Yummy, standard pizza but not out of this world pizza. I like the different daily specials. and My friend is obsessed with their buffalo chicken pizza.

Belated I know, but I’ve had Upper Crust numerous times over the past several years at lunch meetings and it tastes fairly good only if you consume it shortly after baking. Once the crust cools, it becomes terribly tough and unpleasant. This combined with excessively high prices makes for some lackluster za.

There’s one pizza you have to get here(or at least one topping). That succulent, punch-you-in-the-face pepper adds so much to any pizza. Try to eat just one slice, and despite the satiation of your hunger, your soul will cry out for more. You won’t be able to stop yourself. Two slices later, you’ll be completely satisfied and not at all wishing you had stopped a little sooner… maybe.

First time I am giving one star. Wish I could give none. First time also I ordered a pizza that simply never came. Let me explain: After a whole day of fasting, my roomate and I wanted to devore some pizza. She suggested to call Upper Curst to order us some fancy pizza. Was not sure about the 20 dollars price for a pizza but I was like let’s give it a try. I called at 6 pm. They were out of veal. I was that’s ok make it chicken. The guy told me the delivery guy should be there at 7 pm. 8 pm: No delivery guy. No Pizza. Me ANGRY. I called, the guy on the phone told me that there was a mistake, no one took our order, our pizza was never on her way. He did not really apologize, just told us that he will take our order again. Pizza should be received at 9 pm. In my head: Is he F… kidding me ??? I finally calm my self saying it was too late to order anyone else and did not have the energy to take my car to buy food so I was ok. 9.30 pm: NO delivery guy. No pizza. Me OUTOFMYMIND. I called again, apparently the delivery guy is lost, his GPS not working. he apprently tried to call but my phone wasnot working. REALLY !!! I should give him another half an hour according to the guy on the phone. I am so starving, I dont have the energy to fight. Just enough to pray. 10 pm: Still no delivery guy. No pizza. I called and managed to calmly ask for a plausible explanation. The guy on the phone simply told me that the delivery guy was a newbie, that the place is closing in a few minutes any way, its not his fault if his guy did not find our place(ONMISSIONHILL) and that he has to ask him to come back so he can close the pizzeria. REALLY B… !!! When I told him that this was unacceptable and that I wanted to speak to the manager, he told me that he was not there but he would let him know what’s happened(Mais oui, bien sur). May I need to add that during all the time my roomate and I waited, no one from the pizzeria never called us, even once to let us know what was happening or to apologize. WORSTEXPERIENCEEVERAS A CUSTOMER(and I have been to A LOTOFPLACESIN A LOTOFCOUNTRIES). We ended up going to Tasty Burger. Whish was amazing. End of the story.

Upper Crust. i been waiting to try you for a while… my friend raves about you. But this is totally something i would go for once a year, the pizza is pretty oily =/It’s good nonetheless though. we ordered a large split pizza; the state house and the harvard street. After paying, about 23 $ for that pizza, my bf and i went to grab seats. It’s true that there is very limited seating. Our cashier was soo nice… he’s just all cheery, which i love! The state house is a bit too much meat for me but i love the harvard street, it was very… healthy even if it’s all oily… like really oily ick. It’s hard to cut the pizza with a knife so you’re better off just using your hands, yeah i know i’m weird, i like using a knife and fork okay! Just kinda of fold the pizza and HOPEFULLY all your toppings won’t slide off!

This pizza is really good, as long as you eat it RIGHTAWAY! Once the pizza gets even a little warm, it starts losing the good taste. I had this happen when I took it to go, I walked about 3 blocks back to the Sheraton. The first couple of slices were still hot and tasted really good… but the rest not so much(it cooled down a bit).

I’ve been to other locations for upper crust but never have I had such a terrible experience as I did at this one! Not only did it take over 30 minutes to get the pizza(«Oh, it will only be a 15 minute wait!») but our take out order somehow turned into an eat-in order in that half hour. The staff was not very friendly and you really had to sqeeeeeze to get anywhere. Weird set up!

