polite, and knowledgeable ladies who work at the facility in Bolingbrook. I’ve been an adimit tanning junkie for 24 years. Tanned at many facilities in and around the Chicagoland area. In my opinion Zone Tan overall is elite.

Very friendly, very clean! Loved the layout and environment. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. I got a whole tour because it was my first time. Only complaint, she pushed the membership way too much! After three times of her mentioning it before I went in for my tan, when I came out she was still trying to push it on me. But other than that it was a great experience!

Good prices, ok booths. The lack of towels in the booths really bothers me. There needs to be a hand towel or paper towels or something in the booths to wipe hands on. I don’t like paying for a service and having to supply my own towels. Really reconsidering my recently purchased membership. It really is a disservice not to have access to a darn towel.

So… I was IN LOVE with this place! First time I could actually acquire a tan without looking like I laid in a tanning bed. They have stand up booths and they were awesome!!! I bought a package thanks to a very helpful young girl, she was very thorough and detailed on the lotions and equipment. You could even «freeze» your account for a fraction of the monthly cost $ 5. Now… with that said, I took advantage of that and activated it for the winter months. To my surprise they continued to charge the normal fee and then after I cancelled 3 months later they continued to charge me for 2 more months. Needless to say they never offered a refund! My fault for not checking but they should practice better billing methods. Unfortunately they lost my business. :(

I went here for the first time today after recently cancelling my LA Tan membership. I was paying 39.99 at LA Tan and saw that I could get just as good of a deal at Zone Tan, so being the frugal woman I am, I switched over. And I am so endlessly grateful that I did.
The beds they have at Zone Tan are not like the «hot lamp» beds at La Tan. ALL their beds have the same «bronzing bulbs» that only the levels 5 & 6 at LA have. Which means they don’t burn you, and they give a longer lasting tan.
My tan was seriously the bronze-​est I have probably ever looked and it showed immediately. Also, the beds did not get overwhelmingly hot. They were spacious and the multiple fans on the ceiling of the beds kept me cool. I was very comfortable.
Yay! I’m so happy to have discovered Zone Tan!

Zone Tan has top of the line STAND UP beds so that there’s no risky business when it comes to picking up someone’s funk and getting a gross rash! Woo hoo :)
The girl at the front counter (I’ll re-​edit when I get her name, I forgot, sorry) was a super sweetheart and treated me way better than L.A. Tan did. I don’t look like a supermodel, but I like being warm and I like being tan. I am really pale, and she didn’t judge me. She sold me on their month package — UNLIMITED TANNING!!! — and it was cheap, too.
I also took advantage of their $ 5 spray tan for new clients. After UV tanning, I went for the spray tan in the Versa Spa. It has easy-​to-​follow, step-​by-​step illustrated directions posted on the interior so you are sure to get the proper spray coverage with no mistakes. The first time I got a spray tan at L.A. Tan, they just expected me to know what to do… yea, I looked like a brown/​orange zebra.

Also, quick tip — they sell a tanning lotion called Luminary… I’m definitely going to have to purchase one of those. It smells so amazing and leaves a very light, subtle hint of shimmer to your sexy, bronzed self. The shimmer won’t leave you looking like an off-​strip Vegas dancer — you know, with the huge chunks of glitter, lookin’ like a sexy disco ball.
They also have a bunch of stand up booths, so it’s a breeze to just walk in and tan.

Love! Customer service in other salons within about a 10 mile radius is severely lacking, so when I called about new membership packages and prices, I was beyond pleasantly surprised by the person who answered. Becca? 15 minutes later I was there with my new membership package, tanning and extremely happy with entire experience. Definitely recommend!
