It is always a dilemma whether to laud or lament the demise of a true shithole in this town.

Dark, dingy and really bad service. We came in looking for a bar snack and drink before the ZBB concert and were very disappointed. The bartenders walked right past us and never even asked what we wanted — they weren’t busy either!

Went to Boston to visit a friend and see the Royals against the Red Sox at Fenway. We tried a couple of restaurants close to the park, but of course they were packed and had 40 min waits. There is a street that is blocked off outside the park where they sell food and drinks, and that’s where they scan tickets to get into the stadium. Depending on the time you get there, that line to scan your ticket can be long. We ended up going to Who’s on First because there was a guy standing in front of an alley that said, «Come in our back door and our front door opens up to Fenway! No lines!» So you walk down this alley and it opens up to where a couple of businesses have their back door. Who’s On First has an outside seating area. We got a beer and had dinner here before the game. The selection is basically burgers and fries, and onion rings. The place is large and it wasn’t busy. It’s a bit divey, but fine. Like most divey bars, there are no windows and it is dark. Later I read other reviews and couldn’t believe they have hip hop night and charge a $ 20 cover? For what we wanted, it was great. We got food fast, it wasn’t packed, and then we could get our tickets scanned and head into Fenway without waiting in line. Fries were crisp and tasty. Oh, if you check in on Unilocal, there is a deal of free appetizers. When I asked our server, he didn’t know anything about it so he took it to a manager. They said they don’t have appetizers besides fries and onion rings. Since fries already came with our burgers, we passed on the deal.

I went to Fenway on Monday, 8÷17÷15, 100 degrees outside! I went because the Red Sox’s origination donated tickets to my terminal ill Uncle. Of course we got their early for the whole experience and found ourselves at Who’s On First. This bar staff was AMAZING and took care of my uncle and family as if we were part of their family. Thoughtful, warm hearted and kind to my whole family! I mean you can get a drink anywhere… but with Staff like this why would you ever consider anywhere else. Thank you from my family to yours.

Came in from Los Angeles before we walked in to Fenway park to catch a game and it was awesome. Coors light girls handing out bottle openers and deals on beers, also gave us advice for rest of my trip. So far this bar has already made me want to come back to Boston… Coors light girls were awesome I will never drink a bud light again Update-went into Fenway park and had a bud light. Don’t judge me! Cheers lol

After not being around Fenway for a couple years I noticed this place. I walked up to the 3 bouncers at the door(there was no one in line or anything) and asked one of them«how long has this place been open?» He said he didn’t know and pointed to the bouncer next to him and he said«right now and the cover is 20 dollars.» Thanks buddy.

We waited at the bar for half an hour for drinks. I don’t mean in line, I mean AT the bar, pushed up against it by the other people, and everyone around us getting served. Only so long you can stare at a bartender who isn’t looking at you until you’re discouraged. We even split up and my friend who left our initial spot was served first! She mentioned it and the bartender said she was just going in order. WHATORDER? Anyway, getting in was fine. Yes, there was a line, but it moved fast enough and when our friend wasn’t back with the cash yet they didn’t care that we just stood there waiting. Coat check ran out of room so we were told we could leave them on top of the beer boxes and she wouldn’t charge us. Gee thanks. Music was okay, I remember thinking it was a bit too much of a certain person, but can’t recall who.

This place is the worst, it is expensive(but you would expect that for the location), divey, and smells musty. There are too many places around Fenway, don’t choose this place unless you have to. Draft beer is gross… Think moldy taps you would see on the show Bar Rescue.

$ 20 to get in– doesn’t get bumping until 12 — drinks are expensive

Who’s On First is the only place we go before and after Sox games(and other times too!). The renovations in the past year make the place look awesome! Bartenders are great, drinks are cold, and the food comes out quickly.

First off the staff here is extremely rude. One particular female who works there has to be one of the most unfriendly people I have ever met. She walks around like she is a prison guard. She was basically barking at people to move. If you are going to be that rude you might want to find another line of work. I’ve been here a few times now only because of a certain event that is held here every year and I always remember her being this way. The rest of the bartenders and bouncers weren’t much better. It is also pretty hard to get an overpriced beer here

Disgusting dump. $ 6 for a bud light. Really? So many amazing bars in the Fenway area don’t waste your time here. Non-HD TV’s — did I fall into a hot time time machine? Gross.

Went here with a group of friends for a TWC(lgbt group) meetup. I’d give this place a two if it wasn’t for the layout/vibe, which I liked. Good variety of people(may have just been because of TWC, though…), lots of space for dancing, sitting, standing around in packs while swaying a little bit and clutching your beer… you know you’re guilty of it. But as for the rest of it: –the best bottled beer they offer is Heineken, which I paid… $ 7-$ 8 for, I think? yikes –the one men’s bathroom stall doesn’t lock –the music was terrible(«Single Ladies» isn’t old enough to be ironic and isn’t new enough to really dance to/enjoy despite my love for B, lots of boyband songs(which are funny, but not when there are three of them in an hour), Rihanna’s «Diamonds» is not a dance song even though it’s one of my recent favorites, etc.)

Worst run Nightclub EVER! The door man had no clue. The police actually had to come break up fights because the Guys at the door couldn’t handle it. And who shuts down a guest list at 11:30? They need ropes or at least someone who knows what they are doing, and once inside??? Don’t bother.

Who’s on first is alright. When we were walking around Fenway a few hours before the game, we noticed that they were having a deal on Corona’s. You basically got a bucket of 5 beers for like $ 20. That was a pretty good deal to us since beers are usually about $ 5 bucks each. So, we went and had our bucket of beers. The bar itself is nothing special — its almost exactly what you would expect of an old sports bar. The bartenders were cool, but nothing spectacular. It was really slow though, so they may have been really bored. Anyways, after our bucket, we left. There was nothing really else to do in the bar.

neat pub. Great cider beer selection and great place for a pre game drink. Bathrooms are sketchy. Stop by but have your tickets in hand, they scan them before you can go in(?)

I went during a game between the Red Sox and the Mets– the Mets were losing pretty badly so I wasn’t hung up on staying in the ball park. There’s not much to say that hasn’t been said– once I realized it was located in a basement I knew what to expect. The beer was cold and the locals were friendly despite my Mets t-shirt. That’s about all I can say for the place.
