Honestly, this place is disappointing, because when I initially tried it in Florida I loved it. The week I came back from Fla I found out there were a few Firehouses coming to the Chicagoland area. The one at Danada Sq is my most frequent stop. Though, I still enjoy it. Everytime, I have ordered in Bolingbrook, it just isn’t wowing me, like before. I always order the cheddar briskett. I loved the Hawaiian King sandwich too, but it is gone. Arby’s stole it! And the briskett. My favorite thing about firehouse is the selection of sauces. I usually leave there with about i different hot sauces. Unfortunately, this isnt a 5star review due to my high expectation, but Firehouse is still good. I still wnjoy the briskett, but something about the quality just isn’t top notch. Maybe toasting the sandwiches would make em better.

We ordered from work to pick up. Three sandwiches, two were made wrong. We called to complain and they said they would make note in their system & we could receive the same order again another time for free. So we waited a few weeks and called to place our order. It was no problem with the order being free but after we picked it up… it was wrong AGAIN! Won’t go back!

So glad they opened this location close to home. We are big fans of Firehouse Subs and this one doesn’t disappoint. Food is delicious… the best subs around! Brought my in-laws who had never been to a Firehouse Subs and my father-in-law loved his sub(Hook & Ladder) so much he talked about it for a week! Now every time they come to visit, he asks to go! And, my kids love the drink machine, of course!

I walked in and was greeted right away, star, there were two people in front of me before it was my turn to order. The woman behind the counter asked me if she can start my order before he cashier was ready. I asked her if I can try two items on the menu to pick between the two. At that point, I let someone visit the cashier before me so I can wait for my samples. She was so confused and questioned why I was letting someone go in front of me. I thought that was strange. As I quickly try the samples, i am ready to place my order I hear her look behind me and ask whose next… You waited 3mins to ask that question, clearly I am ready. Nevertheless, she takes another persons order and the cashier takes another person. I honestly felt like I was invisible! I end up ordering a salad and asked for tuna topped on it instead. When I walked up to the cashier, I told her I ordered a salad with no meet and tuna instead. She goes«so which would you like the firehouse salad…» I explained that it really didn’t matter which salad she selected since they are all the same price. She goes«wait, I’m confused», she looked confused. The woman came up and pointed out the tuna salad selection. Before I swiped I asked f I had a different salad dressing option. The woman seemed a little upset and explained she already put the dressing on the salad and it was actually really good. I told her I don’t mind trying it as long as they remake it if I don’t like it. She expressed she rather remake it than have me sample the dressing. Fair enough. I received my salad and only half of t was coated with dressing. T was more dry than dressing… I was already too annoyed to say something. While TRYING to enjoy the tuna and 3 pieces of lettuce with dressing, I was asked 4 times by different people how my meal is. Appreciated, but it’s not necessary for someone to ask every time they walk by. Oh, and a 5th when I was leaving. My answer won’t change. I realistically won’t be coming back to this location. Simply annoyed about this experience.

Yet another sub chain. Yes, I know they’ve been around since ’94 in some markets, but this is Chicagoland, so sandwich shops abound. Since any trained monkey can throw cold cuts on a piece of bread with veggies(looking at you Subway), I judge sandwich shops by the meatballs. Since Firehouse likes to claim the best meatball sandwich«guaranteed», they set the bar a bit higher. I was hungry and so ordered the big version of their meatball sandwich. I liked the soft bread, I liked the sauce, I liked the cheese… the meatballs however, are just okay. If you’ve ever made meatballs(or even meatloaf) then you know that the magic is in the balance between flavor and texture. You control the flavor by limiting how much bread crumbs and other filler you add to the meat while seasoning things enough to stand up to the bread/pasta/sauce that will some later. Firehouse meatballs are full of filler and lacking in flavor. Of course meat and spices cost more than bread crumbs, so I suspect they’re very profitable when charging me roughly $ 8.50. The best meatball sub from a chain in Chicagoland is still to found at Potbelly’s. Their meatballs are meaty and have more flavor, though even they still don’t come close to homemade. I will not be making any special trips to Firehouse but may try another sandwich if in the neighborhood.

My first time at Firehouse Subs on Boughton Rd. I kept getting ajetated by a fruitfly that just wouldn’t stay away from my sammich. Lost my appetite, I wont be going there again!!!

Good subs & nice employees. Not super crazy about the bread they use if I’m being picky-a little too soft. Good sammich otherwise. Too many questions involved in getting one: (Select my sub), then. Would you like a combo? What size drink? What size sandwich? White or wheat? Pickle on the side ok? Mayo, etc, etc(lists all toppings)? Would you like to round up your total & donate to??? Name for the order? I appreciate they wanna get it right but holy crap, I can get a drivers license with fewer questions.

Okay, riddle me this. How is a grilled cheese made? Not with the butter inside with the cheese!!! That is how I received a kids meal grilled cheese. Now what toddler/child is going to eat that!!! Fail!!! If by chance this is the way they make it, won’t be returning!!!

This is a heartbreaking post. The store here was so clean and the staff so nice and friendly I ordered a brisket sub. The bun was so soft. The beef was average and they put sweet baby rays bbq on it. Nothing special about a 9 dollar plus. You try for yourself because maybe other sandwiches are better. Out.

First time here. Won’t be the last. Had the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket medium 8″ on wheat, outta this world in flavor! Can’t wait to come back and try another sub, maybe the NY Steamer or the Hook & Ladder?!? They do offer healthier choices as well, maybe next time. Jimmy Johns you have to move to second place now. Customer service was good, greeted as soon as we walked in. Clean place. Décor is pretty neat.

Yummo! Super friendly and good food! Isn’t that what you look for? Upon going to order the counter person tells me a little about their spiel and they way it works there which was helpful. I ordered a turkey, bacon, ranch sub sandwich. The only thing I would say is their bread isn’t very«sub» like. It was too soft and if I actually had to save part of the sandwich it would be extremely soggy! Just saying…

Wow! We stopped in after a day in downtown Chicago. We were driving home a few hours away and popped into this Sub Shop! They had just been open about 2 weeks and you couldn’t tell! Our food was amazing! The store had so many extras. From the pictures to «real» firehouse items I was impressed! The owners were working side by side with the employees and you can’t tell which is which until they stopped and offered to show us around! It was a pleasant surprise. A true gem and it made a car full of teenagers happy… Priceless!
