This restaurant is a hidden gem! Definitely one of the best anywhere. The staff is friendly; the food is so delicious and beautifully presented . Can’t say enough good about this place We found 4 years ago.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem while out looking for a place to celebrate our 20(+1)th anniversary. All I can say is DELICIOUS! The food was expertly prepared, from the apps to desert. We came in in the middle of diner service w/no reservations and were seated immediately at the bar. Our bartender, Astrid, was pleasant & knowledgeable about the food & its preparation. We will certainly be heading to A Table Apart on a more regular basis.

Tuesday 7:30pm Warm atmosphere and welcoming professional, attentive staff. I love places like this that nail all the details. The bread is possibly the best bread I’ve eaten in a long while. We shared 3 apps. Portobello mushroom crustless pizza, calamari and Mussels with Chorizo. All good. Dipping sauce for calamari was great but calamari could have been fried a little longer. Mussels with Chorizo are amazing. The broth had deep, well developed favors and its impossible not to soak it all up with the accompanying toasted bread. I finished it of with a spoon like soup. Triple Tail. Perfect. Great favors. The best fish dish I’ve eaten in years. Desserts. Sweet potato pie is a little unconventional. Coconut cream on top, pie is a little dense but a good dessert. Chocolate chip bread pudding, very rich but a little undercooked. Crème Brûlée was very good. Next time I’ll try the gluten free chocolate cake. Definitely will return and maybe try the early bird Prix Fixe menu.

3 weeks later, and I’m still dreaming of the Triple Tail Aioli Snapper! We stumbled in after playing miniature golf down the street, and sat at the bar because we didn’t have reservations. The prices looked a bit high at first, but after we received our meals it was clear we were getting what we paid for. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly prepared(tentacles and all!) and came with a fantastic sauce. This coming from a Rhode Islander, where calamari is the state appetizer! I took the bartender’s recommendation, ordered the Triple Tail, and was blown away. The flavors combined were phenomenal, and this was quite possibly the best dish I’ve ever had(don’t tell my boyfriend! He was a trained chef for many years). In fact, dining out can be a tough experience because his standards are very high. He chose the short ribs, and had not one single critique. This might be a first.

SUPERCALIFRAGALISTIC! We’ve been hearing & reading good things about this restaurant for years and finally made it for dinner. Our long wait was well rewarded. This is a wonderful place. My wife and I were there early for the special, two Prix Fixe orders and a free bottle of cheap wine. We were not disappointed. The wine was, as expected, just barely drinkable(but I did!), and everything else was fantastic. We shared an appetizer of the Hawaiian Kalua Pig Quesadilla, and it was lovely, if unremarkable. Then we each had the Pear Salad with Organic Mixed Greens, a Li hing mui Poached Ajou Pear, & Spiced Pecans. This was a highlight. For the main course, I had the Char Grilled 12oz Heirloom Pork Chop with 2 Jalapeño Grits Cakes, and Brown Butter Haricots Vert(that’s Green Beans in fancy talk!). It was the biggest pork chop I’ve ever seen and very good, as were the beans. I also liked the grits, although I think they forget the jalapeños as there was no bite whatsoever to them. My wife had the Chicken & Shrimp Jambalaya with braised Chicken, Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, & Rice. I tried it and we agreed that it was excellent and did, indeed, have a nice spicy bite. Our server(Alona, from the Ukraine) deserves special mention because she was just perfect: friendly, informed & informative, but not overly intrusive. A delightful experience that we plan to repeat.