I really, really want to like Upper Crust, but at the end of the day, the pizza just isn’t that great. I’ve gotten both slices and whole pies at this location, and have a few general comments about the pizza: 1. The slices are huge – like, bigger than a paper plate. This would seem like a good thing but it makes them hard to eat. I’d prefer a more manageable slice. 2. Crust is frequently burnt near the edges. 3. Toppings aren’t all that flavorful. Once I ordered a «buffalo chicken» pizza, and the chicken topping was mildly spiced, definitely not a classic«buffalo» flavor at all. The chicken and pesto pizza is probably the best one I’ve had, but the pesto was applied atop red sauce which kind of diluted its flavor. 4. It’s expensive. Almost $ 4 for the slice of the day, and $ 3 for cheese or pepperoni. Want a whole pizza? Expect to pay at least $ 20, depending on which type you get.(If you have a CharlieCard, you can get 10% off.) I also don’t like that whenever I get a slice here, I have to wait between 5 – 10 minutes for them to warm it, but then it’s packaged so flimsily that it’s already cold again by the time I make it to my apartment a few blocks away. I’d rather they just give it to me cold and save my time if I’m microwaving it anyway. I do like that they serve draft and bottled beer and wine at this location. They also have a couple of big screen tvs always tuned to ESPN or whatever game is on. I’ll probably come back for a slice of pizza again for convenience’s sake, but I can’t see myself ordering another entire pizza, and I certainly won’t make a point of visiting Upper Crust.

I have been here a few times and I really the thin crust pizza. They also have more interesting combinations. It can be on the pricey side for pizza($ 20) but it’s not bad if you are just grabbing a slice($ 3 slices are huge). I would probably choose Engine House for basic pizza flavors and toppings but Upper Crust is nice to find something different.

I’ve experienced their pizza numerous times which was delicious, but this article needs to be shared with the UC clientele, as well.

Great thin crust pizza. I tried the whole wheat and the regular and both were good. I also gave the chicken lasagna and spinach squares a try. Both good and they don’t skimp on the cheese. The service was really friendly offering us discounts if we had a Charlie card, and they let me try a new pie they were testing for a future Slice of the Day feature. Great friendly smiles and the vibe feels like a pizzeria should. Lines waiting for a slice and lots of busy bodies.

Scallop and bacon… on a pizza? On Newbury Street? For less than $ 10 per person? Fricken amazing. Pizzas are made to order here at Upper Crust. All of the crusts are made thin, which is crunchy and so good — a great difference from your typical New York style pizza. The décor is great with inverted pizza pans hanging from the sealing, high top stools, and little flowers in vases at each table. The combinations of toppings are delicious, and you can always add, take out, and customize whatever you would like. You can even have half of the pizza a certain type of flavor and the other half something completely different to suit everyone’s needs. A great plus is if you have a Charlie Card and show it to the cashier, they will give you 10% off your order! Amazing! The only con to this location’s Upper Crust is the seating and the tiny place. Usually there are a ton of people standing and many people take their order to go because of such little space. This location would definitely get 5 stars from me if they expanded and added additional tables to sit down and enjoy the meal.

Enjoyed the experience(as you can tell, I’m not a Bostonian), but not the pizza itself. It was unique — thin and crisp, but with lots of cheese and butter on top — and different — Neapolitan style but a little too hard and chewy(slightly bitter). The place is also very cramped(and no one leaves it clean) and busy(good sign maybe) — but an interesting concept certainly!

This pizza is as good as it gets! Bf and I ordered the daily special for a little over $ 3/slice but the slice is a BIG slice. The special was a mushroom and fresh tomato pizza and herbs. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I would choose Upper Crust over any pizza in Boston. Although we didn’t have beer, i LOVE that they have the option. The seating isn’t large, but it is a grab and go type of place. Pretty cool deco on the ceiling though! 1st time the bf had upper crust and he loves it!
